Nintendo Direct Feb 13, 2014 Thread | 3DS/Wii U Spring games

Gosh this thread is moving too fast to read... I know! I'll clutter it up with a pointless post!

Seriously though, you guys, is there any chance at all that GAF won't go down?... I can't watch the direct and I want to know what happens!

sry thought we were comparing penises

Awwww...what a lovely puss!!! ^^^

I'm doing my best not to get hyped...but I can feel it building up despite my resistance...when will I ever learn lol

Edit: Aw bum, typed too slowly...the moggy is on the last page!

just out of curiosity what happens if this direct is not a disappointment and actually brings out tons of megatons and announcements?

what happens next?

First off, the idea that Nintendo Directs are always disappointing is purely bullshit; we always had nice surprises with the main Directs. The whole narrative is factually wrong, read every ND thread

Secondly, to answer your question: the GAF servers will be down for a long time, depending on how huge the announcements are. January 2013 ND was crazy

1) GAF goes down

2) 423049234029384098 new threads are created

3) Nintendo GAF cries tears of manly Reggie joy

4) Let it be known that 2/13 was the day there were no Please Understands, there was only Reggie.

Until reality strikes us in the face with NPD numbers :(

Those are all projects we know about, and wouldn't warrant these hype levels on normal occasions. Like if they just delivered that information in random press releases.

But this is a Nintendo Direct thread and nothing makes sense in this world. Yet all is okay.

Some people are very excited about games we already know of.

Bayonetta 2, Mario Kart 8 and X are heavy hitters to many.

The possible unknown would be a bonus.

Most of the directs have been pretty good, the few disappointing ones are few and far between

The people who are always disappointed aren't Nintendo fans

And the Lord spake, "Thine bodies were ready, and thus you shall be rewarded."

And the people rejoiced, and there were nary an understanding to be had.

Being the slave to Nintendo's charming form of abuse that I am, I always like to pump classic Nintendo soundtracks in the hours leading up to the direct. On today's menu, Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country 2, and... well, I'm looking for recommendations to fill the remaining one or two slots! What are some other gnarly jams I should be bumping to get my hype to max levels?

Majora's Mask OST and Kirby's Epic Yarn OST are awesome.

Announcement that would be amazing: Brand new retail game with a unique and compelling gameplay idea (with potentially a new IP).

Announcement that would be very good: Advance Wars 3DS

Announcement that would be whatever: New trailers and release dates for existing games, plus a forgettable downloadable like NES Remake or Dr. Luigi

Announcement that would piss me off: Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon Wii U Upgrade (or other ports)

I'm cautiously optimistic on this one. Wounded Nintendo can go one of 2 ways: awesome or stupid. Lets hope they pull off some sort of 3DS style awesomeness and blow everyone away.

This. If those 3 are being shown with great trailers and/or timeframes, the Direct has already delivered for me. Everything else is a bonus.

We have seen footage of X a grand total of twice. Bayonetta 2 has been properly showcased once. Both of these were the best part of a year ago. Given the amount of hype and discussion that those two titles generated, the likelihood that they're being shown off makes the hype for this make perfect sense.

There's a chance. If you can't watch and Gaf goes down, you can generally get a play-by-play on GameFAQs

I'm so ready for Dragon Quest VII.

Bring on the hype!

I'm gonna buy 7 copies I swear. Make that 70. I'll have my own tower of Dragon Quest VII.

I'm sure of it! It's gonna be announced.

I'm so sure. My patience is being rewarded.

I just want a new Metroid game from Retro, honestly.

Dat rumored second team.

A new trilogy o_o
