Looks amazing really, I'm shocked. I only ever beat FFX once a very long time ago so this is sort of like a new run.

It seriously looks a lot better on the Vita in motion. Screens really don't do this game justice imo.

Yeah, Vita's sleep mode is amazing. I haven't touched my Vita in over a month and saw the battery is still at half. 3DS sleep mode is a joke in comparison.
FFX really eats my battery though. Probably as much as NGSP1.

Maybe it's keeping the Wifi on? That would explain it.
I know it's an opinion, but still. In the 12 years since Final Fantasy 10 was made, why hasn't a better JRPG been made? A JRPG that got straight 10's across the or something that appears on everyone's Top Ten list. It's kind of sad. I guess I feel like it's because since that power increase in consoles we keep getting, everyone wants to do futuristic stuff. There's so few things in a rustic setting and it makes me sad. Also, FFX has still done turn based better than anything else, it's all in that awesome bar on the side that tells you when moves are coming up.

People tend to forget about them because they are 360 exclusive, but if you want old school turn based JRPG with lots of content and explorable worlds, well my friend, the father of Final Fantasy, no less, got you covered.
2008 for OG P4 and 2012 for P4G, DQ8 was 2004 in japan.

Since when are Lost Odyssey and Blue Dragon better than Final Fantasy 10 in the way you know I'm asking the question? I haven't heard anyone mention either of those games in months. Maybe a year. Persona 4 is the closest so far.
This isn't me asking for myself. I can go find some JRPG if I want to play them. But nothing has reached Final Fantasy or Persona levels in terms of public perception in years.

I'm sorry, I love FFX and FFXII but Persona 4 Golden beats them all.
2008 for original Persona4. Same system as FFX which is pretty freaking amazing.
Also for those who asked, FFX and FFX2 Vita are eyeball meltingly awesome on the OLED screen. The screenshots just don't capture it. They look washed out in comparison.

Alright, why hasn't a better JRPG been made since Persona 4? Even though there are 6 years between both FFX, P4, and 2014. Are we overdue for a JRPG Of The Ages? Will one ever happen again? Maybe it's Persona 5. Maybe it's Sony's JRPG. Maybe it's FF15. Whatever the next big thing is, it's taking too long.

Don't know. There's just something about FFX and Persona 4 that makes them great. I haven't really found a JRPG that is better than Persona 4 and I just got into the Tales recently.
Hoping Persona 5 has that same magic as Persona 4.
I dont leave my 3ds on anymore, i just turn it off when not in use. It annoys me too much to come back to it and find it in need of charging.
Feels great to play chinatown wars on a portable system, driving doesnt aggravate me anymore. Wish it ran a bit better but nothing too bad since gta games are never well optimized

i remember beating chinatown wars on ds and it was great.
i tried to replay it on vita and it had some weird loading times that were annoying to me, and i didn't play it much.
it was the first topdown GTA i ever played, too. maybe i should play the others b/c chinatown wars was great.

Costs and time of development have exponentially increased since 2007. Also, JRPG's fell out of favor with mainstream gamers for a few years. At the same time, Japanese developers struggled with everything. Some of it was their fault, some of it was due to things Japan was going through.
I really hope Persona 5 is the one...
I've never stopped playing RPGs though and I suspect a lot of others haven't either... They just played western RPGs instead for awhile. I played mostly DS and PSP RPGs since around 2007...
3DS hasn't been the RPG handheld I was hoping for so I'm glad I jumped onto the Vita.

Yeah, if wi-fi is on, sleep mode eats battery. With it turned off (or playing a game where it's disabled), then I've left my Vita in sleep mode and when I've resumed it the next day, the battery level doesn't seem to have gone down.

Is nobody besides me interested in Stealth (Bastard) Inc.? I was hoping for some impressions.
I own the vanilla version on Steam but was hoping it would take off on PS4 for leaderboards and general ease of use compared to using my laptop and external monitor.

I already owned it day 1 on vita. Great game. Getting S ranks on some bosses drove me nuts.
I think it is more likely that FF will go on sale quicker before Ys and if you already played FF then it would be more worthwhile to experience something new in Ys. That is just my view if I was in your shoes

Destiny of Spirits Asia is now open. I will tinker with this for a little while, and get the special spirit Joker. FFX infuriates me now with that blitzball game.
Looks like some PSN NIS games for PS3 got a $10 price drop. Hoping for the eventual Vita port or a PS+ discount on Disgaea D2.

There is only one compulsory blitzball game though, which you can simply lose. Just skip all the rest.

It is a pay 2 win game from Sony. And you need to be online to play it. I enjoy for the beautiful artworks wasted on a F2P game. Conserve Destiny points as much as you can, they are pretty much your life line there.
EDIT: There is a free 35 destiny points for PS Plus users for in HK asia. I didn't renew mine so I'm already a bit handicapped.

I wish NISA would have dropped Clan of Champions to $10-15. I've played the Japanese demo, and it's fun, but not $20 fun. Can't believe it released at $40.
