Dark Souls II |OT2| Prepare to Vengarl

I've been watching ENB's walkthrough of this game. So far it doesn't look hard at all. Does it get harder later on?

Enemies in
Iron Keep
drop
Blacksteel
.

The second blacksmith (in the
Bastille
) sells the
Uchigatana
.

It's a rare drop, but you can also get the
Berserker Blade, the second strongest katana in the game in pure damage,
once you get to the
Iron Keep
area.

Spoilers for how to obtain it:

After the Smelter Demon there's a path with two turtle armor dudes leading to a big area with lava at the bottom. Immediately to your left there is a door. Go in and use a Pharros' Lockstone. The path it reveals leads to Belfry Sol, and an NPC to join the Bell Guardian covenant. Join them, then put yourself in offline mode (to prevent 12,000,000 gankers from invading you).

Go in and kill the mobs, then proceed to the end of the outdoor area and look left. If you see a Black Phantom with two katana, bump him off. He rarely drops the sword along with his Mad Warrior armor set. If he doesn't drop it, run back to the bonfire and repeat. He never goes extinct like other mobs in this game, so you can keep trying to spawn him (about 1/10 chance he appears) until you get what you want.

ENB has probably played it for like 300 hours so he makes it look easy, and many of the early bosses are pushovers. Imo though this is at least as hard as the other games.

Where can I find Large Titanite shards? I can grind for chunks in the bell tower, but I can't seem to find too many of these shards.

follow huntsmans copse pathway until iron fort, early in the iron fort in the lava room with the furnace thing, there's a platform you can jump to under an archer that has an ember. get the ember and bring it to the blacksmith in Bastille, he's behind a wall you can break with a barrel. Give him the ember and he'll sell unlimited large shards.

I don't know if it's common knowledge, but my friend figured out how to manually spells and crossbows in first person last night: use the binoculars.

Maybe there's another way and we're retards, but this is all we figured out.

Yeah, that's what I was hoping. The Dragonslayer boss in particular was a joke.

Certain vendors will sell you infinite large titanite shards for 2.5K souls a piece.

Who, where, and when? I have a feeling I'm taking all these different routes so when I do manage to find them it'll be too late to really matter. And my swords are in desperate need of some upgrading.

Ah, missed this post. Thank you!

You can aim crossbows in first person if you press l1 when it's two handed

Some of the bosses are really just the equivalent of mini-bosses. I think most of the mid-level bosses would have been better if they were just chilling out in the world and didn't respawn (giving similar rewards of course). There are, of course, some notable exceptions but I think that would cut down on some of the disconnect between boss difficulty and make the world a bit more exciting.

Also if anyone can tell me where i can find
the ember
for
mcduff
i would appreciate it.
Iron Keep.
It's in the large area with the bridge you need to lower. If you're standing on the bridge, look toward the way you came in and you should see it on a ledge you have to jump to.

I beat the shit out of
the giant in the Forest of Giants or whatever it's called. After that I met a dead end at a door saying I need some king of "king symbol". So now I went to Heide's and I just arrived at Lost Bastille.
Am I doing this right or did I miss something?

Ruin Sentials
down. Man those bastards were tough as a caster. Luckily, I was prepared and had a +4 bastard sword all ready to go. Any casters have any luck taking them down solo?

Probably doesn't count, but I started a new character with double caestuses and used the npc summon for this fight and he pretty much annihilated those guys with soul spears. O.O

So im thinking I wanna rock a zweihander once I get my grubby little hands on it. It was an absolute beast in DS1, how is it now? Is there a different greatsword/ultra greatsword I should be focusing on instead?

Your ok. That's the way I've progressed thus far and I haven't felt like I'm underleveled or I don't do enough damage.

Ok the only major thing that I'm aware of left to do before the final boss is to seek out
darklurker
. Is that worth doing? Kinda feel ready to finish the game at this point.

Small soapstone will summon you to pve in someone's world. Defeat some enemies and you will fulfill your duty and get a smooth and silky stone as a reward. It is super easy. Shrine of Amara, Iron Keep, etc. are great places if you are high level.

Jeez, that's really useful. I feel dumb for not using the small one all this time.

You should be able to just go first person with crossbows normally, just two hand it.

The binocular is the only option for spells though, yeah.

So without any further spoilers, do those greenish doors with dragons carved on them in
Drangleic Castle
ever open? There are two sets behind the entry room, and another set on one of the terraces by a ladder that leads to 3 archers. There are no interaction queues so I suspect not, but you never know.

So I have a weapon that's E/A. My highest stat is dex but I don't really have any stats in any of the spellcasting stats. Would it be beneficial to use any of the stones?

I just somehow got glitched into the fucking fog against
Smelter Demon
and couldn't do anything but run in place and wait for him to kill me.

This boss is seriously about to make me rage quit.

Yeah I got them solo. Not difficult when you don't have to charge them
(used my staff for the entire fight)
.
