Amazing. I laughed way too hard...

Sorry guys was a bit grumpy last night but @playstationUK has just tweeted they will be live streaming the event from 7.30pm GMT tomorrow.

Play Infamous 2 because you want to.

Second Son is a fresh start. New city, new characters, new story.

There is some references to the state of the world after Infamous 2, but I don't think its super necessary to know.

If you were going to play Infamous 2, I would say try and play 1 first.

Ok thanks.ill just hold off until I finish the first 2.

haven't seen this offscreen video around
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s0_xUo6fEN0

sorry if old

He says that:
- graphics are very detailed and crisp, online videos and screenshot aren't good representation of the IQ (it's better)
- traversal is very smooth and fun to do
- attention to small things: when you stand next to stairs, Delsin puts one foot on a step
- difficulty setttings change the way you play. he gives an example of neon focus (while zooming in with L2) which allows you to aim precisely and do headshots. on normal it has a slow-down, on higher difficulty it doesn't. press demo had godmode on.
- neon smudge is O while running
- very positive review in general (the guy played the previous 2 games and says that it's the same thing but improved).

Do you guys think "Cole's Legacy" will be good?

Here in Europe it's not included with all preorder copies as in the US. Instead it's only available along with the more expensive CE or LE.

Usually, exclusive DLC missions aren't worth it and just turn out to be bland filler stuff. But what about this particular DLC? At least it sounds interesting...so do you think it'll be worth paying extra for it?

Nice. I love little things like that. What is "neon smudge"?

That wasn't in 2? The whole raising feet for uneven surfaces is in a jillion games now. Any game worth it's realism salt has it.

Guessing that's the traversal run since you leave a smudge of neon behind you?
I think you even turn into a smudge. Another thing from the commentary: smoke powers seem to be more close quarters style while neon powers are better for longer distance shots. But that neon sword!

I'll make neon work in close quarters, just for the neon sword.

Hey GAF, I will be missing the IGN live stream, is there anywhere I can go to watch it after it's already finished or is the only time to watch it when it happens?

Good choice. I absolutely love the first two games in the series. Infamous is actually one of my favorite new ips of last gen.

Be warnes that the first one has a slow start, and doesn't start to get interesting until you get your first three or four powers. It does have the best boss battles in the series so far, though. I also recommend skipping tje side missions in the first one, as they are just boring and repetitive (literallu, tjere are like 4 different baseline missions, that are repeated a few timea each).

inFAMOUS 2, in my opinion improves over 1 in pretty much every way but boss battles. Graphics, characterization for Cole and Zeke, powers, the city itself is more vibrant and unique. The story is debatable, but I really loved it. The good ending is considered canon for Second Son, but the evil ending is pretty badass as well.

That's why I never finished 1...it was boring to me but I didn't play it long enough for it to get good.

Can I get in this beanie action too? If one of you could beanie up my avatar that would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance. :) can't wait for this game!

It doesn't really get enjoyable until after the Static Thrusters power. It employs the "carrot on a stick" game design method. You get rewarded with new powers every 3 or 4 story missions, so you keep playing to see which powers you get next.

Started my replay of the series and I'm already nostalgic. Sly Cooper was my favorite series growing up, and I got a PS3 the day Infamous came out out of loyalty to the developers. While it does take a while to get fun, it still is such a great game. The leap from 1 to 2 gameplay wise was great, and Festival of Blood was just 2ish hours of pure fun, so my expectations for Second Son are high right now. Just about 2 weeks left!
