Suicide bomb instructor kills 22 pupils he was teaching

There are people who believe that violence and death of any kind is horrible no matter who does it and no matter what reasons, and believe no one should kill/hurt anything ever. I call them extreme pacifists.

For some reason this made me think of a quote by Christopher Hitchens:

“If the counsel of the peaceniks had been followed, Kuwait would today be the nineteenth province of Iraq. Bosnia would be a trampled and cleansed province of Greater Serbia, Kosovo would have been emptied of most of its inhabitants, and the Taliban would still be in power in Afghanistan. Yet nothing seems to disturb the contented air of moral superiority of those that intone the "peace movement".”
Believing that 'violence and death of any kind is horrible' doesn't make you a pacifist, let alone an 'extreme' one.

Please read the Quran before making claims that Islam is a religion of peace. The book calls repeatedly and relentlessly for war with non-believers. It does so with repulsive imagery of chopping off infidel heads, I might add.

You're right that the bombings are political in nature, but "political in nature" is not mutually exclusive with "religious."
I did not claim at all that Islam is a religion of peace. I have read the Quran from cover to cover. I'm a practicing Muslim, and Islam is not a religion of peace. Rather, it deals with war and peace. "religion of peace" was uttered by Bush shortly after 9/11, and became a source of mockery after that. It deals with violence, because the early Muslims were besieged with violence and had to take up arms to survive. Early Meccan Muslims were tortured, speared, and beaten for practicing their faith. Quran deals with the 3 wars that ensued between the Meccans and Medinans over a period of 23 years, and also various treaties that were formed with the Medinans, Byzantines and other polytheist tribes in the desert, violation of which resulted in battles. The verse you mentioned deals with one battle that ensued between Mecca and Medina, after 13 years of passiveness from the Muslim community.

I feel no sympathy for those idiots killed in that explosion. Each one of them could have potentially killed God knows how many people had they gone on to survive and do a separate suicide bombing themselves (In which they would have thrown away their lives anyways).

I won't make any funny puns about their deaths since it's still a loss of life which wasn't necessary but I'm not going to be shedding any tears over them either.

I have sympathy for any that were frog-marched into the building at gunpoint and forced to stay....other than that, then fuck 'em....22 potential disasters averted, plus how many others the scumbag trainer would have gone on to teach had he not been obliterated.

Certainly seems ironic how many people in this thread are screaming "ignorant idiots." Put your 10 year old self in the Afgani countryside herding goats when the town wise man asks if you want a better life. Most of the kids have no idea of the outside world.
* This is Iraq.
* You know as much about the lives and background of these students as we do, which is nothing.

Consider this this tautology: If you were born as these people, you would be these people. We don't know anything about them, but whatever led them to where they were, it's unfortunate for everyone involved.

The first inclination/reaction towards this story is that it is funny and those who attend the class deservedly get their comeuppance.

Although, in reality it is also a sad story that reflects how awful the overall living situation in there can be.

Except no.
Millions of people live in similar situations and yet they don't decide to become suicide bombers.

lol

"The militant who was conducting the training was not identified by name, but he was described by an Iraqi Army officer as a prolific recruiter who was “able to kill the bad guys for once.”"

You know they are happy as shit about it.

Haha, I had a huge smile while reading this. With all the terrible stories coming from that part of world, it's nice to hear something like this happening.

Lmao at the puns.

Dang man, you just pulled the same trick Fox News would do. If you are going to claim that the Quran is violent, you should read the whole book. At least understand the context of the part you read. I have a feeling I know what line you actually are quoting, since every news article that talks about bombings has one dude in the comment section who posts that skewed translation and claims that muslims are supposed to be violent.

Edit:
Here is the context

I have no pity for the dead individuals, but I fully understand people who believe that suicide bombs is the only form of resistance against the oppressive military might of the United States.

Against giants, conventional methods are useless. They cannot wage war against soldiers that are, from their point of view, equipped with future technology - not without resorting to unconventional methods.

I find it a deplorable tactic, for sure, but I understand it - and I think more understanding will help end the cycle of violence.

This is in Iraq the U.S is practically out of Iraq.
These bombs are for killing civilians and the Iraqi security forces, its mostly a Sunni was Shiite fight not a fight against the U.S.

Which from their point of view could be interpreted as yet another, lingering touch of American Imperialism.

The Sunni/Shi'a feud runs way deeper in Iraq than, "American Imperialism". You can heap that shit on the west if it makes you feel warm and fuzzy, but once Saddam got his ticket punched that country was headed for a shitstorm. Bush was just dumb enough to push the button. There are so many countries vying for power there, Sunni militias backed by oil money, Shi'a groups backed by Iran and various Ba'athists who may or may not been in the pocket of their patrons.

So they all passed?
