What's interesting is that PlayAsia stated Mario Golf is May 2nd as well.

I hope to god that the surprise isn't anything Kirby related. Other than Canvas Curse I hated every single Kirby game I played, I've had enough of that series.

You say this, but very little people seem to know this looking at aftermaths. Either that or they haven't interiorized it. And I know it's always like this, like I said, it's fun, love all the gifs and mockups, I'm not attacking anyone for having fun.

-mk8 trailer and details of its release, including a special edition or whatever they're going to do to try and maximize sales
-steel diver releasing on wii u eshop after the direct
-bayonetta 2 trailer for wii u. announced for 360, ps3, and vita at a later date.
-a look at upcoming eshop games, highlighting games like shovel knight
-luigi's mansion 2 hd redone slightly so you can play each mansion without stopping
-first look at nfc games

-dqvii announced for later spring
-smt iv announced for europe
-reel of upcoming eshop games
-mario golf shown off
-majora's mask 3d shown off, and people asked to please wait for the wii u zelda at e3

ends with an extended trailer of x, finally with a full name and release date

This is realistic but hype. Bayonetta 2 360/PS3/Vita would be sort of depressing but wouldn't really affect me. Majora 3D, DQ7, and Luigi's Mansion HD would all be nice surprises that are in the realm of possibility, all three of them within one direct would be megaton I'd say though unlikely.

Well they always say that they're gonna be focusing on "Spring only" or whatever yet last Direct they unveiled Hyrule Warriors and before in October they made sure to specify that it will be for "Wii U and 3DS games coming this year" yet at the end they revealed that Kirby 3DS was coming in 2014.

Now I'm not telling you to get hyped, as a matter of fact I actively encourage you to keep your hype as low as possible as I will be doing exactly the same. Just don't really take what Nintendo says before these Directs at face value.

I think you just illustrated exactly why I should continue to set my expectations low ;P

But yeah, it's not that I don't think they can't have surprises, it's just I can't expect anything but the most tepid of announcements. I hope I am wrong though. I'd love to be. I appreciate the Wii U, but without significant changes, I can't imagine how dire the future will be for us owners.

Isn't DKCR:TF releasing tomorrow in Japan? I think that they will not only show a launch trailer of the game, but also reveal a DK-related Smash Bros. 4 character; presumeably Diddy, but he is a veteran and IIRC they used the Directs to show new characters - so Dixie?

No matter what, I'm sure a new Smash Bros. character will be revealed

What if they announced an "N64 Gold Collection" featuring both retail and online HD releases of some of the N64's best games:

Super Mario 64
Pokemon Pak (Pokemon Snap and Pokemon Stadium)
Ocarina / Majora combo pack
Rare Shooter collection (Goldeneye / Perfect Dark)
Turok Triliogy
Kong Kollection (Donkey Kong 64 and Diddy Kong Racing)


I still dream that they do this one day...I know some licensing / rights issues would come up but I just loved the N64 so much...
