Wait. What's the point?

How good is Darkstalkers?!? I love this series.

It's great on PSP! Some people have complained about difficulty doing the special moves, particularly those that require circular movements on the joypad. If you're used to playing on Sony's PS1/PS2 controllers, then I don't think you'll have any trouble with this game on PSP.

Also, does anyone know if Namco is planning on PSP versions of Ace Combat or Tekken?

I haven't heard, but we can hope!

What ever happened to the PSP version of Gran Turismo?? I thought that would've been out by now.

It should be out sometime in 2006.

Devil May Cry needs to materialize...

I've found that the analog nub is a completely acceptable replacement for the stick if the developer fine tunes the control. The control needs to be sharper and more focused on the nub because it is more difficult to make quick turns. GTA, PoP, and SOCOM, for example, do this well. Death Jr. does not. Well, who cares, Death Jr. is a mess. I can't believe I bought that game.

RIDICULOUS ghosting and horrible, black, muddy graphics. That game made me feel like the PSP had a ton of promise that nobody was ever going to tap. Then GTA and PoP came along. :D

For me, GTA and Lumines top the list. Though Ridge Racer is right there. I probably have put the most hours in World Series of Poker though.

I think Smackdown vs Raw is going to take the crown next week though.

How do you like it? I know most of the reviews for this game (on all systems, not just PSP) were rather negative, but it seemed mostly aimed at the AI of computer opponents. I suppose if you play it multiplayer (perhaps online), it's a lot better.

It would be funny if the Texas Hold 'em mini-game in WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2006 turned out to be a better poker game than Activision's complete offering.

"Have a nice day!" :)

I've had 3 games so far:

1. Ridge Racer: Totally hooked up on this, loved every second.
2. Lumines: Expected more... great graphs/Music... but not too keen on gameplay (Meteos>Lumines)
3. Wipeout: Sold it 3 weeks after I bought it... couldn't get into it.

First, I've seen and played a little of almost every PSP game. But I only own 2 games Lumines and Hot Shots Golf. If I would have played Hot Shots on PS2 I would not have purchased it..

Lumines is still the best game for me on the PSP.

The rest of the PSP titles simply feel like PS2 ports... Don't feel like handheld games.. And don't feel like new games... Which is really dissapointing. I'm still waiting for something new that I didn't already rent on the PS2. Maybe someday...

QUICK QUESTION YOU GUYYYYYZ....

The SOCOM headset...does any headset work? Could I use my cell phone headset? Or my Xbox Live headset?

To the original question:

Wipeout, no doubt. I haven't played it for a while, but I have a ton more to do, and I know I will go back to it-- I always do.

I played some three hours of Prince of Persia today and to sum it up, being a Prince of Persia fan, I'm very disappointed. For starters the loading times are horrible. My main concern is the initial one, which is on par with Midnight Club. Also, not as atrocious but still noticeable are the loading times during play, which are much more frequent the the PS2 version.

Moving on to the sound department. I am by no means an audiophile, but there are some serious issues here which makes the game feel really half ass like:
- Sound is un synched during cut-scenes.
- Music stops in the middle of the tracks to load.
- Music disappears.
- Dialogue and sound effects randomly gets cut for no apparent reason.

Environments look really good, and are probably the single aspect of the game that is the least flawed.
When watching the game in motion it's quite easy to tell that Ubi have cut frames of animation from the characters, the most noticeable of course being the prince. However, my main concern is not the lack of fluid animations, but the bad frame rate. At 222Mhz Revelations is pretty far from the silky smooth Prince of Persia experience we've grown accustomed to.

The camera is controlled using the D-pad. Up is the landscape camera, left resets it and right is first person view. You can also move the camera around by holding down L button. I've had some issues, but nothing major.

In conclusion I think Ubi blew it big time with Revelations. Instead of correcting the issues that PoP:WW had and enhanced the gaming experience (would have been nice with added speed kills), Ubi have created a at many times below mediocre port of the trilogy's weakest link.

I still can't get over the fact that GTA LCS looks so fucking amazing, I mean holy shit PSP screen is incredible, the draw distance is better than the GTAs in PS2 :o

I only have GTA atm, but man what a game.

btw does any of you guys use a screen protector for the PSP? if so which one?

btw are dead pixels white or black? because I have a white dot when the screen is black that's barely noticeable but it completely disappears (it's very hard to see more like it) when I'm playing.

Just beat GTA, that game rocks your FUCKING FACE IN. Best handheld game EVER.

Gripshift is also a pretty awesome game, a few hours into that now. Currently playing Midway Arcade Treasures -- Mortal Kombat is teh sexxor

I hear Smackdown is insanely content rich but the load times are unforgiveable?

Dead pixels are black. What you have is a stuck pixel and luckily stuck pixels can become unstuck. Dead pixels stay dead.

I've heard different things (playing a type of video, rubbing screen, etc.), but I mostly hear that they go away on their own.
