Man, Flux got perfected twice yesterday. Now he comes back, J. Wong is gonna download the fool easy for Grand Finals.
Its Rayray vs Noel the rematch.
He's A-tier and is a counterpick to Akuma. He's just not as BSy as the top 5/10 characters, which holds him back.
I think part of the problem is that a lot of the people doing commentary for BBCP don't have much experience doing it. All of the old anime heads that would commentate on old Guilty Gear or Melty Blood streams/videos... they either don't play/travel at all anymore or they have no real interest in BB. So there's a bit of an experience void there, and BB from CS1 to the end of Extend never really got much exposure, but it's blowing up with BBCP now. And now you have people who have little experience suddenly being thrust onto the main stream with 25,000 viewers and... yeah. As long as they don't end up in a perpetual rut of bad commentators who don't get better who keep getting mic time because of the clique they're in, I think you'll see people grow into it.They really need to step up their commentary, they need to realize not a ton of people play the games so goofing around on mic or just being like SUCH AND SUCH IS STUPID OR STRONG LOL doesn't do shit for getting people interested in the games.
Ray was going HAAAAAAMMMMM on that second round
SF4 heavily rewards characters like Akuma/Sakura/E.Ryu/Oni who have heavy burst damage with meter. We'll see if this changes in Ultra. So glad to see the switch paying off like this for him.
Just watched this, yeah it looks like a bug from what I can tell right now, he typically only does it 3 to 4 times mid screen but when he was in the corner he did it 13 times straight
Thanks for the links.
I don't know what it is about the hitstun in this game, but Slayer seems to be getting way more out of it than most of the other characters. The man is filthy.
All part of the master plan?
KILL ME NOW
Played some VF5 Final Showdown locally for the first time with some guys who never played Virtua Fighter before. Don't know if it was a lack of focus or the fact that I haven't touched the game in a few weeks, but I let myself get beat several times. I still won more than I lost, but that was still kinda embarrasing.
Kinda highlighted the fact that trying to remember how to play more than one character at a time in that game isn't especially smart. Played a lot of Aoi in VF4 and then went to playing Eileen in 5, and now I'm not exactly decent at any of them. I should focus on one of them, but it's so hard for me to choose. I love them both...

There's just a lot more minutae to learn, really. When you start a character you can learn what their best moves are and do universal combos or light/medium/heavyweight combos, but if you want to optimize expected damage from situations (in terms of move selection of combos), you really have to dive deep into the movelist. The gap between the 5th, 15th and 25th best move for a character in VF is MUCH narrower than it is in Tekken, there's a lot of situational stuff that will improve your game a little bit, but it all adds up.As someone not really familiar with VF, I'm curious about what makes it particularly difficult to juggle two characters in that game.
WONG SOULS
YOU DIED
Cammy, Akuma, and Sakura are all capable of massive damage with a single opening and bar. Fei's oppressively controlling and is a shoto-killer, and Adon's...Adon. Being able to convert meter into heavy damage is hugely rewarded in the game - it's not so much about "big damage" in general, but big burst damage when you have the opening.I disagree about SF4 heavily rewarding big damage characters (Akuma isn't really one of them). I'd say SF4 heavily rewards characters with safe pressure and the ability to restrict your opponent's options. The top 5 characters in ae imo are (in no particular order): Cammy, Fei, Akuma, Sakura and Adon.

They’ve talked about adding additional functionality to the official KI fightstick. Example: buttons flashing.
KI is getting close to the vision they want it to be. Will continue to add content to get it there.
There will be additional colors for characters in the future.
May be able to eventually use any accessory on any character.
Glacius has been the most difficult character to balance.
It takes around six months to design a single character.
They have been discussing adding additional training options.
No Mercies and Stage Knock-Offs are still planned. Will not be part of Season One.
If Season Two happens, it would be sold in a similar model as Season One.
Fulgore and Story Mode will both be in the same update in March.
There will be more characters that will not use only quarter circle inputs.
