I don't want to have this argument but the irony of this is that I'm watching marvel, hearing Jwong talk about teams that make you watch movies, while reading this post.

One hit dead, Zero, full screen foot dives, unblockables, xfactor 3, happy birthdays, xfactor 3 Vergil, Morrigan shenanigans, Doom missiles, and more unblockables as well.
At least in SF4 you can play a footsie game and try to push someone into a corner. One hit in umvc3 turns into a combo that backs them into the corner and then hope you guess right when you come in.

Yeah, I think we can all agree there is some definite bullshit in AE, but anyone saying it's on par with Marvel is insane.

Yea man Sakura one crouch MK turns into a 50% corner carry combo where then you have to eat a super ambiguous/unblockable setup.
Its not much different.
Marvel neutral at a high level is the same concept just in a different game engine. Try to push your opponent to the corner where you have a major advantage.

Sakura is hard to play against if you don't know the matchup.
You'd think ChrisG would be winning in SoCal but for the past two weeks, he's been shutout. Alex Myers beat him in a mirror match and just last Wednesday he got taken out by a Balrog player.

Nah man, from what I saw, no one was throwing insults. We were just having a discussion, the whole point of posting on NeoGaf. People disagree, that's why we bring in our points. If you honestly thought we were insulted then I don't even know. We just don't appreciate it when people just question an audience for their preferences when the same can be said about the other. You like miracle whip or regular mayo? Do you man, don't have to take a dump on someone for liking something you don't.
Nothing wrong with not getting "hyped" for a game anymore. It happens with me for a lot of fighting games. Then something will happen and I will be all for the game again, lol.
This has always been the case in Marvel though, in the early days of the game up until now. It's what makes it different and serves as a foundation for the series. You have to create something that your opponent isn't ready for (or the audience isn't ready for if you're watching), which makes it hype.
It's also what makes the neutral even more demanding of the players. It does upset a lot people that it demands a lot of the player though, and people like hucast21 sort of play it off as not mattering because they try to apply Street Fighter conventions to Marvel like "it has no footsies!"
Oh right, because negative comments are always better than well articulated criticism, right?
This is an example of probably the worst problem of fighting game threads at large on GAF.
