Well, it looks like mules are a thing again. Get ready for near-zero soul memory invaders ganking in the Forest and Lost Bastille with maxed out gear.

Damn, is that a glitch or legitimate? If it's not some kind of cheat I might need to do that on my katana character just to do some redesign on his face. XD

Playing through the game again wouldn't bug me in the slightest.

Llewellyn chest armor has to be the best-looking in the game. Smexy.

One of my favorite weapons in the game. I've been using it ever since I got it. It scales with DEX at S once upgraded, on top of its solid base damage, and has a nice moveset and good all-around range.

Lately I've been power-stancing both Berserker Blade +5 (also a katana) with Blacksteel Katana +10 and it's been working very nicely. Hard to beat the badass factor (especially while also wearing Llewellyn armor), and you output significant damage, especially with the various resins (which are happily far more useful than in Dark Souls 1, and the gold pine resin can now be purchased infinitely).

Aww shit. Another armor fan. Did you see my pic of my dude? http://i.imgur.com/suGwGMK.jpg

Looks totally badass when I have the blue or red aura during an invasion. I'd be scared if I saw me.

In the Gutter
What's up with the wheelchair guy? By his text I thought I need be hollow, but when I came back hollow he was gone.

He's a sneaky fucker. You gotta find him in 3 different locations before you can join the covenant.

Make sure you're wearing item discovery boosting gear, like the Traveling Merchant Hat and Gold Covetous Ring.

If you
spend enough money on that merchant at the start of Iron Keep, he gives you a Gold Covetous Serpent Ring +1 for free
. The merchant also sells the Jester Hat. which buffs item discovery as well.

Also try using a rusted coin for that extra edge. I have three Blacksteel Katanas, so they're not hugely uncommon.

I'm pretty confident that the game only takes into account one item finding piece of gear (the one being the most powerful--which is the one you have in spoiler). When I was hunting for the Black Dragon Shield, I was popping the coins like mad and they never made a sound or activated--nor did they produce an additional "buff" icon.

Hmmm...

I killed the four old ones, but the doors aren't opening for me at the two locations I know of.

Did I screw myself by making weapons out of their souls before opening the doors?

Anyone? I can't figure out where to go after beating the four old ones. The Emerald Herald in Majula is telling me to go the castle but the doors do not open.

I just messed up. Can a dark souls 2 expert lend a hand? Btw- I have yet to find the answer anywhere on the inter webs ;

I just accidentally
killed soul merchant Gavlan in no mans wharf. Apparently he can be resurrected for 3500 souls at his tombstone. Where is the tombstone? Has anyone pulled this off? have a ton of crap I want to sell

Thx for any help.

I really like the design of the
knights in Iron Keep and Iron Keep as a whole
so far. Gives off a strong Anor Londo vibe. One of them dropped a
black steel katana
. Anyone who's using it, is it any good? It looked pretty cool so I thinking of using it.

Yup, Blacksteel is a badass weapon. Mine's at +10, which gives me a great damage bonus with 40 Dex. I feel like katana in this game are a little slower than in Dark Souls, but overall I love using it. I also have a Lightning Reinforced Club +6 which I use when I need a Strike Weapon.

But when I do Bell Covenant PVP, I've been using the Black Knight Halberd. Hits hard and has good range. Joined the covenant last night, and I'm already at Rank 2. I never did PVP in Dark Souls, but I'm having fun with it. I should switch to the katana, though. Need more duel practice with it.

Did you take a left (I believe it's a left) at the forked road to the Shrine of Winter? The door there auto opens once you've lit all 4 primal bonfires. This is where you should be heading next. If you did that and you mean the doors of the massively huge castle, you need to kill those black guards near the 2 giants so their souls are absorbed by the statues--which in turn opens the door.

Yeah, those doors aren't opening, either. Maybe I didn't light a primal bonfire? I'll go back to the boss rooms.

Well, it was inevitable. And with hollow form and killing the boss no longer keeping invaders at bay, the only real defense against hacked characters will just accumulate sin, get you even more invasions, and ban you from co-op.

It's a hacked save file.

Aww sheet

Was just re running an old area and got invaded by
navlaan
again! Stuck in a small area with little choice but to fight. Shit was scary but luckily I could just stun him each time he went to attack this time.

I didn't want to get 1 shot with 2205hp :|

Oh, dang. I'll be hacking the shit out of the PC version for sure, though.

Rofl I saw all those warnings on the ground attributed to no one and was wondering wtf...when I realized what I did I quickly quit my game and luckily he wasn't freed.
Well, in the first game having different item discovery buffs were included in the total, so I assume it applies here as well.

