Time to see if this game has any redeeming value. I'm surprised people are so hyped for this when we saw nothing at all, before.

Yes; who knows if this game has any redeeming values? It might just be a brown screen with motion-only inputs. Who knows?

Huh? We saw a trailer at E3, which was damn impressive; it was the main cover story in Game Informer a few months back; and the press is hyping this game like hell. Plus Ready at Dawn has never disappointed before, so there's plenty of reasons to be excited for this. Not to mention the fact that people are comparing this to UC and TLOU.

Sunset Overdrive, Quantum Break and The Order:1886 are plentiful with hype, despite... as you said, very little being said or shown about them.

However, new IP, developer pedigree, visuals, lore, exclusives, and the little bits of trinket of news/visuals that pop up gets devoured and we're excited.

The Order simply happens to be the first in line, because we've known for around 2 months now that Sony's marketing team has something, which they have been keeping in their pockets until tomorrow's blowout.

OTOH, SSO and Quantum Break have been given zero hints that there's a media blowout of information from their camp anytime soon. All attentions on Titanfall.

From all the "behind the scenes" gossip @ Sony, this game seems to be placed right under Naughty Dog's shadow.

"It's like Uncharted 2!" etc. This end-of-embargo needs to define The Order on its own strengths and not pair it up against Naughty Dog or else this game will get the incorrect kind of hype.

No, he's somewhat right. The E3 trailer was just a cutscene, and there's been a smattering of previews since then. But until we see gameplay there's some big question marks remaining. Have the graphics improved since then, as they claimed? Are the destructibility and physics impressive?

There's definitely reasons to be excited from what we know so far though.

Are they gonna produce decent gamelore like they did for Killzone, I enjoyed it as much as the game. The knights are centuries old (is that right?)

Can't wait to get pissed off about chromatic aberration and other filmic effects that I bet are used extensively in the trailer.

I think RAD has intentions of building an entire franchise out of it, so yeah. Weesuriya has talked a bit about the background of the lore, like how monsters, half-breeds existed, how they represented a stronger force in the past of The Order, how there was a man named Arthur, founded the Order, etcetc.

We don't know how old some of these knights are. The lore states that they basically age extremely slowly or something like that, ( can't recall ), but it does seem like they've got a lifespan, since Galahad inherited the title, and is not the original Galahad.

It's just that I don't understand why people are hyped for something we know nothing about.

A story trailer and a few screenshots of empty corridors are what get people excited for games these days? Plus the press hypes games whether they deserve the hype or not.

Looked up what they did and all I saw were a few PSP games. I think I heard some of its members worked on Syphon Filter but I never played those games.

I'm just surprised by how big the hype for this game is, that's all. I guess it helps that it's one of the first games built from the grounds-up for next-gen.

the hype for this game is rather baffling, since there's practically no info about the actual gameplay and what its been shown is far from being exciting to me. Curious to see the trailer, which hopefully features gameplay

We know a lot about the game based on the Game Informer cover story.

What we don't know about the game, is what the gameplay looks like in motion. And based on the technical prowess of Ready At Dawn we have much to look forward too.

Not to mention as game designers, Ready At Dawn are brilliant.

Those PSP games were beastly. Ghost of Sparta was up there with any of the best GoW games, and its visuals were insane for a PSP title.

There were many high-quality PSP games that were by no means inferior to a AAA console game, in both their scope and design. RAD's Ghost of Sparta is one of them.
