Pretty damn powerful once you get a good chime, the dragon chime with the 50 faith requirement is a beast once upgraded to +5 lightning.

Sunlight Spear/Great lightning spear wreck things.

You can pretty much do it purely, maybe a few points in STR/Dex. The starter mace of the cleric is actually OP as hell. 1 point in STR to 1hand it, upgrade to +10 lightning and you don't really need to spend another point on STR or Dex.

I went 20STR/13Dex for the Claymore <3 Currently trying 25/15 to wield the Avelyn +10 lightning, but a little unimpressed by it.

I'm an idiot, slap lightning bolts into the Avelyn and it's pretty boss (was using heavy).

Final stats (not completed game, but not levelling anymore in NG)

With the 25STR15DEX split I can also jump between my Lightning Claymore +10 and my lightning Zweihander +10. Good times. Final stats

SL 130

VGR - 20
END - 20
VIT - 20
ATN - 30
STR - 25
DEX - 15
ADP - 4
INT - 4
FTH - 45 + (5 from ring and 2 from helm) = 52

Wielding a Lightning Claymore/Lighting Zweihander +10 depending on circumstances. Lightning Dragon Chime +5, Lightning Avelyn +10, Royal Kite Shield +10, Creightons Chest/Legs, Insolent Helm, and Engraved Gauntlets. Clear Bluestone Ring +2, Southern Ritual Band +2, Ring of Prayer, Second Dragon Ring (Soon to be Third).

Below 70% for fast roll.

a melee char can't beat D
arklurker
right?

Dark
Havel
is kicking my ass almost everytime i try to get the boss.
i have only 10 humanity items left.

:(

On the contrary, I beat it first try with a DEX build (dual Uchigatanas). Just know when to dodge and pull a straight up killer offense and you're set.

Curiously, it didn't
split in half for me, probably because I wrecked it in like a minute.

Just finished first play through. Definitely the weakest of the three, but, guess you can't strike lightning three times in a row.

1 hallway in the entire place. Plus, it looked so much better in the previews :(

not disagreeing here, but I thought the hallway (that shit's huge!) was neat. a lot of the locations looked like early 90s geocities homepages, though.

some things looked even better in the beta. :/

Do some pharros mechanisms reset over time? I activated some near the rat statues "down in that area." Anyways, I come back later, and none of them are activated anymore. :/ is this a part of abandoning a covenant?

Where do you get a second Uchi? I have the one McDuff sells but he only carries 1.

I'm now almost 80 hours into the game, level 170, and still not done. I bet I have at least 5 to 10+ hours left too (At Drangleic Castle). I'm really really high level compared to what others have said they beat the game at. But I am also taking my time and also a Sorcerer with high levels in Int/Faith/Atn.

On the flip side, my Fire magic & Sunlight Spear do quite a lot of damage now.

Even so it's a base formula that still makes for amazing games, even if you axed the difficulty it'd still be way more enjoyable than a lot of games.

Though if you did that you'd absolutely have to ramp up the Metroidvania aspects, because with pushover enemies a bit of extra traversal doesn't matter much.

Nice you won't need to really ever level again. I beat the game three times at that level. You could probably plow through the game in half the time, but don't cause it's oh so wondrous.

Spin to win. Though not as bad as magic users that's for sure.
I have no issues killing magic users though, spell parry and being under 40% weight makes getting out of the way of their stuff cake. Trying to dodge and react to the spin is hard as hell in lag, and if I get clipped by even one spin 1/3rd of my life is gone.

Basically lag makes any wide hitting attacks in this game way too good

Finally beat Smelter Demon and Old Iron King after some jolly cooperation.

Iron keep is great. Now on to that petrified lady gate lol.

Edit: whats the purpose of pharros lockstone in IK? I used it but only water came out of it.

What's a good upgrade to a Bastard Sword? Been using it and the Drangleic Sword as backup for almost the entire game playing a STR/DEX build. I thought the Sun Sword with it's awesome scaling would be best, but it does less damage at +10 than a +10 Bastard Sword. Any suggestions?

Can someone tel me how I can reach Iron Keep? I'm sure I can go there, but I have no idea where it is.

