Pokémon in Gen I and II have entirely different data structures than the ones from Gen III onwards. You could only get approximations, not actual clones, in X or Y.

What sucks is its starting at around 5 am my time, would have really liked to see the very very beginning but i hope there will be highlights
I have to eat crow on this whole thing, I thought they wouldn't make it past brock let alone beat the game, and the whole meta-stuff coming out of it is amazing

I wouldn't want it for the main event but, to be fair, speed democracy seems like a decent idea.
Eh. It sounds like he's just getting a bit annoyed by people being rude about his project. Assuming he is doing it simply to see if it can be done, the rudeness would not be justified.

All of the amazings.... I'm glad there are people who jumped off the beaten narrative to make things like this. I really really hope we're playing crystal and we manage a female trainer... I think that'll give it enough difference in the narrative deparment... I just feel another male trainer run will all too quickly fall into old habits (fossil worship, etc) and will kill itself off before we could see great new artworks/stories like this.
Doing an E4 run on the last game that wasn't piss-easy (BW E4 run with my story team before I transfer them over for old times sake, I nearly want to cry), I notice how much I have to heal with items between matches to not get slaughtered.
We depended so much on terrible AI to get through the most difficult battles. How long will it last? AFAIK Gen II AI was much more competent.

Not to mention Red would have wisened up and replaced Lapras with Rick Gengar/Keeper

Nah, I think my theory still holds true that he now lives in the cave to feed off the echoes. The 'voices' may be gone, but he's become so reliant on them, that he now mutters them to himself and the echoes of those mutterings are reassuring/empowering.
Let's not be silly, boy is still pretty crazy.

So through the use of a few tools to export & convert pokemon from Gen 1 up to Gen 5, and then through the PokeTransporter and Pokemon Bank, I managed to get the team from Twitch Plays Pokemon into my Pokemon Y save.
Sample:
Zapdos' take down and one of Omastar's moves were illegal in modern pokemon, so they were replaced. Otherwise everything is as in TPP.

Even if they could get the comands working, would the DS gen even work? Don't they need touch screen control for certain aspects of the interfaces like the PC?
