Your top 5 Nintendo Games?

This is tough.

Number one is Majora's Mask. It's my favorite game of all time, and there really isn't anything else like it.

The remaining 4 would be (in no order):
-Yoshi's Island
-Metroid Prime 2
-Donkey Kong Country 2
-Super Mario RPG
 
Zelda games are genius and carry a legacy. I still think Twilight Princess is better than Breath of the Wild but good for them going beyond levels in open world.

OoT, PM, MM are all my favorite. I think OoT and MM are top 5 games of all time, and if it is up to me, I rank OoT as the greatest game ever created, and would put MM right there with it at second greatest

1) Majora's Mask
My favourite game of all time. Taking everything that made Ocarina great and giving it one of the beat narratives of any Nintendo game, massive variety of gameplay, characters, activities, tones, environments and secrets that no game has ever topped for me. Just getting to see all the impacts you had had on the world at the end made the game special, but the Fierce Deity mask you get for doing everything is the single beat reward any game has for going the extra mile. I love it.

2) Fire Emblem Awakening
Saving a failed game series in the most spectacular manner possible, they through everything into this title, including their hearts and souls, and it shows. It's a high water mark the series has been chasing and not quite reaching since, but god damn was it an amazing surprise.

3) Ocarina of Time.
The best transition to 3D ever. Yes, better than Mario 64.

4) Paper Mario TTYD
Funny, charming, fun and with a richly rewarding progression system missing in the following instalments.

5) Metroid Prime
An incredible FPS that expertly evolved the Metroid formula and blended action, exploration and horror tropes together better than most games manage any one of those elements.

I can't even answer this because I have loved Nintendo games since the 80s. Maybe just first/latest with the understanding that they are all good.

Just 5 endlessly replayable games, each one an incredible achievement for its time and a textbook example of gameplay.

Its so great to see another person who loved Uprising. I know Sakurai said that it was a one-time thing, I hope it isn't a one-time thing and we won't have to wait another decade for another Kid Icarus game.

1. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of time - The 3DS version is pretty neat, and I enjoy it. But I like the N64 original more. There is a certain magic to it, which isn't in the other version. Might have something to do with nostalgia. But I really like the atmosphere, and I think it wasn't fully transported to the remake.

2. Metroid Prime- One of the best games ever. What else can I say?

3. Super Metroid- One of the most perfect games IMO. The haunting atmosphere is also something that is missing from the other 2D Metroid games. None of them have this feeling that Super Metroid has.

4. Zelda: A Link to the Past.
