td;dr: no one knew officially who Sakamoto was, and everybody assumed it was a pseudonym to preserve Bitcoin's creator identity (for obvious reasons). Turns out it's a "random" guy named Sakamoto. He has an estimated $400 (edit: million) fortune in Bitcoins.
Poor guy, whether this is true or not, his life is over. I sure hope he and his family can survive this relatively untouched.
