The rat covenant is also active in Doors of Pharos, that's why the enemies don't attack you.

Weird because the 2 enemies of the same time after a boss but before this area attacked me.

Thanks I guess I'll leave the covenant and join it later I'd rather have the souls.

Is there an objectively "best" (Ultra) Greatsword that one should focus on upgrading? I have a fully upgrade Black Knight Halberd (which is good), but for enemies/bosses that you can only hit like once before having to GTFO of there, I'd rather have something even stronger.

Depends on your stats, but the Pursuer's is 390 attack at +5 and has A scaling in STR with a C in DEX.

The regular greatsword is 400 at +10 with an A in STR and D in DEX. You'd be able to upgrade it to +10 much earlier than the Pursuer's too.

So...

Is 100 Agility is a good point to stop, whichever way you get there?

Don't know how much beyond 100 makes a real difference, but I was feeling a pretty large difference going from 85 to 100. It also shouldn't matter if you're using ATT or ADP to hit whatever agility number you're going for. ADP just raises it slightly faster. As a caster, you might just go 40 ATT and then whatever in ADP that's required to get the last 7.

Nobody knows exactly how Agility works yet.

At the first bonfire in D
rangleic Castle
, the room to the right with the statue guards and sentinels behind the doors.
The only way to clear that room is by funneling the enemies into one of the secret passages, one by one, right?

I did it last night but it was some five star bullshit.

At least I have my Faraam armour now. Worth wearing just for the cloth physics on the coat.

Nice one. I'm pretty dodge heavy at the moment, so I need to get the most out of it. I'll chuck some in Equip Load too, just in case.

Hey gaf, is it normal that I lit 3
primal bonfires (lost sinner, corpse thing and now that spider, but only the spider had a great soul on the floor ? Did I miss anything ?

He can be pretty much cheesed tho. There are various ways to make that easy fight even easier.
explain? I'd like to try that part and that "trick".

oh, is someone selling repair powder without limits? -
also, if someone is running some pyromancy build, is better pyromancy flame full upgraded or the dark one (still full upgraded) for a character with low int/faith?
anyone? :x

So I'm in the BG and there's this
giant big
bug thing that doesn't seem to give a fuck about me
should I kill it?

Edit : awesome level by the way, I don't get the hate.

You should stick some points into equip load it's been real helpful to boost it. It's a shame it's not tied to endurance but oh well.

I love that old knight great sword so good, I'm going to use the drangelic once if I bump my dexterity up. How good are the ultra great swords in this game? I've seen the black knight one and and a old knight one so far but I've not had them drop.

I never played a dark souls or a Demon Souls.

What is the difference between those games ? Why is dark souls considered the better game ?

So you cant escape anymore when he punched you in the back?

You can try to roll away and sometimes they'll get the missed backstab animation, but if they connect with it then that's all.

Alternatively, where the Iron Clad armour and be immune to backstabs.

I thought that was the big feature of dark souls 2.

Don't see a difference to part 1 regarding backstabs.

Well, the guard break move helps, I don't think the crit damage is as crazy, hornet's ring is gone, it's harder to roll through peoples attacks and backstab them, and you can't just stack poise and circle around while getting attacked.

Some people still try the shield-up-strafe-around thing but I don't think it works well in this game.

Just wear the turtle armour, it's cute!

Ugh, how do I read the melee weapon attack stat page again?

I have two swords: Broadsword+5 and some other sword +3.

The broadsword does 180 physical damage. The other sword 150 or so. I can upgrade them both with a large titanite shard. The broadsword would go to 192. The other sword 162. The thing is, the other sword has 80 bleeding attack.

Which sword does more damage and which sword is best to upgrade?

I've been using this broadsword for basically the entire game. Just beat
the poison valley.

Anyone? How do I read this? :(

I've never really like bleed weapons in PVE, would rather just go for raw damage/elemental. What is your STR/Dex stats? If you have stat investment in INT/Faith then magic/lightning/fire would be better for a weapon than bleed.

My lady:

Fresh into NG+, slayed
The Last Giant, Pursuer (first encounter) and Old Dragonslayer
thus far. Been doing some jolly cooperation to get my Sunbro rank up, sadly the soul rewards aren't as substantial as I hoped.

is destroying me. He's too quick to let me heal, his lock on range is too short for me to run away and keep an eye on him while I heal, the window in which I can hit him is too short, his swipe is too wide and his attacks are too powerful & quick for my stamina to allow me to get close and try and get behind him.

And the camera has a fit when he jumps into the air, meaning I'm often unprepared when he comes back down.

Gonna take on
Huntsman's Copse
, upgrade my stamina and come back I think

If you beat
the Belfry Gargoyles
first you'll find a key that lets you
relight the chamber you fight him in, restoring your ability to lock on.

I absolutely could NOT beat him. I did yesterday after dying at least 20 times when I realized I had to dodge rather than block. Roll into him to his right and just keep pecking away. It took me about 7 minutes of intense concentration to beat him.

For the record I could not beat the boss that makes it "easier".

If you beat the Belfry Gargoyles you get a key that allows you to light up the area and have a more reliable lock on. If you are having trouble with them, try using gold pine resin and spamming attacks. You can't be patient against them.

I managed to beat him without it though. If I remember correctly, you can pretty easily dodge his attacks by rolling towards/behind him. I just walked up to him with my shield up and waited for him to attack to roll behind him.

Can I access the D
arklurker fight
from any of the portals? Reason being, I didn't encounter it until Shaded Ruins but would rather fight it at the castle to cut down on backtracking.