It's just annoying in this case because they removed the item discovery stat from being shown to the player, which is a bizarre decision. So it's hard to tell exactly how it's being calculated, what the cap is, etc.

What I do know is that when I farmed for the Berserker Blade, it only took me about 20 minutes when for some it had taken literally hours. When I was farming there I had the ring, the hat, and I was using a coin every time I saw the enemy who drops that weapon. Ended up working out well, either way.

Yeah, dunno it might just be RNG. I was gobbling up every item find equip I could find to get the Black Dragon Shield--didn't stop it from taking 3 Bonfire Ascetics and an entire night, though :*(

Woohoo, finally beat Smelter Demon after losing like 50k+ souls to him. This is the first fight where summoning two phantoms didn't make the boss a joke. He was still pretty tough and I was out of estus. But poison, flash sweat and the fire ring came in handy.

Hopefully they return to hollow = no invasions if this gets out of hand. Turn the player human upon boss kill or successful co-op and it should balance itself out.

Is Ornstein real? Maybe the Ornstein in Dark Souls 1 was just an illusion, and the real one went to the abyss with Artorias which explains his new dark powers?

Also that fight was pretty enjoyable, got a MGS4 Shadow Moses kind of feel.

I'm pretty much at what I think is the end of the game.
Post King Ring, post memories
, but I feel like I just have no idea what my ultimate objective is or why I am trying to accomplish it. I think I might just not go back, even though I'm kind of just standing at the end. Reflecting on my experience with the game was kind of just that everything was a disconnected slog. The game doesn't have a good flow with difficulty or between environments. Most of the cool stuff was small flashes of something neat, but for every interesting area there were at least three more that dragged. Even what did work often felt sloppy on its execution, in large part due to the visual direction not being very cohesive.

Seems like everywhere i go, i put my summon sign down, and the first 2 times i get summoned instantly, then it falls off a cliff and i wait ages. Anyone else experienced this?

Um, I think I've encountered a glitch? I've just acquired the
kings ring
in a room with whom I assume is the owner but he is not attacking me? I thought this was intentional but I get no response after attacking him?

Anyone else with this issue? I'm waiting to progress to see if I can fix it.

The workaround I found was to apply a dot to him, bleeding or poison. Then attack.

Good progress tonight. The got the gutter area down, then finished off castle and now at shrine.

Been rocking traveling merchant armor most of the game... wish I had worn it early game too. The amount of shit that drops is great.

Ok, where did Lucatiel disappear to?

I talked to her at Bastille, Wharf, and Earthen Peak. But after talking to her at Earthen Peak, she disappeared. I'm almost at the end game and I still haven't seen her again.

Same goes for Benhart.

I just gave this a try but after he killed me (lol) the fight will start now but I can't inflict damage? is there something else I'm missing or is it another glitch?

Edit: Just saw your response ixix, thanks. I was wondering what the hell was going on Hahah

And yes, tears were shed for the ol' man, will the opportunity to fight him be presented to me or must I always keep in mind to go back?

It's not a glitch. You can get him to fight you by damaging him enough, but you're doing so little damage that you're barely even tickling him. There are things you can get to increase the damage you deal to him, and you can come back for a proper fight then.

The first time you get there you're just supposed to feel a twinge of sadness at seeing the king left in such a state, take the ring, and vamoose. That's why the music in there is trying to tug at your heartstrings.

Pathos now. Regicide later.

Banging my head against
Throne Watcher and Throne Defender
for days now. Finally give in and try to summon for help. Every time I summon people die as soon as we hit the chamber or turn right out the bomb fire to head a different way. Downed him about 4 times as a phantom helping other bros out.

Very frustrated right now

Ya I'm finding it worthless.
Yeah, it was really good in Dark Souls 1 but here it feels almost useless. I guess it's another way it's like a cross between Dark Souls and Demon's Souls.

The people at D
ragon Shrine
are mostly assholes when it comes to summoning Dragon Covenant people. However, Forbidden Sun plus Northern Ritual Band kills most of them damn fast, only a few survived past that and fortunately they tended to be more courteous opponents.

Dang, that sucks man. I 1 shot those guys. Of course I just spammed lightning spears--but it really wrecked them, big time.

Sometimes this play is magic. Went in with a Dark buff on my 2 hander and rolled my ass off and wrecked their shit. I swear sometimes the shield mentality hurts me more then it helps me.

Also now that I got that out of the way, what do i do now?
