I'll tell you that
Harvest Valley
is after
Huntsman's Corpse
, so look around there. If you also want to know another tidbit about the location of an optional boss,
there's a separate section for one connected to Hunstman's Corpse, as well!

i haven't found that either :[

Have people compiled their favorite pieces of super light armor?

I don't recall where I found it, but I have been wearing (leg armor spolier)

. It's really light and actually decent stats. I've even upgraded it a few times, because I also like the look of it.

I just started my second character- a sorcerer- and beelined for the Hexer's Armor/Sunset Staff. Dumped enough points into attunement for 3 casts, then put the rest into the 20 INT/20 FTH necessary for (early HC area NPC spoiler)
Felkin to just give you all of that equipment via dialogue.
Had it within 2 or 3 hours of starting (
Did Forest through the Last Giant, then killed the Dragonrider and consumed both of their souls- won't be needing their stuff as a caster. Backtracked to the Heide's entrance and went to the Copse to get it afterwards.
Started one shotting dudes with Dark Orb in NMW.

The set gives you 1 extra INT and FTH and the hood gives you 1 extra cast per spell slot. Furthermore, the Sunset Staff has great scaling for both sorceries and hexes, especially. (S scaling on hexes, in fact, and I believe hexes scale with whichever of FTH and INT is lower- something you'll be well positioned for having gone 20/20 right off the bat)

For those sorcerers complaining about a lack of early game upgrades or decent staves in general, this path is one you might want to follow. I have a feeling it might be the standard sorc start in the future, pending patch changes.

It's pretty much a
DPS check, do enough damage and the fight is easy as hell since you will only have 1-2 gargoyles up at any time

yup, absolutely destroyed them late game with a drakewing ultra greatsword + 5, I think I was killing them in 3 or 4 hits

Here's how to get to it, don't read if you want to figure it out for yourself.
Do you remember Licia, from after the Dragonrider battle? Exhaust all her dialogue from atop the tower, at the bonfire, and she'll move to that contraption in Majula (the one that was on the path to Heide's Tower of Flame, it was that circular room with the white box on a pole in the center), she opens it up for 2,000 souls, giving you access to Huntsman's Corpse and the later areas.
Out of curiosity, how did you get to
Iron Keep
without those areas?

so a tr
easure chest
fucking ate me

wtf
Ah, the mimics, haha. There are only a few of them in the whole game, don't worry!

Good luck, you can only summon within the
Belfry
itself (as the door to it is locked up by a fog gate if you have a phantom summoned outside of it, and the fog gate is behind you if summoned from within.

Add to the fact that the sole purpose of the covenant there is to fuck you over by continuous, never ending invasions, you'll have a hell of a time getting a summon in.

There's actually kind of a quasi-trick you can use in there to get a summon in.
At the threshold between Lost Bastille and Belfry Luna you can see inside the belfry without being inside of it. It's possible for people to put down their summon signs right on top of the bridge between the two and a host can stand in the bastille and wait for one to show up. When it appears, you can charge out of the bastille, tag the sign, and charge straight up the stairs to the fog door. If it's done properly, the host can pass through the fog door right around the time that the friendly phantom spawns. Any bell guardians will be sent home, and the co-op phantom will get the message that host has challenged the area boss. The only wrinkle is that the host will need to hold out solo against the gargoyles until the friendly phantom makes the trek up the stairs to the door.

I've only seen it happen twice, but it's possible.

Probably referring to UP, not HC. There's no way to reach IK without going through HC, but it's pretty easy to miss the turnoff for UP.

I'm using:

Mannikin Mask
Black Leather Armor +10

And various leg armor and gloves (Drangleic, Black Leather)

Black Leather is great when you upgrade it. At +10, it has 124 Phys Defense. And it only weighs 3.9 units. Great for DEX builds.

From Reddit regarding the latest update and the summoning issue atm.

http://www.reddit.com/user/jsauce2 Namco Bandai Com Mngr

Our QA team had the following on this topic. I can't say this is the case for everyone, but this is a possible explanation:

If a player tries to make a connection (summoning, getting summoned, etc.) and it fails. Due to servers being overloaded, spotty internet at the time, whatever - Then the game servers put a soft ban on that player for a short amount of time 5, 10 minutes maybe. During that time, if you try to put down a sign, it'll get rejected. They speculated that while patching was going on that the servers were just exploding and therefore things were a little rough.
I'll continue to monitor this thread to see if that may or may not be the case and pass everything along. Feel free to add an update to your post if things have changed for you. I'm hoping this resolves itself now/soon. Thanks <3

Edit: The patch was to fix an issue some folks were having where they had corrupted or broken saves.
Edit2: Ok so it's definitely more widespread than a few people and probably not related to what I stated above - Thanks for the info - We're working to solve as soon as possible. If I hear anything else I'll add it here.

Loving the title change.

i feel like such a dork this whole time I never
went down the path the miracle girl opens up in majula, I paid the souls and moved it but got caught up in doing other things

edit:

can some one try to explain, without spoiling, how
the giants memories work
I go there and I feel like I have no clue what I'm supposed to be doing or looking for.

