Fighting Games Weekly | Feb 17-23 | United, Divided, Anime

Rebel Up Super Arcade is tomorrow, and we'll be running a new game in Numakie and mine's series: Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars! We will stream it along with the other games we are running: Aquapazza, Vampire Savior, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, and Melty Blood.

You can catch the stream at: http://www.twitch.tv/numakie

For those of you watching the stream, the schedule would be something like this:
4pm PST/7pm EST: Aquapazza
5pm PST/8pm EST: Tatsunoko vs Capcom: Ultimate All-Stars
7~ish PM PST/10~ish PM EST: Vampire Savior
8:30~ish PM PST/11:30~ish PM EST: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure
9:30~ish PM PST/12:30~ish PM EST: Melty Blood Accent Again Current Code

(Keep in mind, if you are actually attending the tournament the start times will be a bit different)

There should be the same usually high level TvC players that play on my own stream frequently like Royal Flush, LLND, myself, Phampy, and hopefully a few more two that show up! We'll be doing a tournament for TvC as well at SCR, not sure if we'll be able to stream that or not though.

Good stuff, love watching your TvC streams.

Wouldn't let me join send another invite please

Messed up again, I'm just going to create a room now. Maybe that'll work

Oi won't let me do that either, going to restart

AE rooms really that clunky? Been like 2 years since I've seen one.

I wanna hit training mode with Yun today but there's only a week til SCR and I gotta get ready to win VF.

So this kid came into my restaurant with his family and was playing Injustice on iPad. He was playing Black Adam so he's already good.

And he was up and playing at 8 am. So I think he would be a good role model for other Injustice players.

Honestly I would love some kind of app that would help me practice while I'm waiting around somewhere. I used to practice pianoing for SF4 on the subway and things like that, helped me learn it fast.

GGs Panda, Kadey, and Soused Louse.

I don't know if it was just my net or PSN, but there was a hell a lot of lag today. :(

I wished you would have picked Dic again Kadey, since I need to learn how to play against that character better. I forgot how many characters you play.

Panda, I think Fei's HP or MP rekkas will punish my back dashes after a blocked drill. The light version doesn't go far enough. His ex flip kick thing might too. Which I noticed you weren't doing a lot of by the way. You should use it more to punish my fireballs (Rose's fireballs especially take forever to finish animating) or just to get in and create pressure.

His command grab too! I wasn't worrying about it at all. After knocking me down you should have just let me hang myself since I kept doing wakeup reversals so much. Just sit back, and punish my EX drills with cr.mp xx rekkas or whatever Fei's punishes are. And while it's scary to focus against Rose with her drills, his focus is still great. Lots of reach.

Soused Louse, you were respecting me too much. Just roll on in and go crazy. I'll end up killing myself since I like pressing buttons all the time.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind next time.

There was a point where I remembered about the focus but I wasn't really sure when to use it exactly.

I'm probably not the best person to give advice for this since I also forget I have focus sometimes lol. I'll give it a shot anyways

Well, it's not bad idea to start using it to absorb my fireballs and dash in to close the distance or at the right ranges to start up your pressure.

You probably noticed that I like throwing out a lot of her far reaching normals to stop you from moving forward or trying to catch you pressing a button; that's not a bad time to focus especially if I start getting predictable. Make sure to do just a quick level 1 Focus. It will crumple me and leave me open to a bigger combo because it's a counter hit.

It's also good idea to just sit back absorb fireballs to build up your ultra meter too (I think Fei's ultra 1 can punish fireballs on reaction) if the situation calls for it. Just remember to be mindful of your grey health so you don't end up accidentally losing a good chunk of life.

By the way, after hitting me with your rekkas you should really dash in or do his flip kick before I can get up to keep the pressure on.

Edit: Also, if you can manage it, it can be pretty useful to stop my offense cold if you can time the focus right. Like when I'm fishing for a cr.mp xx drill, focus the cr.mp and let the focus go before I can get the drill out. It's not foolproof though and I can sometimes still get the drill out in time for a trade or simply do a ex drill if I realize it in time.

It's always best to just not be too predictable with your focus attacks. Keep the other guy guessing and worried.
Haha yep, last time I played Kadey she kicked my ass hard, with multiple characters.
I kept thinking that I was secretly lucky that PSN is so rough today.

Ah man that's disappointing, Guess you are just better off going for a heat knuckle ender then.

That reminds me I was watching one of the longer vids in that channel which was Slayer vs. Potemkin and...I think I saw Pot do a 4 hit chain combo and it took 25% of Slayer's health O_o
I'd need to rewatch it again but with Potemkin, he can dish out damage just fine in this game like in past GGXX's.

I was in yolo mode with the lack of sleep and being irritated with offline stuff. Took a nap and I feel better.

If you're going to take the game seriously. Do not play Fei on PSN. I feel the timing of his rekka combos and setups which are the keys to his success are harder to time. Being able to do his stuff on 360/PC and PSN is like night and day. Same goes with Sakura and a lot of characters with one frame or two frame links. Grapplers and charge characters are alright to play on PSN but I feel the others require harder timing to their play. And that's besides the feel of being oppressed when playing PSN online.

PSN is just as good as Live for every FG I've played, imo. It's SF4 that sucks over PSN not PSN sucking while playing SF4. Especially sucks if you were recently playing the game on 360.

Played +R with some friends last night. Almost forgot how much fun I have with GG.

Gonna miss some of Ky's AC tools, but Xrd Ky looks fun too.

Sakura absolutely is a pain to play on PSN, that's my main.

Third Strike after the recent patch runs beautiful on PSN though, that's all I play right now.

Some devs didn't do a very good job with the PS3. Capcom especially. Namco had trouble with SC4 as well.

The PS3 port of FS also has inferior netcode, though I think it matches the 360 version otherwise.

Seriously, I went to a tournament a couple years ago and had only played the PS3 version of SFIV a couple times at a friend's place early when the game came out so I didn't really notice the difference. I got bodied so hard though because I couldn't get any of my Guy target combos to maximize damage. I never really noticed the difference until then, the 360 is just way smoother of a game.

It was kind of hard to kick it into gear on UFGT planning this year. I usually start heavily a month before now. But now that I'm back into it full steam it feels good to get over that hump.

Am I the only man to never really have a problem with PSN on PS3? Constant smooth sailing with 4 bar matches in multiple games with the occasional 3bar. Marvel PS3 online and offline is trash tho

Have you ever played on 360 before? It can be tough to notice a problem if you can't compare it to anything. A friend of mine used to play only on PS3 but he noticed a difference after playing a set on 360.
