Zach Snyder making zombie-heist movie, "Army of the Dead"

I was watching Chris D'Elia on the H3 Podcast and they talked about how Chris had been cast in this new Zach Snyder movie, how excited Chris is to do a straight up action movie instead of just comedy and whatnot.

Sounds like zombies are all quarantined in Vegas and a crew decides to pull off a heist in the middle of the quarantine zone or something like that?

Any thoughts?

Quarantine me with the zombie horde if old

I could accept another trashy Snyder zombie flick with his usual good visuals. But then this is a Netflix movie. They claim it's a "big budget" Netflix movie but I do not know what to expect from that standard.

I'm not a fan of Zack Snyder movies or the fast moving zombies.

The only zombie-related media that I liked in recent years was Fear the Walking Dead (the first three seasons) for its characters and writing. But I stopped watching it when they decided to kill off Madison and Nick, the two best characters in the show.

The most overrated director in all of Hollywood.

300 was perhaps acceptable and maybe Sin City. But the guy overall is terrible.

I know it's a popular opinion to not like Snyder, but I like the dude. I've really enjoyed a lot of his movies, Dawn of the Dead, 300, Watchmen, Man of Steel(some of Hans Zimmer's best work too), Batman V. Superman. I liked them quite a bit, he's had a few duds though namely: Sucker Punch and to a lesser degree Justice League. But overall I think he's a fine director. He's not dropping though provoking sociopolitical commentaries in his movies but they are fun popcorn flicks that are entertaining.

I definitely think he made a badass remake of Dawn of the Dead. I liked 300 a lot. That’s close to where it ends for me but I’m definitely willing to give this a shot.

WHOA! He's finally making this?

This is supposed to be a direct sequel to his Dawn of The Dead remake, right? At least that's how it was originally announced (fyi this was a project originally announced in the 2000s)

Could be interesting but Snyder has burnt a lot of good will with his string of crappy movies.

Also Zombies are starting to get played out and basically everything has been covered already in the genre. We will see if he brings anything fresh.

I will watch it it can't be worse than the Dead Don't Die

snyder news is nothing without stills or videos of what he's working on

I’m eagerly awaiting the trailer for this.

The Dawn of the Dead remake ended up being one of my favorite zombie films of all time. Went in expecting to hate it due to my love of the original but they are both able to stand on their own.

I cant wait for the inevitable Six Underground/Army of the Dead crossover! Snyder and Bay working and writing together! The universe couldn't handle that much slo-mo, spinning camera shots, propane explosions, teen girls fighting alongside grizzled US spec-ops vets, boots, so many boots!, and inexplicable fart joke gags running throughout the film.
