Yup.First show to really rival The Shield for me. Jesus fuck that was tense.
Oh my....This post alone has me excited to get home. I love Alfonso Cuaron's cameraworkThat scene probably made Alfonso Cuaron cry
Literally the most impressive thing I've ever seen on TV
the sequence everyone saw in the episode is, in fact, a true single take and one of the great achievements of filmmaking for television.

That tracking shot was almost 6 minutes long. I'm gonna have to watch that again right now

I love reading about production - thanks for posting the article.
Same. I had Michael Mann feel more than Cuaron, and that is probably because of the amazing lighting and camera angles.I got a huge Michael Mann feel from those last 20 minutes. Fantastic stuff.
Goddamn, that was some Children of Men shit. Awesome ending.
The brutality of the kills and the noise of the gunshots as they happen almost casually added to it.Same. I had Michael Mann feel more than Cuaron, and that is probably because of the amazing lighting and camera angles.
Fuck me bro...that episode was some next level shit!
That final sequence was god-tier...

That was one take? Emmy's ahoy.
Watch it be forgotten. It is February after all.
Shooting ginger makes no sense. While I admire that it was one take, I would have liked to see Rust go to all lengths to get Ginger in custody. A punch to the back of a big ass black dude is supposed to leave him incapacitated? It just wasn't that believable.
Meanwhile, Ginger is running away, I mean shoot the fucker in the foot or something.
Still, an amazingly tense scene.
Shooting ginger makes no sense.
Yeah, he basically needed to get info from the guy off the books. So, shooting him suddenly makes him a hospital case and then an official case and then he lawyers up.
That and just getting out of the neighborhood alive. Shoot Ginger in the foot and suddenly he's screaming, people are running towards them thanks to the gunshot, Ginger can no longer move, and he'll probably bleed out and die before they can get the info out of him. Makes no sense on every level.
