PlayStation Network Thread (Vita/PS3/PS4) | March 2014

I should be in for the 60$ promotion if I got FFX&X-2 + Luftrausers + Cytus right? I think I'll either do Cytus unlock code or buy Super Stardust Delta (?) to push it past 60$.

EDIT: Top of the Page Recommendations for 100PPP folks!
Luftrausers by the 18th.... TxK if you haven't bought it
"Listen to my story" Final Fantasy by the 18th.

You might want to make sure that PSM purchases count. I'm probably wrong, but I vaguely remember PSM purchases not counting towards a similar promotion in the past. So yeah, just check to make sure.

I'll get that super stardust bundle then. I can't make any compromises since my money's in a tight situation right now.

My friend is getting InFamous and I'll borrow it from him because I am not paying $70 Canadian for a video game ever.

I'll be getting Ground Zeroes and Final Fantasy X/X-2 HD (Vita version). Been looking forward to these for ages!

I see we've had our monthly waifu wars. All is well.
I was getting worried there. Even though we didn't get meta enough to get to FeMC this time around. Next month then..
Why are you even thinking of buying dlc for the worst DLC for the worst FF game
Because it's better than Final Fantasy 13. And Serah's costumes are pretty amaze.

My man
I freaking hate this image. I've never known what it means.

So I want something new to play (PS3), and I'm limiting myself to $20. I've got the possibilities down to four choices, but I'm not sure which to go for.

1. Hot Shots Golf: World Invitational - This looks fun, and I'm a fan of arcade-y golf games. The only thing is, I have HSG: World Tour already and never finished it. This was the one I WANTED to get when I got World Tour (back when the "ultimate edition" was on sale for like $4), but at the time the PS3 version was Japan-only with no indication of it coming to the US.

2. Armored Core: Verdict Day - I loved AC back on the PS1, but aside from a very little bit of For Answer, I haven't really played it since. And from what I hear, Verdict Day is pretty hard. And also heavily online-focused, of which I'm not a fan. But still, it looks like a fun game that you could get many hours out of.

3. Catherine + Under Defeat HD - On the plus side, I've played both of these and know they're good. On the minus side...I've played both of these already. I beat Catherine once (Gamefly rental), but I wasn't very good at it and had to use walkthroughs for later stages. I played Under Defeat a long time ago on the Dreamcast and enjoyed it, but I'm not sure how much time I could get out of a shmup. I got Mamorukun Curse a while back when the price dropped to $10, and didn't put a ton of time into it (though I did enjoy what I played).

4. EDF 2025 Mission Packs 2 & 3 - 40 total new missions for EDF 2025. On one hand, I love the shit outta EDF 2025, and more stuff to do in it would be great. On the other hand, I've already put 65 hours into it and am just a liiiiiittle burned out.

And what I actually want to get is

5. Way of the Samurai 4 - The only thing is...I don't really want to spend $30 on it. That's a bit much for a digital game (Steam sales have ruined me), and it's got HORRIBLE screen tearing, which always knocks a couple points off a game for me. So yeah, don't really want to spend $30 on it, especially when I could import the UK disc version for just a couple dollars more shipped. I'd like to just wait for a sale, but XSEED rarely, if ever, puts their games on sale. They're worse than Tecmo-Koei in that regard.

So yeah, feelin' pretty indecisive. Help, PSN-GAF?

Is Persona 4 on sale? Because Persona 4 is on sale often enough that it doesn't really make sense to buy it when it's not on sale.

I feel like there's no reason Luftrausers shouldn't be on PS4, makes me feel like they want to ding us twice and that makes me hesitant.

The game has been delayed like a year due to wanting to simultaneously launch all versions. Another port is just asking for more trouble.

I watched some playthroughs on YouTube and now Demons Gaze and Conception II both look interesting to me despite me initially not being interested.

Conception II looks really good. Demons Gaze looks like it could either be a hidden gem or a boring turd.

Anyone from japan gaf played these?

So here's my Vita collection (along with some of my digital PSP games). I'm missing some digital games like Atelier Totori, but they're mostly here.

So my 'physical' copy of Phantom Breaker on Vita just arrived. It's just a fucking download code in the box. There was no warning of this in advance. So pissed.

Phantom Breaker? Is that a Japanese Import? I can't say I've heard of it.

But yeah, that sucks, especially if there really weren't any warnings. It kinda happened to me once with Patapon 2, though in my case I just missed the little warning. I got it from a store, though, so I was able to take it back.

Demon Gaze seems to be great according to a few GAFers while Conception II seems to be mediocre.

