How dare I talk about a gaming device on a gaming forumDude, why are you so obsessed with Portal?
Why not just answer the question? Genuinely curious. What makes you like it so much? How dare I talk about a gaming device on a gaming forum![]()
It's Cloud Gaming ..... That's how it works. Why exactly would they target Portal?Pretty much uncharted territory & at some point a publisher/dev will realize they have this user-base to themself if they target Portal as it's main platform.
I'm a wizardOk so you are a troll.

I believe it's a few of these people out there. A strange amount of people got excited when the news about being able to play games that you own came out.I actually met a random dude who bought a portal and a sub instead of a ps5.
The same people who buy clip-on controllers for their phonesin the biz we call those... fucking idiots...
who would buy a PS Portal exclusively for PS+ cloud streaming?

Buying PS5 games without a PS5 seems like a weird choice to me personally but the younger generation is different.
No.Pretty much uncharted territory & at some point a publisher/dev will realize they have this user-base to themself if they target Portal as it's main platform.
Seriously. There's not a single publisher targeting Portal as a standalone platform. As long as it requires a premium cloud subscription or a console to use it isn't likely to ever leave accessory status.No.
The portal is an extension of Playstation(platform+service). That's why it's doing so well. Because it's an extension of a successful product.
He was actually middle age. That's how we started talking about games - There was a few dudes at a table and i overheard something (not gaming related) and I made a joke referencing halo. Can't remember what the joke was. I get pretty fucked up on karaoke night.
But I got the idea that if people were more savvy and knew this was an option, more would do it. It makes some amount of sense for a casual, really.
bro it is not a platform, like I am sorry you wasted money on that thing thinking it is gonna have its own games or whatever but it is not going to.Pretty much uncharted territory & at some point a publisher/dev will realize they have this user-base to themself if they target Portal as it's main platform.
I don't think devs will care how they reach the install base if they see the opportunity to take advantage of a situation they will.No.

It makes no sense for a casual. A sub service with a random assortment of games they will not care about. Casuals know exactly what they want to play and it's usually the same 5-10 games. Fortnite, GTA, Counter Strike, Apex, etc.
You have a very specific definition of casual.
They do care though.I don't think devs will care how they reach the install base if they see the opportunity to take advantage of a situation they will.
What does this mean though? Like use the lag or compression artifacts for some in game purpose?I don't think devs will care how they reach the install base if they see the opportunity to take advantage of a situation they will.
Like by releasing games for the PS5?I don't think devs will care how they reach the install base if they see the opportunity to take advantage of a situation they will.
I said target Portal not exclusive to Portal .They do care though.
Do you think they would rather make games primarily for a device with ~4 million units sold, or for a device with ~85 million units sold that can also be played on a device with ~4 million units?
That's like saying Netflix is going to make TV shows primarily for Samsung TVs because Samsung sells a lot of TVs when they can make the show for Netflix and anyone using any TV can watch it.
Ok, your thread makes slight more sense now, you should edit the OP because that doesn't make sense.I said target Portal not exclusive to Portal .
Portal has a touchscreen so it could be a PS5 game that take advantage of that feature, the fact that you can use the touchscreen to log into your PS5 means that it is functional beyond emulating the touchpad .
Stuff like Temple Run , Subway Surfer & Fruit Ninja would probably be a problem because of input delay but there is still strategy games & puzzle games that could use the touch screen as an extra input. They could also release earlier versions of PS6 games to Portal . Being that it's in the cloud without a set spec .
Well how do you define it? Someone who is gonna play Dragon Age Veilguard or Powerwash Simulator *streaming* to a handheld? I think you met a moron, not a casual gamer.
I believe Sony like the fact that people are buying their Remote Play device, especially with the data that Portal keep PS5 gamers engaged longer & the fact people are paying for a subscription with it so if they could get more people to buy it targeting it with a few games why wouldn't they?Ok, your thread makes slight more sense now, you should edit the OP because that doesn't make sense.
So you're saying, Sony should keep Early Access games to streaming and that devs should have APIs that are specific to Cloud Gaming within the PS5 game binaries.
That part I agree with, xCloud already does this, the GDKX has a bunch of Cloud Gaming APIs that the devs can optionally add to their Console SKU, to make the Cloud experience better. Like touch controls both native or overlay, automatic resolution adjustment to 4:3 or 21:9 devices. Both FortNite and Genshin Impact on xCloud take advantage of those APIs.
The part where you are wrong is, that these Cloud specific APIs wouldn't be exclusive to use on Portal, as they would apply to mobile phones, tablets etc. Unless you think Sony will not expand beyond the Portal.
Uh, no. No, they won't.at some point a publisher/dev will realize they have this user-base to themself if they target Portal as it's main platform.
Is he in this thread with us?I actually met a random dude who bought a portal and a sub instead of a ps5.
Again, the games are published to the home console, PS5 or 6 Orion. Sony and devs can add Cloud Gaming APIs to make the experience better on Portal, but there wouldn't be games exclusive to Portal. Just like there won't be games exclusive to handheld (Portable) most likely. But the handheld would have ability to at least run them natively if a dev wanted a game exclusive to it and Sony allowed it.I believe Sony like the fact that people are buying their Remote Play device, especially with the data that Portal keep PS5 gamers engaged longer & the fact people are paying for a subscription with it so if they could get more people to buy it targeting it with a few games why wouldn't they?
This isn't the same subjectThis could have been an incidental post in your last topic on the exact same subject.
