The game has to be playable on PS3 and Xbox 360 for Ubisoft to make their money back. There is no way you make a game to run on nine year old hardware without making concessions. I'll wait to see what Arkham Knight looks likes before deciding if multiplatform games are going to be a concern.
The reaction to AC5 and a new Call of Duty are going to be funny, because those are games that have to do a lot of business on legacy hardware as well.

Yeah I know, that is why I said multiplatform instead of "cross gen." With companies like Ubisoft, EA, and Activision relying on a lot of annualized franchises, I don't expect the PS3 and Xbox 360 support to end before 2016.

Guys, imagine if this would've come out in November like originally planned.
Honestly, if you took the footage from the E3 reveal and put it up against GTAV, then you'd kinda have to be out of your mind to say that GTAV looks better. Watch_Dog's graphical display back then was incredibly phenomenal, and looked nothing like what it does in these downgraded shots.
Hindsight is 20/20. Unless you had the prescience to know Ubisoft would shit the bed this drastically, you didn't really call anything. It's just coincidence.

I'm glad I don't work at Ubi, if I saw these comments on GAF I would feel so insecure that I would suggest another delay. Hopefully the game is great.
Look at the release date. A third E3 in a row would kill any momentum the game has left.

It's gonna be a long year if this game turns out to be as poor as its graphics. Aside from Transistor and Second Son, I have nothing planned for my PS4 in 2014. This game was going to hopefully hold me over during the summer for the games that will presumably be announced at E3 this year for Q4.

No, it didn't look better at all. The only thing Xbox One had against the PS4 was the AO wasn't bugged. Other than the PS4 version was superior.

Ubisoft shot themselves (and you guys) in the foot, honestly. They should've addressed the downgrade way, way earlier. Actually, it should've been addressed already as the game was close to release last year before being delayed. Now that the game is coming together for release in two months, the talk is obviously all about the graphic downgrade instead of the gameplay which is sad.
I feel cheated in a sense. I don't want to say I hope this game does horrible because it seems as if to the everyday consumer, Ubisoft pulled a fast one on us. The hype I had for the game was real and possibly my first next gen game, now I won't even pick it up for consoles... Someone please tell me this is an elaborate troll?

Anyone else get this weird feeling like you're tired of the name watch dogs? I don't know how to explain it but it feels like some overplayed radio song when I think of watch dogs. Kinda like: "yeah, I remember that game". I suppose that's just the hype dying down. This game was like the shit for so long and now this happens. I can definitely say that their maximum potential income has lessened by quite a bit.
Aside from all the graphics debates, the main thing that everyone seems to be overlooking is that even with this delay, they didn't show a single gameplay element that looks good. Still.
You have the same stuff as before. A lot of walking slowly, QTE melee animations with no control from the player at all, driving, and selecting "hacking" powers from your radial menu. And this comes out in 2 months.

Thankfully I had this game preordered at a cheaper price. Otherwise I probably would've held off on buying it for a bit if I had to pay the inflated game prices that are going on over here right now.
But yeah, if they had somehow managed to get close to the level of fidelity of the reveal with the extra 6 months of polish, I may have bought the game even at the inflated price in that scenario.

I played 2 hours of gta 5 and was bored out of my damn mind. Then again, I haven't beat a GTA game since 3... But have beat most assassins creeds..

Heh... same feeling. I actually returned my copy of GTA5 a day after I bought it. Watch Dogs is more my type of game... that and Triad Wars (Sleeping Dogs was my GOTY 2012).