Wow that final boss was surprisingly easy.

Yeah, the pentultimate boss was more challenging and one of the better
multiboss fights. Liked the health link mechanic implemented as the player suddenly has to change what had been the standard multiboss strat of picking one off before proceeding to the other
. Still, at least this final boss had more to it than just parrying your way to victory. (For all the atmosphere Gwyn had, he was a pretty 1 note and easy fight.)

The one person I didn't talk to opens up an area :/

never got there. am i just going to plow through an early level area now? i'm level 120..

Ok, that's good, but it doesn't change the fact that soul memory is a bad idea to prevent invasions in NG. One limitation is enough.

Is the "one limitation" you're referring to Soul Level? If so, it DEFINITELY wasn't enough. Seen and defended people from enough twinked out lowbie ganking trolls in DS1 to last a lifetime.

Screwing those people out of their little griefing party is a movement I fully support, even though it was fun to wreck their asses and help the new characters get through at times.

Need some help with the Black Gulch
When I drop down below and go into that cave with the huge monsters with clubs do you get anything for beating them. Im getting crushed and cant beat them.

Had a relatively productive night last night. Killed
Snake lady
and went to
Iron Keep and got the dull ember, made a poison spear
and bought a fragrant branch of yore. Where does statue lady go once you unfreeze her? I never gave her any clothes and she's not at the switch any more.

Also, went to
Shaded Woods
and went down the 3 paths available. What am I supposed to show to the doors to get them to open? I've not figured that out yet. The far left path was a dead end after I killedsome large enemy. The right path...fuck that path. After a couple of tries I figured it was like the hidden path in the Darkroot forest in DS1, where the players that were part of the cat covenant would come in to kill you, all invisible. So I yanked and I only ran into a couple of invisible enemies. Not sure if that made a difference.
I found the
black knight halbeard
and it actually does more damage 1 handed than 2 handed for me. Real effective vis
Scorpiochick
Didn't kill her though in the one time I tried.

So is it worth vesting much into this halbeard?

I think he's referring to the limited supply of cracked red orbs in NG. Can't even farm them indefinitely due to mob extinction.

Ha, it's alright, she'll still be there. Just go talk to her for the first time and exhaust her dialogue, you'll know when she's done talking.

Unfortunately, yes.
You haven't collected all 4 boss souls, I take it?

Yes there are a couple of good items down there, as well as for killing them.

Just noticed I've probably locked myself out of the Lucatiel and Benhart trophies. :(

How hard is it to keep them alive as boss summons during NG+?

I am not sure why, but I cant believe no one else that I have met in the entire game online has this armour. I cant imagine anything being lighter, and once you get enough twinkling titanite it will have enough defense. I doubt I will be removing it much.

She also wears it in my character showcase slideshow.

Aww, I'm slightly disappointed. I had heard if you pray to a fire thing at the end of
Shrine of Amana
, you could turn back into human an unlimited number of times (after saving those two maidens). But apparently you can only do that if you have 0 effigies left. Boo. I was wanting to keep my effigies and just go back there when I needed it.

So I'm at lost Bastille, I can't for the life of me get past that room of all those soldiers. I open the door and they all charge at me.

Anyone know where the claymore is too?

No, just 2. Is there 1 in this area or could I maybe just skip it and finish the game without going there? I was thinking it could add some new stuff when i play it a second time.

wait, curse doesn't instant kill you? so casual, wow

how do I reach this item? :

It's over a wall in Lost Bastille, right up the stairs after the bonfire with the blacksmith. I don't see any way to reach it?

What I did was open the door, walk in enough to hear their sprinting, run back out to the are with all the crates and barrels, and fight the sole group of 3 that chase. After that it's just eliminating the rest 1 or 2 at a time.

Not in this specific area, but yes their's a major one in the areas following it, so it is required. There is much to do in the game, and most people have missed various things in their first playthroughs. For example, I'm almost at the end of my first and I'm finding various early game secrets and stuff, new stuff will just come naturally, don't worry about it!

Phew,
Lost Sinner
was probably the toughest boss for me so far, it was just a huge stamina drain and I had to really be sure I could cast a spell before I commit to doing so. Took me about 8 tries. It's my first big soul too or whatever they're called, seems odd since it feels like I've already been to so many areas.

I think once this playthrough is done I'll probably see that the paths I've taken have been kind of haphazard. Feel like I've probably missed a lot of secrets too, I'm scared to use those Pharros stones since they're limited and a couple I've used were traps. :|

I gave her some gear, but pretty sure I've seen people say she's still hanging around at the same place until you do.

Buy the Claymore off a guy in that misty forest near shaded ruins

Directions:
When you enter keep left hugging the wall, you come to a clearing and there's a pile of rocks with a guys head sticking out. Talk to him a lot and he sells stuff

So we don't have the ridiculous ragdoll of past games instead we get...
