I really liked the big ocean parts of Hoenn. It felt like you were really exploring a sea rather than in other regions where the water routes are basically a straight line blocked off by rocks.

There was loads of cool stuff to find as well. A weird cave which changed with the tide, 3 different towns, loads of places to dive, a villain base, Victory Road, Sky Tower...

Then again I liked sailing in Wind Waker. Maybe I just like the sea.

I was really shocked when I started using the internet regularly and saw all the WATER WATER WATER complaints. People act like the hoenn games were the video adaption of waterworld when in reality you spend 80% of the game on land...

Not at all, gen 3 was the second one I 100% completed, after Blue.
And the first one I bought both version at launch.

I didn't. Only time I wasn't really into it was after DP, but I blame that more on the games sucking than anything.

if we want to translate the IVs and EVs to the 6th gen, how it would be ?

For DV to IV you could do (DV *2) or (DV*2+1). Every stat has a DV and this value lies between 0 and 15.
EV's are a bit more tricky. Stat experience can be maxed out for every stat individually.

EDIT: One way to translate stat experience to EV's would be to take the stat experience and divide it by 771.
This way EV's for a single stat would cap at 85 though.

SaltyBet was like that, it got big quickly but now it's popularity has diminished greatly (though I bet the guy made quite a few bucks off of it). Most people think G/S has the best campaign out of any title, so people might still watch because of that. Gen III though...
