There are more modern kids cartoons that have episodes that feature arcades than there are actual real life arcades.

Every time I see a cartoon with an arcade in it I wonder "Does this shit take place in the 90s or something?

Oh cool my account's been activated. Sup FGCGaf? Been lurking these threads since the 2012 season and decided to make an account a few months back to be a part of these. Please be gentle

So uh, I wanna get into fightan games seriously. What should I play? I'm pretty sure I have all the essentials except for Tekken.

Welcome to FGC-GAF! You can't go wrong with the latest iteration of Street Fighter, it will teach you the basics and lots of people play it.

You mean you can't go wrong with the best iteration of where it all started, Super Turbo.

Out of all the games to pick on you choose 3s? Shame on you.

I dare say shame on you, good sir, for not picking Super Turbo =)

---

In all seriousness, it does come down to the game that you have the most fun playing. If you're not having fun playing it, then what's the point?

Put another way, at first glance, from the games that you know, which is the one you're most likely to want to take a stab at first? Go with that, see how it feels.

Rebel Up Super Arcade is tomorrow, and we'll be running a new game in Numakie and mine's series: Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars! We will stream it along with the other games we are running: Aquapazza, Vampire Savior, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Melty Blood.

You can catch the stream at: http://www.twitch.tv/numakie

For those of you watching the stream, the schedule would be something like this:
4pm PST/7pm EST: Aquapazza
5pm PST/8pm EST: Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars
7~ish PM PST/10~ish PM EST: Vampire Savior
8:30~ish PM PST/11:30~ish PM EST: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
9:30~ish PM PST/12:30~ish PM EST: Melty Blood Accent Again Current Code

(Keep in mind, if you are actually attending the tournament the start times will be a bit different)

There should be the same usually high level TvC players that play on my own stream frequently like Royal Flush, LLND, myself, Phampy, and hopefully a few more two that show up! We'll be doing a tournament for TvC as well at SCR, not sure if we'll be able to stream that or not though.

Yup, we are covering a pretty wide range style's and doing so with legitimately fun games, and still fitting in with Rebel Up. I'd love to play Alpha 2 as well but it really wouldn't fit, lol. I'm pretty happy with how its turning out.

Looking at some of those images I wonder how long it would take for them to transfer Blazblue over to the same tech they're using for GGXrd.

They already use 3D models for all the animating. Not to mention efficiency increases after becoming familiar with previously unfamiliar tools and technology.

I expect the next BB to go 3D. There's not much reason to stick with hand-drawn now.

So I decided to actually check out the mission mode in BBCP... it actually has a slowmo feature on the combo demonstration.

Fucking genius lol

BBCP plays notes for each button.
Yup BBCP's mission mode is pretty good and because the game came out so long after the arcade release a lot of them are pretty solid BnBs that are great for getting started.

The way they have them set up is great too.

The earlier missions are small chunks of the full combos

Also I really hope ArcSys uses the hype and knowledge they gained making Xrd to make the next BB in the same way.
