IIRC the sanwa GT-Y octagononal gate was developed for Virtua Striker control panels.

If you're not playing 3D soccer games, you probably shouldn't be using it.

The percentages there aren't to the same scale. The octo gate has less area total so the neutral area is a higher percentage of the gate's total usable area. If you want to adjust the octo gate chart to the same scale as the square gate chart, scale the only area that's identical between the two (the neutral, so multiply every number by 11/18).

I did a check-fit and they'll go in fine... My only concern would be the 5-prong interface on the Hayabusa but you can probably either rotate the PCB or figure some minor mod so that's not an issue.
The Hayabusa base is a lot like the LS-32-01 base. It's bulky and not necessarily the most convenient thing to install. Clearance on all sides is definitely a bigger issue with a bulkier stick base like that...

I had to do some minor internal "pruning" on one of my TE's (Round 2, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 edition) because the 5-prong adapter of the LS-32-01 PCB was being impacted by cable bundling because of one of the plastic cylinders inside the case. I cut the cylinder down a bit with a Dremel and the prong isn't being bent or put under pressure anymore...

The stock wiring harness should just need to be rotated. The Hayabusa apparently has the same 5-pin layout as Seimitsu sticks, which means you literally just install the stick with the pins facing the same direction as stock then flip the harness over so the wires rotate and you're good. I've got an LS-40-01 in mine and before putting my PS360+ in a while back that's all I had to do since the JLF harness is a "mirror" of the Seimitsu one.

No kidding? Sounds simple. I'm not 100% clear on "then flip the harness over..." though. Care to elaborate?
 
Nice job, madcatz. I opened up my Namco TE-S to try and figure out why the plexi was bowing up at the back, and discovered that this shit is glued down all around the edges (unlike my SCV TE). Proceed to remove the retarded edge glue, replaced the top and put the screws back in. The middle top screw head fucking sheared off with barely any torque at all. Real nice. I'd be furious if this shit didn't only cost me the equivalent of 20 bucks on black friday from the Namcostore. Instead im just kind of annoyed.

I didn't like my hori that much, it was too big and uncomfy but it was built like a tank. Can't say the same for Madcatz, sadly. Might have to try qanba next.

That stick came and went very quick last year. Was available on amazon.co.jp till a few months ago.

I always wanted it but never got around to ordering. Probably good, and like the Persona.
 
Yep. The only region locked controllers I can think of are NES/OG Famicom, PC Engine/OG TG-16 (different connectors) and WiiU Game Pad (firmware lockout).

As far as I know the pinouts are identical and it uses a hardware bus, a region lock shouldn't be possible. I'd sooner say that particular stick was defective than claim it region locked.
 
... Is it weird that I like coming in here, lurking, and checking out the sticks you guys put together?

I'm not much of a fighting game fan, but some of the sticks you guys put together are really awesome.
 
I've seen the Mushi stick here and there in Japan, it shows up quite often in my hunts, not so much online though.

Also, I can't wait to go hunting! I'll be in Japan on Wed.!

Where do you go mostly? I live in Japan, but I don't really know where to hunt besides typical chain stores.

If you see any Hori 360 sticks with the old style headset/guide button plate, I want! Condition otherwise doesn't matter since I'm only after the plate and the USB cable to restore another stick.
 
I live in Tokyo, but don't know these places. ;_;

I've only been in one really cool gaming store in Akihabara, and that was Super Potato. You should definitely go there, Boss! That's where I was playing Mushihimesama on a cab the other week. They have a small arcade upstairs.

I just got my Hayabusa. Installing it now, pics and impressions later. I'm frustrated that I have to remove a piece of plastic in the MadCatz SCV stick in order for the stick to fit.

I swapped out the RBGY buttons for black Kuros on my 360 FE, but after screwing everything back together, I've noticed the right side of my plexi isn't laying down flush. The entire left and center of the plexi are flat, and It's flat near the front and back of the stick on the right side, but there's a couple mm gap in the center where the plexi bows out slightly. I've doubled checked to make sure there are no cords or anything preventing it from laying down flush, and it seems like it's the touch panel that's actually not flat. Does anyone know if this is normal (and perhaps something I just didn't notice before), or if I've somehow bent things out of shape?

New entry into the market. And it seems like a solid effort from Hori to be competitive.

Also, stick-wise perhaps between a seimitsu and a sanwa whi h is interesting.
