I think this is incredibly dumb and I don't understand why so many people are into it.

I can respect this actually. It IS kinda dumb. I can't stand to focus on watching it for more than 10 or 20 minutes.

I initially thought I would turn it on just for a few to laugh at the chaos, then be done with it. That was last Thursday. Now I'm checking this thread all day, and leaving the stream on in the background at home, glancing at it once in a while.

It's fun for a reason that a lot of entertainment is; it creates a narrative. The interface creates adversity for what seems like an easy goal (I mean most of us succeeded at this when we were ~10, right?). Everyone can feel like they're playing some small part. The conflict leads to this weird meta-story, then the participation element leads to community. It's good, goofy entertainment to keep checking on how progression occurs.

I'm surprised people are surprised. This has happened over and over again throughout the run.

Either a needed move is ignored or overwritten. At this point, be surprised when we actually learn a good move and replace a bad one.
