Was the Throne Defender and Watcher supposed to be super easy? I just got invaded by Lucatiel and killed her, is she gone for good?

What about that wagon that looks like people are having sex in?

Doing PVP in Belfry Sol to get my Bellkeeper Rank 2 for the spell... Not that much action but still bearable, sadly im level 160.

10 victories so far, another 20 to go!
 
Since it has been so long, I can't remember... Where are all those "Fallen Giants" that you use the ashen mist heart to get into? I've done the one
behind the king's door in the Forest of Giants as well the one after the Pursuer boss. Where else are there some?
 
At what point does soul memory effect your ability to summon friends? Me and my friend were doing co-op all day yesterday no problems. After he logged off I wanted to get the sun sword and some titanite chunks so I was doing sunbro-op and invading. After that I had a 955,881 soul memory, and my friend had a 800,000 plus one. Now he can only summon me, but I can't summon him. Does soul memory have to be more or less the same to co-op? We also, had the Name-engraved rings on.
 
So I'm about 99% positive I'm at the at the end of the game. Any have a check list of things to do before beating it? I'm currently at

I got to the non-boss fog door, and once I killed the temple knights there a mage appeared with no staff. She doesn't attack me, she only backs off when I come near hear. The game treats her as a hostile (I can lock on), but I decided not to attack her incase it's some merchant I angered or something. Is this supposed to happen or some kind of bug?

Not a bug, apparently that's
an Archdrake Maiden and she can cast healing spells for the other enemies. Or so says IGN anyway.

STR does more damage this time around, but it might not really matter when using the Claymore. And geez, are you wearing some incredibly heavy armor? You would be better off just wearing the Royal Soldier's ring, and possibly the Dragon ring if you need your armor to slow you down less. That would allow you to put those points elsewhere. I'm also not sure END beyond 29 scales very well. I think it starts adding a single point instead of two from 30 onward.

Many of the rings in this game have +1 and +2 versions as well.

Any good STR scaling weapon you would recommend ? Or DEX A weapons are better ?
 
Okay, I took a break from the game for a few days because to be quite honest I'm not terribly enjoying it. I'm new to the online components of the series for the most part so I have no idea what is happening or if I'm somehow triggering this, but how/why am I fucking non-stop being summoned into other people's games as a gray phantom? In two of the three areas I have open to me right now (at least that I know of) I'm just getting summoned non-stop. It's incredibly fucking annoying, preventing me from making progress, and is just even further making me want to stop playing this game. I'm assuming I'm missing something obvious? My first thought is that it's because I'm in the sunbro covenant, but I've been in that for a while and this wasn't happening before?

Those two areas are the only areas it ever happens in, and you're being summoned so members of the Rat covenant can kill you and get Pharros stones. It's annoying, but you don't lose anything if you die (except your own time). No way to stop it but to play offline.

ancient dragon and have the giants kinship from their memories
but I still plan on looking around, farming for some items, ect before I start NG+. Ohh ya, and

Oh okay, that makes sense because there's a shitload of spots to use those in the two areas, which as an aside is also incredibly annoying/stupid on it's own. Thanks!

On the opposite side of where he is trapped. Like when you come from the bonfire, Navlaan is on the right and the switch is in a identical corridor to the left

Ah ok, i see. Thanks for the info =) I thought i checked that area, but apparently i didnt check it close enough. Good thing that i didnt, otherwise i would probably have pulled the switch not knowing what it did hehe.
 
Holy shit I found the third bonfire in Ir
on Keep

For the easily distracted like me, in the last
fire room, before the last turtle guy there's a stair that I had never noticed before.

Upstair there is a red phantom, at least in NG+, and in a further stair, a bonfire and a lever that turns off the fire breathing bulls everywhere.

Weirdest is the name of the place, Eigyl's Idol.

- before the first ironclad soldier, go the the right.
- after that long hallway full of ironclad soldiers, next to the bonfire.

