So who else is doing NG+

I am being told NG+ removes the soul memory limits.

So, there are enough people to summon for bosses and stuff, or is it desert island?

Used my first Bonfire Ascetic in H
eide's Tower
.

Aaand at SL 80ish, that really put into perspective how low level my gear is.

How did you cope with the b
lack phantoms
? They could kill me in 3 hits, it took me 10+ to whittle them down to death. I was also level 80 at the time.

Second
Giant Soul
obtained. One remains and don't seem to remember where it was.

Giant Lord Area
The one near The Last Giant

Which ones I'm missing?

I didn't make it that far, lol.
I saw him in the distance, grabbed my bloodstain and left.

I'm gonna finish up some of the areas I've got open, level up my gear a bit and come back.

What level are people fighting (boss spoiler)
the scorpioness
at? I'm at SL95 and having a hell of a time getting summoned for co-op. I'm wondering if I'm starting to hit that upper level summoning wall people have been talking about.

So far no issues. Just need the wave of people to join ng +

When ng+ started it should have had a message " now real dark souls begin "

Alright so I'm really struggling so far in this game. I played DeS about halfway through, but stopped for some various reasons, and then decided to pick this one up.

I'm currently on my third go-through so far, all three times with the Knight. I can only really make it about 2 hours tops into the game before I really start struggling, using lifegems, etc and basically screwing myself up. I know that 95% of this is me just not being used to the game at the moment and making dumb decisions, but I'm just real bad and frustrated right now. Any tips?

Question.

Do i present the soul of the last giant to the giant that's resting in peace?

Saw a message that said try item

(spoiler is regarding forest of giants)

So I was in the fire tower thing, aside from
the dragon rider
boss and from the miracles vendor is there something interesting in that place?

What is up with more than half of people carrying great swords? All the invaders and summoned carry this sword. I can't deal with these invaders with laggy connection hitting me with their great sword from miles away.

I don't care what anyone says, but, Dark Souls 2's graphics are really awesome.

I agree. I think people are disapointed because it was suppose to be even better. Even if it still looks, feels, and plays great.

But DS2 does look great. FROM SOFTWARE has been working miracles with the Souls games. Can't believe they made Vampire Rain years ago. lol

it definitely seems to be "in" right now

I think alot of them are new guys coming in, because their builds from what it looks like is basic besides the great sword and shield with basic armor...unless that is a build and I don't know it lol

One of these days, I'm gonna try a Souls games and go full on heavy-ish armor with a big heavy weapon. In all 3 games, I have been a very light character focused with magic. I might change it up when I replay some of the games. I'm so used to his playstyle, though. lol

The only thing DS2 has over DS is that the pacing, and environments for endgame are far superior.
I was pumped when I entered the castle, knowing the end was close.
And the pacing kept up with my expectation.

I still place DS over DS2 though due to better map design. DS: Everything is connected and led to somewhere, and intertwined with each others in a meaningful way.
DS2: Well fuck it, time to use homeward bone.

I always go with a tank first. Guys with lots of health and endurance to swing slow but hard. it's fun and feels like the proper Souls way. Get in close and personal

I went full defense with Havel's set along with his great sword and got destroyed by the invaders half the time back in DS1. Apparently, armor never helps during pvp in this game.

After finishing the game, I can't help but feel they went too far with the 'more bosses' thing; most of them are kinda dull. Still,
Darklurker
was amazing; more fights like that From and less fights that can be beaten by slowly sidestepping round the bosses' shield arm.
Also pretty sure the covenant areas might've been a bit more fun if I hadn't just Great Club R2 spammed every phantom, but oh well, there's always NG+.

So, in terms of graphics, how would you guys compare this game to its prequel? Better looking? (I don't really wanna spoil locations for myself by watching videos)

If I respec do I just get all the levels back to reassign? I hardly just get reset and have to work back up by farming. Just making sure :P

Slightly better. It's largely the exact same but animations are nicer and lighting effects are nicer.

Pretty much the same as Dark Soul, in my opinion. Its been quite a while since i played Dark Souls though, but i didnt go "this looks much better than Dark Souls" when i played Dark Souls 2, but i might have forgotten how Dark Souls 1 looked like in details. I think both games looks great though :)

What do you guys think of the
Faraam
Armor Set? It's not as good as
Vengarl's
Armor, but it honestly looks so awesome.

Finally settled on a weapon.

Lightning Murakumo +10

Pretty badass.. pity the B dex scaling.. but best it gets is A...so lightning enchant seemed wise.

Now to find an armor set, so far I hate every one.

Hell, that's my build. But I juggle weapons. Greatwords, and axes mostly. I find Magic Pew Pew distance builds boring.

Nothing more exciting for me than running up and chucking my giant ass blade in yo face!

Well it's got capes that actually move, so I'm inclined to say that Dark Souls 2's graphics are objectively better by the only metric that matters.

Though they did squander them a little bit by
seemingly not letting you get the Old Dragonslayer's armor. You had a chance to give us Ornstein's tassel From, and you blew it.

Goddamn. that was scary. For once my summons fight against
the chariot dude
was going well. Entire system froze up. I had to restart my PS3. Somehow I kept my souls though.

WTF the game just froze on me in the middle of co-oping a boss fight. What to do?

Game froze when I got summoned in a bell fight. Before the freeze characters were disappearing and stuff... thought my ps3 was dying.. hope that's not the case. It's been fine since.

This past fall I finally rolled a heavy character after years of DEX and INT builds in Demon's and Dark Souls. I loved it. I didn't miss dodging much when I could smash enemies into the ground. And the first time I put on a great shield and tanked a boss's best shot before staggering him with a club, I started giggling like an idiot. It was so much fun that I decided to make my first DkS2 character a STR build, which is going well so far.
