Your PSP Wish List

It's been a good first year for the PSP, but I've been thinking about what I want to see in the future:

Devil Dice Portable with downloadable content

The first Devil Dice (Xi) was great in many way, but may favorite part was the puzzle mode. I would love an editor and a place to exchange puzzles, or at least new puzzles to be added on. Also, wi-fi and/or infrastructure multiplayer would rock. Add in adventure-type levels from Bombastic and other modes (exploding dice, jumbo dice) if desired, but I'd be happy with new puzzles in the classic mode.

A Keyboard

Surfing is neato, but sucks without a keyboard.

More retro-gaming packs, or downloadables

We have Capcom and Taito collections coming, and Midway and Namco already. Next we need Atari, Konami, and I'd personally love to see a Universal or Cimematronics collection as well. Plus, many missing games from the manufacturers who already have collections out. Add to that another Pinball Hall of Fame title with Bally/Midway/Williams games this time.

Also, we know the PSP can download content to a memory stick. How about a XBL Arcade type model where we can buy individual games for a smaller fee?

Infrastructure mode puzzle games

I'd like it for Devil Dice, but I would love to see any number of puzzle games playable over the internet

Gran Tursimo Mobile

I've gotten tired of the series on my PS2, but I know I'd play tis a ton on the road (so to speak). Where are you, GTM?

A WWI dogfigting game

I may just be trying to recreate an old Lynx experience here, but wouldn't this make a great ad-hoc network game?

A working exploit for 2.5 and above, including a loader

The brief while I played games from memory stick was awesome. No load times, and several of my games at hand without toting my original disks.

What do you want for PSP?

Legacy of Kain: Blood Omen PSP
Parappa PSP
Headset support in all future online games. (Especially Field Commander if it's good)
Custom soundtracks in more games.
All of those South Korean beat games.
More shooters like SOCOM (control scheme, sure it isn't KB+mouse or Xbox dual analog, but it's the best shooter for handhelds yet imo, until MP:Hunters comes)
Better Battery + less load times (i think the constant streaming would be the only fix to the load times, thus requiring better battery)

I'll take SOTC as well. I have the PS2 game, but I play very little in front of the TV these days, so I'm barely into it.

I am pleased Outrun is coming. Possibly the first non-arcade Outrun that I'll enjoy, if done right. More Sega would be good.

I could also go for some interesting shooters. Something as fresh as Rez, but different.

2D or 3D Devil May Cry
2D Castlevania
GT4 Mobile
New Resident Evil game, RE4 style gameplay
Rhythm games (ie DDR) with the option to create 'steps' for custom songs that are on your memory stick.

PSP Tekken or VF would be nice.

PSP King of Colosseum would rock my ass off.

Keyboard.

2.5 loader.

Some more titles that are unique to the PSP and not PS2 ports.

A GOOD baseball game on PSP. The 2 I've played SUCK major ass.

A FPsthat doesnt feel so odd to play.

I'll take a copy of VF4: Final Tuned please. With Net Play.

Online RPG's. I know they're coming, but it's on my list.

In fact, more online games in general are on my list, so yeah. More of those, with voice chat included.

An RSS reader that isn't just for audio/podcasts.

That'll do for now! :)

Outrun 2 Coast 2 Coast on a handheld........wait a second

Seriously, I'd like EA to put out a decent MVP game with a decent framerate and some good 3d platformers (Daxter has potential, we'll see)

I wouldn't mind a good Madden game either, but at this point, I can wait until next fall. A good platformer would be nice too, and I wouldn't mind an updated Jumping Flash game.

Jet Grind Radio PSP (or a new JSR).
Shenmue 1 & 2 PSP.
Phantasy Star Online PSP.
More Sega PSP games, franchises and original.
More original games.
RE4-style original RE.
Team Ico game.
New Klonoa.
2D Castlevania.
2D Sonic.
Tekken PSP with infrastructure.
More Square-Enix games, even if ports.
333mhz unlocked, and better battery pack released.
More PDA-style features in firmware update.
More games taking advantage of infrastructure.

better baseball ftw. though I admit mlb is the best handheld baseball game yet.

more strategy titles.

a port of culdcept.

good rpg's.

more RPGs. online MMORPGs would be clever (for both the PSP and the DS) but I don't see how it would work. EQOA pretty much sucked being limited to the memory card. memsticks are bigger, though how well would they work to use actual content upgrades?

on the DS front (not trying to derail the thread) I am wondering if an MMORPG for the DS could use the GBA slot as a flash ram slot for like a GB card or something. Charge like $50 for the DS MMORPG and part of that is to pay for the flash cart for the GBA slot.

anyway, that is my wishlist.