If you look around it seems like you're inside the head of a big statue/idol (the holes in the walls are eye shaped), so I guess that's where the name comes from.

You get a permanent 10-15% hit on your health bar, not sure if it goes below the 50% you would get for repeated deaths. Thankfully it only took me three summons to get human, this cured it, and I have not been cursed since.

SO answer me this GAF....how the heck does the elemental stat bonus system work??!?!!? I ve near played halfway through the game, consulted my guide, and it is not obvious to me. Help an old concussed man out please folks. What stat would someone raise to improve lightning for example? FAI and INT seem separate, and you get the little fire and lightning symbols now....I get it, elemental are more viable now...BUT WHAT CHARACTER STATS govern them?!?!

INT governs fire and magic, FAI governs lightning and dark, I think.

If you come from below and your at the pier, there is a guy who shoots arrows at you. Close to here there is a stairway. Go up these stairs, and about mid way through the stairs its possible to go to the right. In this area there is a Pharros contraption. Use a Pharros Stone there and the lights will turn on =)

I'm not a mage character, but as far as I understand:

-INT raises magic
-FAI raises lightning
-INT and FAI raise fire
-The lowest of INT and FAI raises dark

Not too sure about the latter two, someone would need to confirm that.

She said she was headed to Majula, I rested at a bonfire a couple of times, but I don't see her anywhere.

So as a melee character, it never makes sense to use an elemental weapon?

As others said, circle strafe him to the left. He'll pretty much always whiff if you're under his raised arm when he swings. Be patient and just get one, maybe two swings in, you'll want to keep your stamina up. I munched a green blossom before the round hat I beat him on. After his jump attack get away, as he'll do an area blast attack. Now is a good time to heal. I think once you get him to half health he goes full aggro and has a fire sword, and at this point I think he changes up his swings. Circling to the left won't dodge everything anymore, so just keep an eye on which arm raises his sword and go to that side. Patience is really key to this fight, as you'll want to keep an eye on your stamina at all times. It's tempting to whack him with everything you've got after he misses you, but an empty stamina bar will spell death for you.

Also, a big shield will really help here.

Just killed the throne defender dudes. I dont see anyway to advance there. Also theres nothing the king door in Giant's Forest
 
Is there a limit to how many times you can be summoned to help? I'm farming some souls by beating a boss over and over again via summon.

thanks guys, like an idiot I upgraded my heide sword just before I got the black steel katana drop, now I have no materials .....can anyone confirm if I can revert the Heide to normal and not lose the upgrades? Looks like I will have to kill the Smelter Demon before I can get the large shards I need to better equip my character. actually, maybe I'll just change the character into a faith dex build and be done with it. I cant imagine how much better my heide sword +8 would be with more than 5 FAI.[rolleyes]

McDuff now sells unlimited large shards NEVERMIND!

2 inept or 2 AdErPT take your pick.

Mastodon Greatsword, Persuer's Ultra Greatsword, Large Club, Demon's Great Hammer, or many of the various Halberds have pretty good STR scaling. The best weapons in the end though are just those that have movesets you enjoy, and you happen to be able to kill enemies without any issues with.

For DEX, it's mainly just Katanas, Spears, Scythes and Pikes. Estoc is pretty nice if you like the Claymore. It has a similar moveset, but it's much faster (while doing less damage per hit).

One of the best PvE weapons that has no scaling though would be the Santier's Spear. It's pretty easy to get, but you need to do something particular to it to get the "real" version of the weapon. It ends up being a weapon with a moveset that's a combination of a twinblade and a halberd, with some crazy reach.
 
Before the patch, I was able to find summon signs from my buddy while we were wearing the same name ring/same covenant, now, we can't see each other's signs, we're 3 levels apart, what's going on?

Keep looking or you can go to
Heide's Tower -> No-Man's Wharf -> Lost Bastille
. You will still need to look around to find the next area !

Edit : Nevermind, it seems you are talking about something else...
