Your 2026 Gaming Goals

Planning to buy only 4 games at launch (007, Forza horizon 6, wolverine and GTA 6)

I'm going to concentrate on my backlog next year, and play more strategy games like age of empires 2.

I have ps plus premium again so going to try and make use of that too.

I need to try and stop buying games for the sake of it. I keep buying games for £3 or £4 thinking I want them in my collection and they are cheap. but it all adds up and I end up spending £400 during the year on games I've hardly played or even downloaded and might never even play.

play through like a dragon 7 through Pirates.
that is 7 ishin gaiden 8 and Pirates.
I also want to play through Kwame 3 mainly dark Tides already know three story.
and then I want to play through Fist of the North Star Lost Paradise which for those who don't know is like a dragon brawler gameplay with fists of the North Star stuff.

i'll try to beat some heavy hiters that are on my backlog.

Bloodborne
Witcher 3
Zelda Breath of the Wild
Sekiro
Cyberpunk 2077

Also some games i'll play day one:

DW Origins expansion
Crimson Desert
Phantom Blade Zero
007 First Light

How do you get that lean? I just can't seem to lose weight in a way that doesn't make me feel like shit.

Being a personal trainer definitely helps.

But the real key is maintaining a small calorie deficit and, above all, developing patience. If the deficit is too aggressive, you'll burn through your willpower and most likely fail which is what happens to most people when they want fast results. A 200–300 calorie deficit at most, training 3-4 times per week, and staying consistent for at least 90-100 days will make a huge impact, even for someone obese.

I get you though, losing weight isn't easy, I love food and hate being restricted. Choosing the right foods is key to make the process less miserable. Having a clear goal or a strong source of motivation helps a lot too in keeping discipline on track

Play through all the Final Fantasy games in the 1-6 collection
I'm on the other side of this... in 2025 I finished FF7, 8, 9, 10, 10-2, 12 (TZA) and 13.
428948AD531EBA48C521A5E71534267A065B12A2

I've started 15 (about 6 hours in) and will then go into the recent FF7 releases (Intergrade, Crisis Core & Rebirth).

I think the 007 game might distract me but I think that's been pushed to July.

Nice!

  • Write another one. I've written a handful of small games (and even an iOS one back when writing iOS apps was new and shiny) but nothing for ages. Too busy pratting around with different tech and waiting for Jai -- I should just pick a language/engine/framework and get on with it. We've a dev thread on here for home-brew/indie stuff so maybe I'll post in there;
  • I got my PSX collection running via emulation in 2025 so doing the same for my PS2 games in 2026 is defo a goal. I cannot be arsed dragging consoles out of the loft any more;
  • Note me down as another one moving over to the PC wholesale. Turns out I cannot be arsed to buy new consoles to eventually put in the loft any more either.

I'm going to be playing at least ten games next year

Tales of Grace f HD Remaster
Valkyrie Profile Lenneth HD Remaster
Trails In The Sky First Chapter Remake
Clair Obsur Expedition 33
Dragon Quest VII Reimagined
Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy
Marvel Midnight Sun
Shadow Hearts
Ace Attorney Trilogy

I might play more than that

Man I'd love a shadow hearts HD remaster by a component studio. Nothing fancy. Just the ability to play it on modern platforms with small updates to visuals.

I was suppose to beat it this year but I kind of put a pause on playing the game. I do remember where I left off but what I played of the game so far is Fantastic. I wish more turn based battle systems would incorporate the Judgement Ring Mechanic into their gameplay

I know Clair Obsur Expedition 33 has a similar battle system so I will see if I love it

I have loved every game that has a similar type of battle system like Shadow Hearts which includes Lost Odyssey and Legend of Dragoon

Kino beyond the kino. Get ready for some sad times, a unique battle system and some amazing music.

It's one of those games I have always been meaning to play but never got around to it. I have the HD Remaster on PS4. I was testing it out and so far it's looks and plays great. When I actually get to the game, I want to aim for the True Ending on the first try

Simply to play (and finish) more games than the last few years. I've been slacking and my backlog keeps growing.

Work on my huge backlog, like every year... aaaand i just bought Avatar, SW Outlaws and RE4 Remake :/
On the bright side, you people keep the industry alive by buying new games you'll never complete. There was a survey done that most Steam users play few (and old) games and many are bought by 'hoarders' who will most likely never play through them.

So true 😔

Play through all the modern Ninja Gaiden games in order.

-Ninja Gaiden Black (via Series X update)
-Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword
-Ninja Gaiden II Black
-Ninja Gaiden 3: Razor's Edge
-Ninja Gaiden 4

I own them all, but have only finished Ninja Gaiden, Ninja Gaiden Dragon Sword and OG Ninja Gaiden II. I got about half way through Ninja Gaiden 3: RE, but never finished it. It's time to go through them all from start to finish.

Thanks mate, will drop you a message later

One of my goals is to play all the Final Fantasy games I've wanted to play that I never have. I like FF quite a bit but there's some big holes including IV, IX (never liked the art as a kid), X (sort of the same as in I just don't like tropical stuff), and XII (I played probably 30 hours of it back on PS2 but got stuck and never finished it so I want to go back and finish it).

Play more games.
Ultimately it's this though.

Work on my backlog, buy less games. I have so many left to play from '25 and before.

Having said that, definitely putting things on hold for DQ VII-R, can't wait for that!

The obvious ones are easily: RE9 good thing it comes fairly soon now and Diablo 4 new expansion already in the bag with the Paladin
And then there's the Bond game which definitely looks like my kind of game.

And right now after rewatching the Star Wars movies I picked up Outlaws to start the new year, but deep down I'd really love some random remake/remaster announcement or shadow drop for Jedi Knight 2, Jedi Academy or Republic Commando as these should be pretty good choices for Nightdive or something.

Also hoping for Max Payne remakes to drop next year.

Other than that I guess I'll try to do the backlog party... and still gonna rather end up replaying some of the good old favorites.

Finish at least one horror game.

I am ridiculously easy to frighten and can't stand horror games, but I have a feeling I'm missing a lot by completely avoiding the genre.
