TEARS OF THE KINGDOM CAME IN AHEAD OF HOGWARTS LEGACY AND FIFA 23

The Legend Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was the best-selling physical game in Europe in the first half of 2023.

That’s according to information published on Tuesday by market research company GfK Entertainment, which said Nintendo’s Switch exclusive beat Warner’s Hogwarts Legacy and EA’s FIFA 23 to the top spot.

The data covers sales of boxed games in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain and the UK.

Tears of the Kingdom was the best-selling game in nine of the 18 countries, while Hogwarts Legacy topped the chart in four countries and FIFA 23 in five.

The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom was released on May 12 and sold 10 million copies worldwide in its first three days, according to Nintendo.

That made it the fastest-selling game in the history of the series and the fastest-selling Nintendo game for any system in Europe and the Americas.

Biggest userbase and highest review scores, likely the highest physical-digital split too.
Surprised? Nope. But it’s well worthy of the success 👍

Well deserved! Curious to see the total sales by now.
its very easy to make money when you are selling a $350 console thats actually a cheap Android tablet from ten years ago
Hindsight bias is bliss, people on here predicted it wouldn’t even outsell the WiiU before it launched.
