Zoe2 disc only: thx alot gamestop

So I got my copy of ZoE2 that I ordered monday - about to crack a drink and put the homework on hold for a day but... I open it and its only the disc, no case or manual. Is that supposed to happen? Has anyone else bought a used game from gamstop.com? I went back to check and nowhere did it say I was getting only the disc. Arrrr! oh well, im glad I got the game, but I dont have anywhere to put it. Can you buy full ps2 style dvd cases?

Question: Which do you think is more annoying: not having a manual, or not having a case.
I'd say case. Even if I cant figure out ALL the controlls just by playing, GameFaqs.com can conver any game ever. I kind of wanted the case art sitting up on the rack. The game is used too, so it doesn't need more scratched form sitting out. Can't wait to try this game out :D :D :D

This is a preowned video game. It is guaranteed to work on your Playstation 2 video game console and may not include a box or instruction manual.

I believe this is on every single pre-owned game page on gamestop.com.

well the good news is ZoE2 has a full tutorial built into the game, so you will be fine.

the bad news is you got screwed.

they are nice to have though you must admit.

seems whever i buy a used game there is no manual though, unless its a very recent game.

sometimes the manual has cool art and backstory in it. The case doesn't add to your enjoyment, but it looks alot better than CDR cases on your bookshelf, that makes you look like a pirate. And nobody likes smelly pirates, right?

I also bought a used copy of ZoE2 for my brother from gamestop.com last year. It came with no manual, and the cover had tears and rips in the corners, looked really dodgy. I was amazed that someone could actually accomplish that kind of destruction to a DVD insert cover. Felt guilty giving it to him in that condition, especially given all my vocal praise for the game.

Yes you did, ZOE2 has one of the nicest manuals I've ever seen- it's very slick looking and has some great artwork in it.

I've ordered exactly one used game from Gamestop online: Xenogears, a long time ago. It came with just discs, no case or manual. Haven't ordered a used game from them since. I generally get used games I can't find in a brick-and-mortar store from half.com.

It does kind of suck to have your shelf stocked with 50 games that are in their original cases and two games that are not. I bought Eternal Darkness used from Gamestop's or EB's website a few years ago, and it came with just the disc in a cardboard sleeve. It was annoying enough that I bought a second copy of the game when EB was selling it new for $5. I really don't give a shit about instruction manuals, though.

If I'm buying a game for collector value, then I usually want it to be sealed. That's what is making my Ridge Racer collection such a giant chore.

If I'm buying it to play it, on the other hand, I'll take it in whatever condition I can get. I would pay $50 any day of the week for a discs-only copy of Valkyrie Profile with a little bit of wear, and I have bought disc-only copies of Legend of Mana, MGS:2 Substance, and D2 among others with no regrets.

I'd never buy a used game without seeing the condition firsthand or having an auction/whatever explicitly state the condition of the unit i'm getting.
