Titanfall Beta now taking applications, the thread of begging and whining

Just got another TitanFall email checked excitedly but it seems to be the same code that I got this morning. Shame as I would have given it to one of you guys.

LOL, I love the eBay listings that are on timers and not buy it now for a beta lasting a few days, by the time they win the key the beta would be half over.

Some of you are really taking this quite personal. I think you guys may have other issues to work out first.

Despite the miscommunication of whether or not it would be open, this beta seems to be operating just like any other beta. They register applicants, they roll it out to a small set of random people.

What do you realistic thing that they can change in the time span of less than a month? At most they can allocate more of Azure to Titanfall. But if that's there plan they wouldn't stagger the beta.

It's nothing more than a marketing stunt, with a demo at its center, and it works fantastic for them. Just look at how the internet has suddenly jumped on the Titanfall hype train again. It's front and center on every gaming site, the best kind of PR a game company can wish for.

And twitter and you tubers and quoting on GAF and guessing what number they are thinking to win. It's been a piss take.

Thing is, this isn't a beta, this is marketing. If you plan something for a small set of people you don't make a trailer and you don't tell everyone on twitter to sign up. That's what pisses everyone off, no one here got mad for not entering the alpha.
 
If anyone gets an Xbox code they don't need, i'll take it off your hands - I'll even give my monitor a thumbs (towards you, the giver!) up out of respect to you :D.

People were definitely mad about not getting into the alpha. Not as many as the beta, but there was definitely a vocal group. I'll give you the trailer, but announcing on Twitter to sign up for a beta that is meant to test server load doesn't sound farfetched.
 
i still have to wait for a match to begin before i can rejoin attrition matchmaking on xbox, or else i will get the same party i left originally, so there cant be THAT many people playing.

i also dont have any issues finding games (in attrition) otherwise.

People were mad because the alpha(ugh) was limited to the USA.

Hi thank for your concern but im actually fine. You see I happened to be in the right place at the right time to get the only reliable shot at beta access last night. Refreshing vinces twitter over and over boosting him into trending. Also being told to listen to a radio show in hope. I didnt realise I forced their hand in making this one massive marketing ploy?

What you guys may not realise im actually one of the few who isnt hyped for the game and am looking to see if this changes my mind. It i get a code I will hand it out on here because my interest is gone after last night. I will express again, that in my view we should not be expected to race for these damn things, which are now selling for hundreds on ebay which Respawn dont appear to be combating by sending out extra codes.

Perhaps I never saw a devs twitter account during a beta launch before and this is actually the norm? That I dont know. What I do know is that we waited for an email which they didnt seem to know whether it was going or not, or if it containrd pc codes or not, all while the codes slowly trickle out across the net in a way obviously manufactured to further the hype.

Maybe that is common practice but personally I find it crooked. Perhaps I am in the wrong and we should be ok with this seeing as im the only one who isnt. I can admit the numbers are largely opposing my view so its likely I am. However it doesnt stop me from feeling this sort of practice is messed up, whether I should be ok with it or not.

I still haven't received my e-mail for code (which I will giveaway if I get it). If it wasn't for the kind soul here on GAF, I wouldn't be playing. Hopefully, I receive one at least to give to one of you guys.
