I have not played Uprising myself and very little of the OG Kid Icarus, so others could probably inform you with more detail than I but from what I do know; She is a badass goddess with green hair, light magic, a staff and shield wielder who apparently has an amazing personality and is very humorous. Also her relationship with Pit is supposed to be pretty adorable. What isn't to like about that?

Mewtwo/Chrom (though I would highly prefer Robin)
Ahh, that could be pretty cool, then! I am ALWAYS down for more magic users. I have a ton of fun using Zelda as my secondary in brawl and just artillery-magic-bombing people into the top of the screen. But I still would be more excited to see other IPs not explored in smash. Seeing Chibi-Robo would make my heart smile. Can we get Steel Diver as a playable Character?

Ha, I feel you on magic users and Din's fire star KOs. Palutena seems like such a logical pick but we will see. I am down for new fighting styles as well, which is why Little Mac will be so great. Dat super armor.
Chibi robo is one of those niche picks that is just so crazy it may actually be a wtf character. I would be so down with that, even though I only ever played a tiny bit of his games, the cuteness factor would be off the charts. The charging gimmick could be all sorts of fun and could be like a variation of the Stamina mechanic for PT, except that if you are fully charged, you do extra damage instead of suffering from stale move syndrome.

Haha, nothing wrong with positivity. Sorry to hear that about Starfy though. Yeah, Palutena will be legit. Other reasons to believe she will be playable would be of course because she and Pit are kind of Sakurai's baby at this point due to Uprising being his last project, not to mention all the POTD teases we got after the supposed leak

That game's easy.
Ridley, because I adore the Metroid series, it desperately needs a new rep, and a flying-based character would be a lot of fun.
Professor Layton, because I love his games, I love him as a character, and he would lend himself to all sorts of potential interesting playstyles. He's one of those characters that it would just be cool to see how they did him - much like Phoenix Wright in UMvC3.
Wonder Red, because I've been playing The Wonderful 101 lately and it screams to have a rep. Plus however they chose to incorporate the gameplay of having a bunch of people at your side to Unite Morph would no-doubt be really neat and unique. Also he's just a great character.

Rather random but I was thinking about the Phantom in Zelda's reveal pics and I feel like there is a good possibility of the answer to what it is exactly will just be revealed randomly in a POTD much like the Gyroid ability of Villagers, because remember how everyone was speculating on whether it was a stage element, AT, or a part of his moveset then months later we got the answer?
I hope this is the case anyway and I hope it is a part of her moveset somehow, whether replacing down b sheik transformation or not. (obviously not replacing sheik but if so, Impa as seperate character pls)

Oh jeez, the Phantom, I almost forgot about that thing. I really wish Sakurai would explain what the heck is up with that, because I want to say out of everything shown so far it is the biggest unknown (after 3DS's mysterious single player mode). I like how he just dropped it in her profile pics with absolutely no context and here we are over two months later and we still have no explanation.

Assuming the Phantom is Zelda's new Down-B, which I've been leaning farther and farther towards believing as time has gone by, I wonder how it would work?
My best guess is that maybe she summons it to sit on the stage and it attacks any opponents that come by, similarly to how the Phantoms worked in PH/ST. It would further cement her playstyle as very stage control-centric.

Things like this are why I really love the new Dojo format. It leaves more to the imagination and adds tons more room for rampant speculation. I want there to be plenty of surprises, personally. I hope the Phantom is a part of her moveset, but I don't want her to be a stand character, nor do I think it likely with Rosaluma already filling that unique role. I think it would work better as a stand move. Was Din's fire ever confirmed btw, because if not, it easily looks like it could replace it as her Side B, though that would mess with the consistency of having all the goddess powers as her specials.
other mysteries include those you mentioned as well as the animal crossing 3ds stage, the kid icarus wii u stage, & I'm sure I'm missing one or two.
I think we'll get a new stage to bring in March!

I am hoping for the former as well, with Impa being a seperate character to represent Skyward sword since all it has is a stage and item insofar as we can tell. It is just weird since that is the latest Zelda. Impa really seems to be the last chance for a character rep from that game since for consistencies sake, Ganondorf will retain the Twilight Princess inspired artstyle.
I really liked whoever's idea it was for the Phantom to behave like it does in PH/ST just standing there and waiting on an approaching opponent. Once close enough, the phantom could lumber in their direction and start swiping. Maybe it would use it's shield to block projectiles while stationary, too?

For starters her name is in the series' Japanese title: Hikari Shinwa: Parutena no Kagami, so she's got that going for her. Second she's the only other character besides Pit to have been in all 3 games of the series, Medusa sat out the GB entry & while KIU added a bunch of great new characters, they lack Palutena's history.
Personality wise, its fun listening to the dialogue between her & Pit, particularly how they both show a complete disregard for the 4th wall at all times or how Palutena tends to troll Pit. I suggest youtubing "Kid Icarus Uprising Dialogue" for some of the highlights.
Moveset wise, there's the weapons from Pit's arsenal that she borrows in the anime shorts (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KxN2DEHV-v0) plus the attacks she uses during
the boss battle against her
Of those characters, I'd pick Ridley, Palutena and Hades.
I'm looking forward to Pac-Man, Mii and Mewtwo, though.

The best we can hope for is Dixie and that seems less likely to me since she wasn't revealed for either Tropical Freeze release. The question is who is more likely: Cranky or Dixie Kong? I guess it depends on whether Sakurai knew about Cranky being in TF as playable or not. Dixie has the playable character seniority in this case but Cranky is OG DK, so who knows? The only way he is acceptable to me is if his FS is transforming into the original Kong chucking OHKO barrels. Also: If Dixie makes it, what in the world would be her FS anyway?

It is possible but unlikely given the current pattern for anniversary style reveals. They could definitely show the Wii U Kid Icarus stage in more detail if they wanted.
