Twitch Plays Pokemon Thread 3: Return of Red... Aussies win again!

I cant see it being anywhere near as popular, although yeah there are still 30,000 people watching the stream even though absolutely nothing is happening lol. So I guess it could have a chance.

While I don't see it hitting 120k+ views, I do think it will still have a healthy amount of participants. Especially since we're starting from the very beginning and many will want to get in on that. (the stream didn't really take off until Cerulean City)

If Gen 2 is what's happening, then I'm gonna say right now; their adventure is not getting anywhere if they pick Chikorita.

Shittiest starter in history.

Also, I can't imagine them making it through all 16 badges without teaching something Fly. Simply won't happen. The travels would be too ridiculous otherwise.

Just watched the highlights. Venemoth and Pidgeot using up the blizzards, disabling the hydro pump, still wish zapdos used thunder instead for the epix. Glad the surf and sky attack came in when needed.

Still say that zapdos was crucial to winning this fast. GG twitch.

Thunder was all out of PP i believe. :(

Yeah Chikorita is ass, especially cuz the first 2 gyms are Flying and Bug. Also the 3rd gym will be hard as hell, dat Miltank will obliterate us for a while. Gotta remember to pick up a drowzee to trade for that Machop or we are dead meat :lol.

All hail king Totodile.

You guys really underestimate their ninjas.

If they wanted it down, it would have been down a long time ago considering it's everywhere on twitter and many sites they do acknowledge have had stories on it.

We'll probably release our starter again anyways. Who needs him when we can get Pidgeot again!

Assuming this is gonna be gen 2, I am so hyped to get killed by that Miltank.
That damn Miltank.

Teenagers tend to avoid Pokemon since it isn't "cool". I know I sure as fuck stayed away from it during high school.

Did anyone else go through a "too cool for pokemon" phase during gen III? Or was pre-teen me just a dick?

Hasn't happened to me yet. Likely won't, because IDGAF and competitive pokemon is awesome for when I'm tired of normal pokemon

BEsides, grew up with gen 3, although yellow was the game I played first. I have an attachment to Saphirre though, less to yellow

Someone's gotta tell them it exists first. They don't know what's goin' on with the internet. If they knew about Twitch, they would probably shut the stream down.

Even then, they would shut the Tetris stream by mistake.

They know it exists. There's no way they can't. It's a hacked rom so them being silent is probably all the encouragement they were willing to give.

I actually like the anarchy/democracy since it gaves a new dynamic that could reach even more chaos (not in the game but internally) at least reading the tv tropes entries you see that is more funny to read all those changes nulling the achievements of the other instead of just reading "red was stuck for fifteen days on a ledge)

Besides, with that system, you are still giving the stream a real input on the game, since with the original, it was still a random playing. Also the original system will be cool if weren't for the obvious spambots.

I think that everything resulted great, the streamer made good choices. Now I wonder what other changes could we see in GSC

DAMN IT AUSTRALIA. FUCK IT WE DID IT.

NOW LETS PICK TOTODILE.

It's not going to happen. We'll get Chikorita

Watching the entire successful E4+Champion run and I'm annoyed and frustrated

A clean Lorelei sweep, a meh but only lost Lord Helix run to Bruno, a clean Agatha sweep, etc.

Watching Lance

And that Blue battle was all perfectly timed

So Gold/Silver is starting in 19 days? Cool.

EDIT: Oh 19 hours! Sweet!

Still can't believe they actually beat the entire game, and so quickly too. They plowed through the Elite 4.

Geez Professor, you didn't have to go that far:

Also, there's gonna be a lot of trouble spots in whatever GSC game we play:

- First route of the game: LEDGES EVERYWHERE. And you have to navigate it twice within an hour plus again to go to the Elite 4.
- Getting Cut requires the Mankeys to navigate a somewhat maze-like forest to trap Dux's younger brother
- Whitney, 'nuff said. (Unless they can catch Keeper 2.0 and trade it for Machop in Gold or Silver... In Crystal it's an Abra, praise Helix you can buy one at the Game Corner)
- Getting to Morty in Ecruteak Gym
- Ice puzzles in Pryce's gym and the path to Blackthorn City
- Clair, and then having some minor ledge work to actually get the badge
- Mt Silver's first room, since there's no bloody way they'll have Flash at that point

That all sounds easier than the ledge.

I'll watch again if it's primarily anarchy and there is a system in place for timed elections, and it isn't an ever present power struggle between control schemes.

Why did I have to go back to school this semester? Between that, my internet magically being assy as all hell lately (FUCK YOU VERIZON DSL), and the longest week of studies ever, I missed like everything including the end. ;-----;

I've been here since Mt. Moon too. :'(

On another note, I don't know which one they should pick if they move into G/S/C.

Gold: Because you don't play the original Gen 1 or 2 without having a BASED Arcanine in your team. The chances of them catching one are slim but better having the chance than nothing at all. (LolVulpix)

Silver: Because Typhloshion (if Cyndaquildagawd is chosen), Lugia (dat silly assed Aeroblast crit rate) and Umbreon are all anyone needs to solo most of the game until early Kanto but Lugia with early Aeroblast is only available in Silver.

Crystal: Because Kris.

So hard.

Just watched Lance. Now that I've seen the entire run, here's an approximate reaction to me missing all of this

fvonhwjsdIO isWHHHHHHYsvdo pipia

NOOOOOOOO
DAMN AUSTRALIANS
NOOOOOOOOO
WHY!!!!!!

DARN IT, I wanted 200,000 people to tune it to the stream when this all ended. We all did this together and as many people as possible should watch it together.

What time of day did it end? In Eastern time?
