Strider is 1080p/60fps on PS4/Xbone, Remote Play, Platinum trophy/1000GS

I hope they game is big enough that it isnt just giving you a trophy every time you get to a new screen.

Guacamelee was a good example of a game that shouldn't have had a full trophy list. Cant go 2 steps without getting one.

You're nuts. I earned that platinum, mang. :) Trophy pops only seemed to peak in the middle of the game on the first playthrough, then slowed until you beat bosses or finished things that required additional playthroughs, etc..
You can always turn trophy notifications off too.

I really want this game to be great... It's looking a hell of a lot better than it originally did. 1080p60 is great news, obviously... If the game turns out to be good, I'll probably just buy it on ps4.

Thread Title should really reflect it's 60 FPS / 1080P on BOTH PS4 and XB1. Nice to see it gets a PSN Plat too, but it'll probably only be 1000 GS on XB1, and 400 on XB360.

The also confirmed that the costume unlocks are mostly for color/texture swaps, rather than actual different designs. There may be a special unlock that goes beyond that.

It sounds like Normal difficulty is "Balanced for the modern gamer" hard, and that "Hard" mode is the "For people who played NES games" difficulty.

Looking forward to buying it for X1 next week! Could really use something like this on the console, I hope the fact there's little like this on the new generation of consoles really gives it a chance to shine.

I think they specifically said that it will be. I don't play on Xbox so I don't know if that's a lot or not? Is 1000GS essentially the equivalent of a Platinum on PSN?

Yup! On 360, Arcade games had 200 Gamerscore max, that was later raised to 400. But on XB1, all games are given the full 1000 Gamerscore allotment, with the chance to have more with DLC. So Smaller downloadable games, and larger retail games, are all treated as "full games".

It's pretty surprising to see PS3 and 4 giving a Plat for this game, as that doesn't seem to happen to anything but the largest downloadable games.

I really have no idea what the criteria is for a game to be pushed towards a Platinum; and when I say "pushed" I mean that games that have platinum trophies don't just have 5 or 6 other trophies, they tend to have a lot (30+) which I imagine could be a burden to devs who are porting their title to PSV/PS3/PS4 and don't want to be forced to be gimmicky to find 30+ ways players can earn trophies only to say that their game has a platinum.

I do know that there are smaller, indie games like Lone Survivor that have platinum trophies (and I thought they were pretty well thought-out too), so we're seeing it more and more.

"and there's Remote Play too if you want to live the life of an assassin while in bed."

I love comments like this because my Ps4 is in my bedroom :)

Wow, I hadn't seen anything on this game until recently, but now I'm super interested.

If we can't have Shadow Complex 2, then this will certainly do.

Played it for about an hour last night. Really fun. running at waves of enemies while hammering the attack button is really satisfying. The map(s) are a bit daunting because of the verticalility but its not so bad.

Haven't gotten any upgrades yet and only two new moves. The slide and the power slash.

Is there any comparison shots? I know it's 1080p 60fps on both, but is there parity in all the graphical effects?

So Hard will actually be not that hard. I hope there is a harder, hidden difficulty setting then.

Well, I'd fucking hope so. Game looks like a previous gen downloadable title.

What does that mean for someone who hasn't touched that before?
2D action game, think classic Ninja Gaiden. Strider's claim to fame were to huge sprites in comparison to similar titles.

Just played the demo on PS4 and enjoyed it even though this isn't a genre I particularly enjoy. Will consider picking up the full game.

Wait, demo is out!? I had a PS4 yesterday all day to me and didn't see anything Strider-related. (US and Mexican store)

Japan only atm.

Dammit!... Wait, the PS4 isn't even out in Japan, and the Japanese PS4 store is up with demos and stuff? It didn't occur to me to use my Japanese account out of curiosity. :(

1080p and 60fps on both the PS4 and Xbone - zero controversy to be found here.

It's held back purposefully on PS4 for parity with the Xbox One version! Microsoft conspiracy!

Yeah but we don't have to mention this in every fu%?$g thread.
Especially for a game like this...

It shouldn't be mentioned in every thread, but in threads specifically about the resolution and framerate, it's fine. You don't have to click on any of those threads if you don't give a shit.

Use the PlayStation app on your smart device using your Japanese account.
Select new games, then you'll see a list of PS4 titles to download.
Select the game you want and once you've purchased it from your cart click on "Download" to PS4.

Done. :D
