I thought about that too.

edit: for those who don't know, at the end of one of Punk's matches he went up into the stands. Someone behind him pushed/slapped him in the back of the head, and Punk turned around and hit the guy he thought hit him. Tape later showed it was an asshole reaching around the hit guy who did it.

You should probably read the whole thread before making this post since there's video evidence of the fan saying "You're a piece of crap" rather than anything racist.

But you seem to think black athletes have the right to use physical violence against those who taunt (again, it wasn't racist) them. Does it apply to white athletes too? Your user name is very fitting.

Come on, guy. Im specifically talking about the use of racial slurs and the idea that blacks should just let it fly. That is what my post was based on. Even if that wasnt the case here it is still an ugly mentality that many at neogaf seem to share given the countless other times this issues has popped up on gaf. And No where do i suggest the use of violence for small and trivial matters. And nothing applies to white athletes. They are white and rich. Got it made.

You're not reading my post. Some of the arguments involved both people assuming a racist thing was muttered and expecting him to suck that up.

My post wasn't directly replying to yours. More of a sum of the vitroil in here; I was here during the assumption of the old man saying something racial and I still felt he should have flicked the guy off rather than putting hands on the guy however I can understand how one can react off emotion during a game.

I feel he called him a racist term. Its the only logical explanation for the behavior.

But when the forces of evil are the ones doing the evil? How are blacks supposed to attack and destroy the numerous double standards that the people in charge have set up for them? How are we supposed to combat the prejudice of the masses? We have already seen how stanford educated sherman was reduced to nothing more than a thug in a matter of seconds. Seconds. He is well spoken and ivy league educated. But none of that mattered when he "stepped out of line".

Calling a black guy a nigger or telling him to go back to Africa is worse than a light shove.

That's generally how it goes. You'd have an argument if Smart mollywhopped dude but he didn't.

One size does not fit all. Nigger is stronger than telling someone they suck, just like punching someone is a lot worse than pushing someone.

If you don't see it that way then that's on you.

Regardless of anything both parties fucked up. Smart should have walked away and all that. And the fan should watch his Goddam mouth.