Upper earthen Peak, beat the
Medusa boss
, that will take you to an elevator straight to IK. Left then downstairs is the first IK bonfire.

Edit: Make sure to burn
the Windmill with your torch, before fighting the Medusa to drain the poison on her level

So what's the recommended level for PVP? 150? I have a build set for 120 but another 30 levels could make me a lot more beastly.

Currently have four weapons at +10:

Falchion
Uchigatana
Blacksteel Katana
Sun Sword

And can dual wield with all four. Haven't decided which combination to go with for the final build yet.

Finally beat
The Lost Sinner!

Too bad about Lucatiel though. If she's vanquished is that it as far as getting a trophy with her?

You risk parrying with lag?

Just finished it..
73 hours, 314 deaths.
Hopefully in Dark Souls 3 they make the heavy armor worth wearing. It's pointless to wear the heavier stuff as it makes you slow for barely better protection.

A lot of Heavy Armor is for that Poise.

Wow, i literally just finished the game and watched the credits, quit to main menu, and my save file is completely gone. I can only choose "new game" and "information" on the title screen. I wasn't planning on playing any more on this character, but it is weird that it would just straight up delete the save without saying anything... If that had happened before i finished it, i would have been so angry. I ended up completing it at 44 hours, so that's quite a bit of progress that could have been lost!

Anyway, i really enjoyed the game. Overall, i think it's better than Dark Souls, and about as good as Demon's Souls. In many ways, this game is sort of what i expected the original Dark Souls to be, as a sequel to Demon's Souls. They didn't end up taking too many chances with the first one though, so i'm happy they tried some new and different things in this one.

I got a very odd bug today. I was trying to get to the beginning of T
he
G
utter
, and I saw that all treasure in G
rave
of the S
aint
respawned, be it on a corpse or in a chest...without doing anything.

What's also weird is that the Pharros' Lockstone I used to
create a bridge
had been removed, and
the bridge was raised
once again.

I joined the bell keepers covenant and it hasn't let me invade a single time, but ive been invaded 5 times. Is this normal? I thought i would be the invader every time.

I'm in the area with a bunch of Pharros doors. Are all of them worth opening? Where do you even get all the lockstones to open all these doors? Are there any must open ones?

You need to wear the ring near the belfry tower to get summoned. Only being in the covenant doesn't help. And it is normal that you get invaded even if you are in the same covenant. They are no excuses for trying to ring the bell !!!!!

When I was there today I was summoned about 20 times with even no time to change my equipment between the summonings. There was very much traffic today. Got 18 titanite chunks out of this. Maybe you were one of my victims?

tried some pvp on the IK bridge. it seems most people in my range ~130 have pretty good gear and stuff i haven't seen yet. the experience was mixed. some people were pretty good, other were just swinging their lag weapon or trying to fight walking backwards and casting spells. doesn't sound like fun, because it sure isn't. i even had 2 runners i had to chase down. they were running all over the map, ugh. about 80% were bowing before fighting, so that's positive. even had one havel guy turtling and trying to backstab.

i used their dragon cov. signs to summon them. why do you turn hollow when you lose a pvp fight`? seems like a pain.

I am wearing it

Best to do this is at soul level between 60 and 80. Best place is directly at the bonfire near the tower or exploring the nearer rooms. I got over 20 summons today with only seconds waiting for the next invasion. In the end it was that somehow annoying that I couldn't even take a step without getting called :)

I miss my female knight. She is stuck at Huntsman's Copse, waiting for me to come back and guide her through hostile territory but alas, I won't get quality play time until Tuesday. In the meantime, it's enough for me not to read every single spoiler I've come across. Goddamn you guys and all your free time! *shakes fist ruefully*

I just lost in PVP to a naked guy duel-wielding caesti. He rolled under my first swing and then comboed me non-stop until he ran out of stamina for more than 1000 dmg. Fist weapon damage is legit now!

Jesus Christ, got my first real red player invader in the damn castle. Glad I found the bonfire right before it or I would've been pissed. Would've had a fair fight except the enemies were still around,

So question, I heard I can get the +3 attunement slot ring from a certain boss, If I'm still on NG, and I use the Bonfire aesthetic on the bonfire before that boss, and I kill it, I can get that ring?
