Fuck this clean shit though

Nah I'd rather get it in good quality, smoke some good ass weed and let the album ride.

Clean streams just aren't for me I guess

Edit: yeah I'm real surprised at the thirst for this. Potential okayish numbers on the way?

It's not really fair to expect any modern hip hop album to stack up to GKMC. It's not untouchable, but that shit is rare. It's at a standard beyond most of these dude's reach.

I really like Q but that's just beyond his limits. Just hoping for a fun, replayable record.

Am I wrong? Again, I don't believe it's untouchable, but can you name a record in the same league of GKMC since it's release? Are there any currently relevant rappers with the potential of making an album of that quality right now? I'm a fan of Q but we all know it would never be him.

Maybe Kanye, but that's about it.

So excited for this album. Schoolboy Q was such a great surprise from a random playlist on Spotify last year. "There he go" came on and my mind melted when I heard a Menomena b side being used as a rap beat. Habits is one of my favorite albums in ages.

The new album can't drop soon enough. I wish he would release on viny though.

It really depends on the style of the artist. Danny Browns "Old" is probably one of my favorite albums the last 5 years. But he isn't on King Kendrick or Yeezy's level obviously, in terms of exposure. I've said it before but I'm not expecting some deep introspective stuff like Old or GKMC, all Q needs to do is drop 15-20 tracks of something similar to Habits and Contradictions and I'll personally be very happy.

Also Interscope is doing a hell of a job from keeping us from eating. We've seen numerous people with the album but no leaks. We're 6 days from release and I thought I would've already heard the whole album by now. I'm still buying my copy at Target no matter what, but at this point if it leaks I wouldn't be able to help myself.

I first heard the Hands on the wheel single, but sort of blew it off at the time. Then heard the two singles from oxy, and went to explore more. Same thing being melted with there he go. Then listened to Habits like 20 times in a week, and fell in love with almost every song. Alcohol made me warm up to the last ones I was holding out on.

But yeah, something about Q, his personality and vibe is really filling void that the scene was lacking, Black Hippy as a whole is just a tour de force.

Since its release, none. But in the past few years: XXX, MBDTF, and Death is Silent.

GKMC is still my favorite album this century, so I agree with the overall sentiment.

Hell yeah, Random Access Memories and Habits and Contradictions were the two albums I could not stop playing once I started listening to them last year. Like you, after a few listens, even the tracks that didn't grab me instantly I ended up loving on Habits. Menomena is my favorite band so it was There He Go on repeat for about two days straight when I first heard it. All of the singles so far from Oxy are great. I just randomly find my self saying, yawp yawp yawp out loud. Luckily my wife likes Q now as well so she gets the reference and doesn't think I am completely insane. It was great to see Q's personality that I "anticipated" from his music came out when I saw his interview on the Pete Holmes show. It always blows when you get into a musician or band and then you finally see or read an interview with them and they are complete pricks or douche bags.

Edit: Q's Pete Holmes Show appearance.

Edit 2: Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh shit! Just checked Amazon and there is going to be a vinyl release of Oxymoron. Fuck yes! Doesn't come out till March 25th but that is great news. Now just to get him to release Habits and Setbacks on vinyl.
