Crap, no idea but here goes:

OK Computer - Radiohead
Nothing - Meshuggah
The Shape of Punk to Come - Refused
Mingus Ah Um - Charles Mingus
The Inner Mounting Flame - Mahavishnu Orchestra
Yankee Hotel Foxtrot - Wilco
Parachutes - Coldplay
Decade - Duran Duran
Good News For People Who Love Bad News - Modest Mouse
Live Evil - Miles Davis

I know that the Modest Mouse is too new to include but it really is a phenomenal recording.

You sir, just reminded me why I hate lists and top tens, cos I always forget something special.
Heh. I think the next ten CDs I could have listed would have trumped some people's entire lists. :) That's always the downside of this kind of thing...you see some great albums listed, but there are too many squeezed out for space.

Indeed, generally my favourite albums change hourly/moodly anyhow, missed out a shedload of great albums that I feel bad for not putting down :lol

Respect to IllSaint :-

Godflesh rock! Never thought I'd see it mentioned on GAF! :D

Pure is great, as is Selfless but Songs of Love and Hate is my favourite
Interesting choice for a favourite... I suppose you know of the upcoming Jesu album?

dude, c'mon....Facelift? =p

Dirt, Jar of Flies, Unplugged....all better than Facelift. Not that it's bad or anything...no AiC is bad.

As far as this puppy is concerned, We Die Young, Love Hate Love and Real Thing are the three best songs AIC ever did, plus I saw them supporting Megadeth when Facelift had just came out so it's kinda nostalgic as well. :D

My favourite albums are the ones I listen to most, and I listen to Facelift way more than Dirt et al... Unplugged is damn good tho.

Mentioning that gig supporting Megadeth, anyone else have the priveledge of hearing Love Hate Love live? Whoah momma that boy could belt it out

Sadly missed.

Lordy, it's crazy that you live in your own microcosm not thinking anyone else shares your little oddities!

Yeah, looking forward to it, got Heart Ache, and think it's interesting.

God (no pun intended) I could rattle on about how I got into Godflesh for ages :lol It's a kinda interesting music tree if you are into that kind of thing :lol

Suffice to say:-

Napalm Death+Loop= Godflesh

Which reminds me:-

A Gilded Eternity

should be in my top 10 - I'm listenin to it now - quality stuff!

but that odd music tree also introduced me to Scorn, Kevin Martin, Main and tons of other stuff :D

It's a nice album.
But yeah, once you hit Godflesh it's all uphill... TA, ICE, The Bug, Scorn etc. etc. etc... good shit, huh?

Scorn and GOD prolly me favourites, with Posession being a great great album

Godflesh played on Zorn / Laswell / M.J Harris' Pain Killer album 'Buried Secrets'. You know about that?

Oh, and maybe best not to hot-link from Slateman's page, his bandwidth is gonna go through the roof... :lol

:lol :lol

I've not got Buried Secrets, tho i've heard it, got a few Bill Laswell albums tho - that guy is an amazing bassist. I'm not too into the Painkiller stuff - a bit too unlistenable for me - still need a tune or a groove. Some of Bill Laswell mixes of Scorn stuff is quality tho.

Going back to the John Zorn/Mike patton link, you heard Fantomas? Dave Lombardo on the drums... :D Tomahawk are good as well, if a bit more mainstream... relatively speaking; no band with The Jesus Lizard guitarist are gonna be mainstream really :lol

thing about the doors is, their first two albums, "the doors" and "strange days" are both fantastic albums. my favorite albums criteria is similar to jinx's, in that, i dont like filler material, i can ignore some filler songs if the rest of the album is very good. on that note, the s/t album of the doors is top notch. there is not a single track i dislike.
whereas, say zeppelin iv isnt all that up there for me, as i only like the few well known tracks.

i could see that. I happen to like Strange Days a bit more, personally. But I can see where you're coming from. I have nearly all their CDs in my collection(IE bought, not downloaded), but when I'm in the mood for them, I ALWAYS end up playing their double disk best of cd.

No Order. Leaving out about 75% of what really matters 'cause I'm too lazy to think about it.

Bad Brains - Live in Amsterdam / Rock for Light (tie)
Clutch - Elephant Riders
Helmet - Strap it On
The Jam- Compact Snap
Jawbreaker - 24 Hour Revenge Therapy
Buzzcocks - Operator's Manual (a cheat- collected set- but they are ALL too good).
Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures
Clash - (insert album here)
Fugazi - Repeater
Superchunk - Foolish

Not a Patton fan (at all). But at least he was nice enough to release Curse of the Golden Vampires 'Mass Destruction' album... and Dalek. They rock.