When I was at Target yesterday, I saw this Stamina battery pack with 2200mAH (compared to 1800) being sold with the regular packs. Looked like a Sony product. I think this was talked about before, but anyone have any updated impressions?

I don't care what platform this is on, I want it!

Yeah, I've been waiting for an updated Jumping Flash game for a long time, but it would make an excellent portable game on the PSP. :)

As for the Stamina pack, I know someone had posted impressions on it here yesterday. Claimed to be getting better than advertised battery life out of it.

Klonoa
Castlevania (2D of course)
Sega System 16/18 collection (Shinobi, Altered Beast, Golden Axe, Shadow Dancer, etc.)
Skies of Arcadia
Military Madness

some shooters and RPG's that don't suck

Just what I had in mind! Any reviews of this thing? Does it work for any standard system text input?

It's pretty much vapourware. It has been listed at various online retailers at least since the American launch, with the release date constantly being shuffled further into the horizon.

A keyboard also wouldn't be much use without software support for it, which Sony would probably need to include in a firmware update.

That's more than half the library already, despite the propaganda that states otherwise.
I love my PSP but original game releases are at a trickle. It's gotten slightly better over the last few weeks but the system needs some breakout games besides GTA. It seems like everything post-launch that's been better than a 7/10 is a port or remake like Midnight Club or Burnout.

There certainly has been a surge of ports around holiday time, but upcoming release lists have a lot of original games on them.

*PSP Dream Features*

-Sony/PSP Support Legal Homebrew/Independent Development
-Net Yaroze/Linux Kit PSP Version
-Full Official Sony PSP-PDA Update

I want the Wipeout Pure design team to take all those wonderful scifi environments they created and build it out into a fully realized world for either an RPG or action adventure.

Legitimize homebrew - Sony needs to get out the equivalent of Net Yaroze or the PS2 Linux kit. Put out a sanctioned hobbyist dev kit that runs on PC/Mac and can create eboots recognized as safe to run off memory stick in a future firmware update. Maybe it wouldn't give access to all PSP internal systems, but enough to allow stuff like squarez, bookr, PSP Chess and so forth to still be built and distributed directly within the PSP online community.

Mercury 2 with a level editor.

Prices for 2 gig Duos below 100 USD.

General support for RSS feeds - text, audio, video, whatever.

Shooters, Shooters, Shooters.

Any of the popular 3D fighters (tekken, virtua fighter, soul calibur, etc...) with online infrastructure mode would be sweet. I would also like a large open ended RPG with focus on exploration and character customization. A really awesome Diablo'esque game would be cool too. Also, after seeing that latest wwe wrestling game on psp, I now want a Rumble Roses game on PSP.

SUIKODEN 1 AND II AND VALKYRIE PROFILE: LENNETH!!!
+Devil Summoner and SMT Persona 1 and 2(both Eternal Punishment and Innocent Sin) :)

Castlevania 2D + Sega "classic pack"(s) + GT4 Mobile FTW!!

Oh, and ports of ICO and SotC wouldn't be frowned upon either ;)

Loco Roco

Make some damn 2d rpgs on the system! What I wouldn't give for a 2d rpg with the artistic quality of a game like Legend of Mana...

I'd like to see a new Splinter Cell.

Also, although I'm not a fan of console ports, I will say that RPGs could be an exception. Leveling up on an airplane or in line at the DMV is way more appealing than leveling up at home. So I say the more RPGs the better, ports or otherwise.

I agree with borghe on the other list. All multiplayer games need an infrastructure mode. No excuses.

Having said that another Jet Set Radio on the PSP would be SWEEEEEEEEEET.
