Infamous Second Son has gone gold

This is a thing now? I love it! If someone has a chance, beanie me please! Thanks!

Interesting, the evil ending was suppose to be cannon until Nate Fox seen what most people picked.

Just a heads up to those that maybe haven't played inFAMOUS 2, that article completely spoils a key plot point of inFAMOUS 2. Specifically the good ending, which is now canon. It's not a minor spoiler for those that are really interested in playing the previous two games.

Yeah, I wonder if most people made the "good" choices just to get the good ending and then play "evil" to get the evil ending. I may be just projecting myself onto others, but I decided to pick all good karma decisions on my first playthrough no matter what just to get that ending and then the same with evil karma, even if I were to disagree with some of the decisions.

It wasn't as much of a "choice" for me in that way. Maybe majority of the people just felt that whatever their karmic stance at the end of the game was, they wanted to pick the good karma ending.

I would have actually really liked for the evil ending to be canon. It would have opened up many possibilities. INFAMOUS 2 ENDING SPOILERS
Perhaps you would have played as an all new character and in good karma path you would rise against Cole's onslaught, and in evil karma path you would ultimately ally yourself with him

I think if that were the case, there'd have been a more balanced output of Good Ending/Evil Ending Trophy data.

From what Sucker Punch said in other interviews, the vast majority of the data was skewed towards the Good ending. I platinumed both inFAMOUS games, so I got both endings, but I chose the good path because I like being the hero. I then chose the evil path, because, yeah, I wanted to see the ending. It seems like more people were satisfied with the good ending, and didn't bother to get the evil one, and that's the data they went with, not just those that played both sides. inFAMOUS 2 sold, what, 2 million units? That's a pretty large sample size to pull data from, honestly, even if only half of them were online, it's still plenty to get an idea of what gamer's were doing.

Not sure if already been posted but some more footage of the demo we have already seen, also uses "other powers" which does imply that there will be at least 4 powersets. That shit is cray. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=04Bi72v46sE

Thanks for sharing! It was expected, but still good to hear.

So the karma discharges if you are not accurate during the good playthrough and not fast enough during the evil playthrough. This gets me real excited! This will not only force me to make different choices, but also play very differently!

Yeah, it sounds like they have really done a great job implementing the karma system in all aspects of gameplay, not just the story choices. I'm excited for this as well. I was playing inFAMOUS 2 over the weekend as a good guy, and I felt pretty badass when I'd jump into a mugging and take out the enemies without hurting the innocent being mugged. I fired off this wicked headshot that went flying past the civilian (I though I'd hit him!), and taking out the bad guy instead. I felt like a boss. Lol. I also make good use of the Lightning Hook move to yank enemies towards me and away from innocents, then zapping them while they're in mid air flying towards me. inFAMOUS 2 was so frigging fun, and Second Son looks like a beautiful, more polished version of that, with a lot more variety in how you take on situations.

I'm expecting at least 4 power sets. I'm keeping my expectations low, so that I can be pleasantly surprised if there are more, but not disappointed if there are only 4. 1 had 1 power set. 2 had 3. They compared Delsin to Mega Man, so I can't imagine him only having 3 power sets. 4 seems too few also, but more reasonable.

I'm really thinking 5 or above at this point. Though 4 is as good as confirmed.

Yea, I think you are right :)
Honestly, I'm such a huge infamous fan that I don't really care what they choose as canon as long as I get more infamous. I'm so damn excited to play this. Evil ending as canon would have been really interesting to see though.

And holy shit at that game informer footage. As a HUGE fan of the ice jump, I am very excited to see that the neon run has a similar launch ability. Seeing the game being played by someone who knows his stuff is, like Dinjooh said, an absolute joy.

What a gorgeous game covered up by them HUD bits.

I know I've asked before, but I might have amnesia so I'll just ask again: Can you disable those HUD elements?

I don't think so. I saw a section of the options menu in one of the Twitch videos, and there was nothing about the HUD at all. In fact, the dev they had on the stream said that some HUD elements were "hidden" for the demo, meaning the final HUD will probably have even more crap.

It'd be nice to be able to scale it, and have it fade when not in combat.

I love infamous and I buying this game day 1, but this is seriously lacking some attention to detail.

It seems like drivers don't get out of the cars
Drivers/cars don't run away from crazy explosions or gunfire, they just stand there like morons

stuff like this breaks immersion

Typical Infamous dumb AI.

yea game has really good graphics, but it doesn't seem like a killer app to me. I think it will get 7/10 reviews

Suckerpunch are a fairly small team. They don't have the kind of man power Rockstar have to create an open-world full of small details and complex AI.

The industry will truly collapse if people didn't buy games just because of dumb AI. If you think this game will get middling scores, you need to substantiate it with a better argument

Yeah, watching the developer play was a marked difference compared to watching the journos stumble their way through the demo.

Considering you use exploded cars for smoke they probably figured it'd be way too frustrating if all your initial power sources were running away from you.

Good point. But it still makes sense to make the NPCs leave the car and run. We don't know if that has been implemented already, but it doesn't show in many clips.
