Metal Gear represents Nintendo's poor relations with third parties. The series first came to Nintendo platforms in the form of a downgraded NES port, and continued with handheld spin-offs, and came back with a gen late port that Nintendo had to pay for. Metal Gear is a good example of Nintendo struggling to get third party content. So excuse me if I don't think that fits in well with Smash.
