Ridley... I would love to see him being playable character just for my friends who have been fans of the series longer that I have been. I have a good feeling that he is going to be playable character this time but I wouldn't put all eggs in my basket yet.
My list fluctuated often when the characters that I wanted got confirmed so I had to replace those spots as I can.
if unlockable characters does exists, then I'm predicting those characters would be unlockable characters.

Mewtwo
Dixie Kong (or King K Rool. I seriously doubt about it tho)
Roy/Chrom
Takamaru
Shulk/Isaac
Palutena (if Palutena is playable character then I have a weird feeling that Medusa/Hades might be unlockable character)
Isaac is up there because he's an assist character, and he had game between Brawl and SSB4 development, so that might increase his chance to unlikely 2% or so. What would hold him back is that Golden Sun Dark Dawn bombed at the retails.
Also I would love to see Advance Wars to have it's playable representative since they have been with Nintendo ever since it's first system from what I remembered.
There are few characters that I truly wanted, but some characters that I have been supported because of it's histories or my friends really want to see those characters to be playable characters. I can't help but wanting to see those games being honored to be in Smash series since they have been with Nintendo ever since the series' beginning. Also Smash Bros is an All Star game that would dedicate to the franchises that have been bringing a lot of joys to people's lives. They kept adding a lot of characters and franchises to the series, but I remain to hope that they would add more franchises through stages, assist trophies and playable characters.
Stages would be perfect representative for Endless Ocean, Advance Wars, Duck Hunt, Golden Sun, etc so they don't need to have playable characters since stages would be sufficient enough. Nintendog stage is a good example of this situation.
Wishlists before anyone was revealed? Top spot is for both Ridley and Mega Man, but I'll just list everything else in an order.

After Little Mac's confirmation, I kinda want to believe in Golden Sun (Isaac), Sin & Punishment (Saki Amamiya or Isa Jo), Advance Wars (Andy & Sami) and even more niche things like Custom Robo (Ray MKIII) and StarTropics (Mike Jones) getting their rep, but if we strictly talk about what could happen while aligning with what I'd love to see, this roster has it all.
With this you get:
- No cuts!
- 14 newcomers + 1 character "lost in transition" on top of Brawl's 35
- Better female representation
- LOTS of new playstyles (Iaido, pixie boxing rushdown, "snatching/swooping" creature, mixed zoning, hair whips/flails, a more magic oriented ninja and a full on caster with optional knife normals)

As such, I can say that I've grown fond of a lot of different characters over time for their potential, but if you look at my top 4, you'll see that not much has changed coming into Smash 4. Robin is very interesting to me though. A mixed magician/knife or short blade user sounds right up my alley. On a side note, I hope if Robin gets in, he/she comes with a taunt that lets me put up his/her bitchin' hoodie for the remainer of the set.

Best part of the trailer, IMO. Just leaps straight through Mega Man's charge shot and decks him. I also love the bit where he runs right under Mario's fireballs. Just amazing.

Gameplay wise I can't decide which is my favorite part! I love the animated scene where he just goes beast mode while jump-roping and blows everything away. I mean who does that? lol. Yea the guy is super fast. He probably gets as low as Sheik.

Every time you guys post a roster prediction, I notice my eyes immediately do the following:
1) Make sure R.O.B. is there
2) Make sure Mr. Game & Watch is there
3) Make sure Pokémon Trainer is there
4) Make sure Ice Climbers are there
5) Make sure Snake is there
Then I double-check and:
6) Make sure everyone from Brawl is there
At that point I can take the roster seriously (although I could understand someone being skeptical about Snake, even if I think he has a good chance of returning).

This is exactly my prediction/wishlist, with the exception of a new Pokemon rep instead of Impa. Or perhaps let Impa be Sheik's spiritual successor or something. But even then I suppose the roster would have an odd square out. Either way I feel like the series (Pokemon) needs a new playable character, no matter who it is.
But more or less, this.

Same here. Most of Brawl's roster was close too what I wanted to see, the only characters missing to truly complete the roster for me was Mega Man, Villager, Mewtwo; assuming every from Brawl remained. 2/3 of those things happened. I'm pretty much content with the roster at this point.

This I think would be my guess as to the roster. Although I'd love for a dual pairing of Chrom and Lucina. I like that DK representation but I wouldnt care too much if Diddy was solo and Dixie or Cranky didn't make the cut. Although I think a special down activating a tag barrel to switch between Diddy and Dixie would be cool but I could see Diddy players being upset with his down special removed for a tag barrel swap with Dixie.Updated from my previous roster prediction...kind of simple to be honest though:
Edit: Actually swap Medusa with Ridley. I didn't notice that before.

I wanted Villager and Little Mac back in Brawl, so I'm fuckin stoked now that they're announced. And then there's Mega Man, which is just great. Samurai can throw in all the characters he want, I don't care anymore. I got the characters I wanted. I just hope he doesn't cut anybody from Brawl

That would probably be smart of me, but unfortunately I don't. I just make the individual tiles, cluster them together, and add border effects. It's really easy to add characters and change them around, though.
