Nintendo Direct Feb 13, 2014 Thread | 3DS/Wii U Spring games

Yes, it's been retweeted by three people:

1) Yusuke Hashimoto, Bayonetta 2 producer at Platinum Games

2) JP Kellams, Creative Producer at Platinum Games

3) The official Platinum Games Twitter account

They don't usually retweet Nintendo Directs.

Thank you based god. Hashimoto is the director of Bayo2 this time btw, he was the producer on bayo1

Despite having already Bought two copies of Bayonetta for the 360, I would triple dip if this was announced.

Hell, I'd quadruple dip if it ever came to the PC too.

I bought the PS3 version for 8 bucks the other day so if it is re-released on Wii U I will definitely buy to support Platinum.

Got the soundtrack going for tonight

Timing suggests Reggie-centric with a pinch of Japan centric.

Have fun people. 10 pm is too late for me.

Low expectations for Europe:
3DS games will now be region locked by country
Third party segment: Shin Megami Tensei 4 formally cancelled, Reminder that Rune Factory 4 was cancelled, Etrian Odyssey Reborn demo out soon NISA have given us 1 use this time, use it wisely.
Chibi Robo in June
Kirby in May
NNID will be mandatory. Customers who bought games not available in their country will have these games completely confiscated as well as anything purchased using different currency.
Wii U region free
Due to Wii U being region free all VC games in Europe will now be updated to the European versions and run in crappy 50Hz.

Let me down NOE...

NoE will finally release the 20th Anniversary disc for Kirby under the new name of "22 Years of not really caring about Kirby" It will only feature a rather melancholic version of Green Greens over an animated bar graph of European sales of Kirby games and a KIrby skinned version of Wii Chess.

Remember in the investors meeting they talked about a future Wii U update with quick-launch feature. Maybe we'll have more info on that firmware update.

I know it may seem like a weird wish, but I hope they talk about Monster Hunter 4 Ultimate & Persona Q in this Direct.

Nice to see Shibata get his own hype train. He still seems to get left out of these kinds of things quite a bit, I suppose because GAF is fairly Americentric and they tend to not really get any exposure to him since he really only does Directs rather than the big shows like E3.

Thing is we didn't even know what he really looked like before the European Directs started happening. He's the Man of Mystery of Nintendo.

And now if I wasn't at work I'd photoshop Shibata as Austin Powers.

We'll definitely see something Bayonetta-related. That's why the Direct is streamed at 11pm (in the EU). In the German E3 Direct, all Bayonetta footage was blacked out (!) due to age restriction laws on broadcasting mature content. At 11pm, that's no problem and they can show the same trailers worldwide.

Which is so weird that Nintendo is even thinking about that. I wonder if they have something else as well that they want to show the world that would be banned in some countries.
It's just odd that this is a late Direct.

Please shower us in coconut cream pie!

Nintendo, Our Love Was Stronger Than A Golden Banana. Give us something!

What happened to that rumor about a game in the vein of Bayonetta or something like that which was meant to be exclusive. People were speculating it was Devil's Third, was there any truth to the rumor or was it debunked?

Still no confirmation to either way... Hope it's true though.

Sex scene in 30 second Zelda teaser confirmed!

- Iwata welcomes everyone to the Nintendo Direct and smiles; "Forget our financial stuff for a moment and remember 2013; a lot of our 2013 games were amazing and 2014 will be no different."
- "And oh, we read Some weird western messageboard called NeoGAF. We've seen the comments of the more cynical people out there. I have to warn those people; Nintendo Ninja's went into your homes and stored a surprise in your closet; a Nintendo Bennie. He likes to bite, so please understand; Some caution is needed."
- "For Neogaf mod EatChildren we have another surprise; his very own real life Cranky Kong. He poops a lot, so we did deliver a truckload of diapers along with Cranky. I hope you two become very happy together"

- "Oh right games. We will launch the DS Virtual Console on Wii U this spring. First titles will include Kirby's Power Paintbrush, Mario & Luigi Bowser's Inside Story and Advance Wars Dual Strike"
- As for GBA games... naaaah.
- Meanwhile, please be excited about Mario Golf World Tour because it will feature Yoshi's new evil nephew, Wayoshi. He's very cranky, even crankier than Cranky Kong. Oh btw, Cranky will join Mario Golf as well. He will complain a lot about the unrealistic power-ups.
- Yoshi's New Island will release next month and we apologize for it's quality.
- Kirby will release in May
- "You might ask yourself why I'm wearing Samus her helmet, but that's because I'm about to announce a new Metroid game for 3DS. Sakamoto-kun won't have anything to do with it though. I made sure of that. *laughs*

- "Oh, Wii U games. I hacked Soraya's account and got you guys all hyped for this Direct. I thought that would be nice."

- so yeah, that's about it

Would GAF prefer to:

see Project X, still with no firm name and no firm release date
not see Project X at all

I'd go with the latter

Hmm...

“His English was much worse than normal according to the translator on the set,” recalled the cameraman, “She kept asking him for reshoots because he kept stumbling over words and then he just lost it. He told her to fuck off in English and then started over from the beginning as if nothing ever happened. Things were alright until he went off-script near the end and started yelling in Japanese about how everyone who did not buy a Wii U will burn in hell.”

It's hard to believe the article with such statements. That's why I'm holding my breath of toward the veracity of what's written, especially toward the quoted part. I guess the Direct can shine some light on this.

Back on topic, HYPE!

I just want more footage.

The former. Always the former.

I should probably edit in here before we start that I'm not being entirely serious with this level of hype in this very thread. Oopsie.

...It's satirical.

I love you junior x3

Btw: Man, many juniors around here.

Yeah, guys, I continued to fast read the thread and someone said it was fake/satirical all along. The part I quoted raised my suspicion and you guys corrected/confirmed it to me.

How did you come to this conclusion?
11PM CST seems a bit late as your younger and older audience are both in bed.

Maybe they're just experimenting with how this changes viewership (was the previous time too early for America or Europe instance). But then again I guess all the times did not really put one region out too much (no 3am for instance) but I might be forgetting some schedules.
