New Super Mario Bros. music is actually really good if you use proper instruments.IAlso; fuuuck new super mario bros music, seriously.
...
What the hell, why doesn't the music in NSMB sound like this? Ok, some of the instrument choices could still be better, but bwah bwah makes it infinitely better already.

Evolution of the Bumper in Super Smash Bros. http://smashbros-miiverse.com/items/bumper
The team that develops NSMB considers every part of the aesthetic to be part of the simplistic, back to roots appeal.
It's dumb, but there you go.
It's technically "Wah Wah" and they are one of the best contributions to mankind's history in a long long time! This is fact.
Though the "Doos" are even better.

Why would I be joking? The wahs are the best.PLEASE be joking.
I'm going to be so disappointed once the game releases![]()
That castle theme...My God it's so divine.

I think playstation all stars could have worked as well if they didn't go with that combo/super system and it received better support.
Competitive play was actually a focus for the game unlike smash.
I don't think NSMB music is bad at all, but the fact they used the same songs for 3 games is stupid.
Not getting your point at all.
Speaking of awful music, have you heard the music for the Yoshi's new Island website? There may still be hope yet.
Depends on the game. Some NES games had songs a plenty. SMB3 or Mother, for some first-party examples.And....? NES soundtracks were next to barren wastelands, LoZ I think had a grand total of 3 songs (Overworld, Dungeon theme, Ganon's dungeon)
I predict a character reveal for tomorrow. Crazy, I know, but I feel it in these bones of mine.

But its usage is much more limited and varied; outside of the Japanese SMB2, it wasn't used/remixed as a normal overworld theme again. The NSMB overworld is a group of very similar songs (more so than many versions of the original theme) that are all used for the same purpose in a large amount of areas in the games. My point is that SMB1's Overworld theme has been used and remixed in significantly more games (hell I don't even remember where it appeared in) than the NSMB Overworld theme, which, as BGBW demonstrated, aren't exactly the same song just copypasted.
But they are not completely different. The difference is miniscule.
Those are merely remixes that are used for certain segments of games, not using nearly the whole soundtrack for sequels. My point is that SMB1's Overworld theme has been used and remixed in significantly more games (hell I don't even remember in how many games it appeared in) than the NSMB Overworld theme, which, as BGBW demonstrated, aren't exactly the same song just copypasted.
Relax. I feel pretty confident about myself.Oh god why would you do this to yourself
holy shitThat castle theme...My God it's so divine.
Has another game used all of SMB1's themes as pretty much the only songs?
EDIT: Right, Japanese SMB2 does. it is a remix of SMB in general.
Isn't that just a port of SMB to the GameBoy Color?I guess if you don't count SMB2, you wouldn't count SMB Deluxe either.

It's a pretty big difference.
The Brawl version is probably the best version of the NSMB theme: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zet5FooQzjI
I like this.
I like this, too. I'm hoping for a healthy mix of Orchestra and MIDI like Kid Icarus: Uprising did, so hopefully Sakurai will continue down that path.