Yeah, Japanese import. It's a side scrolling beat 'em up. The box has a nice looking CD soundtrack and an art book in there... but the game itself is just a code. =\

They're even still advertising it with an image of a physical game box that doesn't exist.

Really? What were the complaints? I have it preordered since Atlus has a first-print bonus going for it, but I don't know if I should just cancel that and get something else, especially with Atlus first-print copies seemingly being available long after release.

Oh wow, I entertained the idea of importing this. Are you sure a hard copy doesn't exist or the retailer advertised it wrong?

Wow that's the opposite of the video impressions I got. I'll probably get both but the one I get digitally depends on which one is the better game

There quite a bit of a review on both of the games on this thread despite being a Demon Gaze thread.

Do you at least have a JP account to redeem the code? Though it's a bad situation regardless. Really crappy of them to advertise a picture of a physical copy without mentioning it's just a code. I'm assuming a return is out of the question?

What's that image next to the CERO rating, and the Memory Card Required label? I've never seen that on a Vita box.

I get the feeling that Deception IV is fun as fuck...

After looking it up, it looks like it translates to "Online Exclusive Use." So I guess there was a small warning, though a clearer one would have been better.

I have that on preorder. It looks pretty unique (at least, I haven't played anything like it), and it might become a game harder to find later on (physically, at least).

I hate hoarders :(. Does collector's editions goes for $200+!

One copy is for me and one copy is for me to pass down to my children who would definitely want to have their own sealed copies.

Or just to have a sealed copy of. When it's a game I really enjoy, I want to have a mint copy of it. That includes keeping it sealed. And of course, I need a second copy to play for myself. I know it's kinda crazy, but I try to keep it to a minimum.

Whaaa?? Two copies of LE of games I really like is hoarding? And I doubt any of them sell for $200, though I don't plan to sell them anyways.

I'd just like to say that all people should stack their games like this rather than buying shelves

Making fucking Jenga out of your game boxes

Meta as fuck

So my friend is attempting to backup his vita memory card to his pc and yet the vita progress bar keeps getting stuck. It's essentially refusing to backup, anyone have any ideas as to what could be causing this?

I feel like I am the exact opposite of you. I don't own a single physical version of a PS3, PS4, PSP, or Vita game.

So uhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh............. Dark Souls 2 looks interesting.

I mean, I am never a person that gets all jiffy with graphics and such and I think it looks... good... great, even..., on the various YouTube videos (that not part of its marketing materials) that I've seen.

Which makes this even more confusing: currently I have 90 dollars on my wallet so the options are:

1. Dark Souls for 60, then wait for the bonus 10 to kick in to get FFX/FFX-2.
2. Danganronpa + FFX/FFX-2 = left me with 20 with the 10 bonus.
3. Miku + FFX/FFX-2 = left me with 30 with the 10 bonus.

Urgggggggggggggggh I cannnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn't blooooooooody deciiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiide.

So what do you think guys?

Should I get Steamworld Dig or Luftrausers on Tuesday?

They're both the same price. I'm conflicted.

Steamworld Dig kind of falters at the end, like the game's kind of.... lose direction. It is a solid game, though, nonetheless.

Cheers for the replies, everyone.

Oh wow, I entertained the idea of importing this. Are you sure a hard copy doesn't exist or the retailer advertised it wrong?

Yeah, there's really no hard copy. The retail edition comes with physical contents like a huge art book and CD, but no actual game case/cart. I checked some Amazon.jp reviews earlier and people are commenting about this as well. :(

Complaints popping up in the user reviews that it requires a constant internet connection to play, too.

Do you at least have a JP account to redeem the code? Though it's a bad situation regardless. Really crappy of them to advertise a picture of a physical copy without mentioning it's just a code. I'm assuming a return is out of the question?

I don't. :( But I do have an old 4GB memory card sitting around unused, might be a good reason to finally make myself a JP account. I purchased it from CD Japan, who made no mention of it being a download code, so I've emailed them about the situation.

After looking it up, it looks like it translates to "Online Exclusive Use." So I guess there was a small warning, though a clearer one would have been better.

Ah! Thanks for that. Yeah, probably would have been nicer if they'd made it a bit clearer.

3 and then use that for something else or save it to use on Dark Souls when you can make up the other 30.

homescreen time?

I like Lightning's getup on the screen with the purple background. Would be awesome if she smiled though.

Oh yeah... Now that my PS3 is fixed I finally have a chance to finish FFXIII-2. I'm at the part where
They visit an advanced city where this is where the girl that JPOP antagonist likes dies. I assume she dies a lot more in the later parts of the story if I am to believe what the game implies.

Should I finish that up or head straight to LR?
