Doesn't read OPs, especially not his own
I'm not feeding you pop-O-matic.
Looking through my posts from the Smash threads was like a trip down memory lane. Good times.

And I really liked this:

What the hell is Mega Man doing there?
It doesn't say reduce amount characters.
I LOVE WOLF, though.
- Sakurai also talks about the difficulty in adjusting balances for things such as four player free-for-alls and 1-on-1 fights
- For these fights, their circumstances are completely different
- This can’t be helped at times, he says
- Ex: some attacks such as Captain Falcon’s “Falcon Punch” might work well when there’s more players, but might not ever hit during a 1-on-1 fight.

TBQH, I love the entire Smash roster as of Brawl and the bits of Smash 4 we know about. It might just be me coming back home after a long leave of absence with Brawl's waning appeal and my search for something to fill the void. It might also be a combination of learning Melee style game play with Brawl's roster thanks to Project M. At this point however, I don't think there's one single character that's out of place, should be cut or could move over for the sake of someone else.
Of course, I'm not Sakurai so it's totally up in the air until the discs are pressed, but I can only hope that he is working hard for the best outcome.
22 Characters are out so far and we know of probably half at the very least.
Out of these, the third party characters have been unlockables in Brawl so I can assume that Mega Man will be unlocked rather than be playable as a starter.
That leaves 20 or 21 characters who will be starters for the game which are announced so far.
Brawl had 25ish starters and 14 Unlockables.
Assuming that we have around 44-50 characters for SSB4, I'm guessing we'll only get a handful of characters revealed left while the rest are saved as secret characters.
The rest of the reveals will probably be made up of stage reveals, ATs, items, and better yet gameplay mechanics.
The roster's thinning out and I hope they cap the character reveals to about 30 maximum so that we can find out the rest of the roster ourselves.
That first DaBoss gif reminded me of my siblings going batshit when the Smash trailer feint turned into the actual Smash 4 trailer.
"YO ITS THE SYMBOL, SMASH TIME"
"...wait Animal Crossing?"
"Villager got his tax return, he's hype as hell-- OH SHIT ITS THE SYMBOL, SMASH TIME CONFIRMED"
*Montage of franchises begins; next few lines are punctuated by the trailer's music during that segment*
"Smash Bros?"
"Yes."
"Smash Bros?!"
Yes!
"Smash Bros!"
"Yes!!"
"SMASH BROS!"
"YES"
"SMASH BROS!!!"
"YES!!!"
nah
Sakurai should be like "there's x amount of characters in this game", and then gradually reveal them all
the salt that would flow from the last few reveals would be legendary

Nintendo really missed the ball with the launch trailer. Nothing will beat Melee's reveal and the genuine hype that came from it.
Because cuts have to be made in a post Brawl environment and no one likes Ike, Wolf, or Lucas for real.![]()
Maybe this discussion wouldn't trigger so many red alerts for me if people would leave Lucas alone. :lol

I genuinely think that if Nintendo would have held an actual E3 conference the Smash 4 trailer (and subsequent Mega Man reveal) would have generated mass hype in the crowd. Missed opportunity indeed.
WUT YOU SAY-
oh <3

Nah, Brawl's reveal will always be the most hype, even if it's only for the OMGWTF factor that Snake gave it.
why the hell did Nintendo not do an actual E3 conference
still makes no sense
Indeed. I totally understand. I am so happy that Project M, came to be though. Breathing life into my copy of Brawl.... invigorating.

wat?
What in the world, people were going insane over that.

I want everyone to take a moment and think about how fucking crazy this is
holy shit
Nintendo would've done the same for this if the Wii U wasn't (and still is) sinking so bad.

Melee was released 6 months after it was announced at that E3...wow.
That would've been unprecedented today, especially with how Nintendo does stuff.

uh, eh? Your the first person ive seen to have this opinion, you do know the trailer was suppose to start with a fakeout and reached some real highs all the way through, even the ending, went on long but just long enough that you started to really think there would be no "surprise announcement" and then boom challenger approaching comes up and suddenly god is real again. it was an amazing experience, so many emotions I had.
Thats not how game development works horizon.
Then why didn't they announce Brawl later (with the projected December 2007 launch)?
It may not happen with a new Smash Bros. game, but it happened with DKCR and Mario 3D World.
Actually, that's fairly in line with what they do now. Remember that Super Mario 3D World was revealed at E3 last year.
Are you talking about the SSB4 reveal that was streamed online or are you talking about when Iwata said that they would be on 3DS and Wii U.
The SSB4 reveal was hype, but what I'm getting at are the reactions onsite, at E3 or other conferences.
Fans will be hyped up no doubt, but its a special thing when they get really riled up in the crowd like when the DS and Metroid Prime: Hunters, Twilight Princess, and more were revealed. As much as I have an opinion on Twilight Princess, the hype after the game was revealed and after Miyamoto came on stage was ridiculous.
I expect a new Item. Been awhile since we've seen any. It will be fire emblem related.
What if the Double Cherry became an item for SSB4 and for a set amount of time, you'd get a clone of your own character doubling up on your attacks.
That would be pretty cool, especially with Ice Climbers. Double the Popo, Double the Nana.
