My son has been playing through Dark Souls little by little. Just yesterday he finally took out Moonlight Butterfly after a fair amount of frustrating attempts. He got the classic Dark Souls omg-just-one-more-hit death back to back at one point. It was great to see his reaction when he finally did it. I love the Souls games.

Really digging this and I was worried I wouldn't after the last parts of Dark Souls made me just quit the game altogether.

Question, I killed the Last Giant as my first boss. I hadn't even figured out how to level up yet, but now I have. Where should I go next? Is there a recommended order for tackling the bosses? The only place I've found is an underground tunnel that dead ends (under Majula) and a path where a statue blocks the way. What's a good place to visit next?

One more question Aldia's Keep:
What is with the chained wall/door? It doesn't open with Aldia's Key. I can't get a troll over far enough.

that's amazing, how old is your son?

Guys, what is the name of this area? and how do i get there?

thanks.
Is that after Heide's before No Man's Wharf? That must be
the Blue Cathedral place. Get there from the Heide's.

More spoilery:
It's a bonfire after an optional boss in Heide's. No idea why it's a separate area. There's also nothing really there, but maybe more stuff shows if you join the covenant that's based there.

If you see this wagon rockin' don't come a knockin'

Just another throwback to Demon Souls. Gonna guess there is one of those petrifying lizards inside, if you can bring a troll all the way back there

:lol

should I say yes or no to the guy in the magic barrier? dont wanna mess anything up

There's a bonfire there because not only is the covenant based there but you also need to go there for sparring to farm Cracked Blue Eye Orbs.

You can get to Heide's Tower of Flame from Majula. There's a
Staircase that leads to some ankle high water and a closed door/wall, but you can pull a ring on the wall to get past
. Totally missed it as well on my first playthrough and didn't do that area until much later. It's a common mistake.

Then how did you guys progress?? I thought after the Forest you had to go through the Tower of Flame to move on?

The L
ost
S
inner
fight in NG+ is sooooo goooood.

Particularly if you summon bros, and then the sinner brings his own pyro bros, it quickly becomes a clusterfuck and you end up running after the host to heal him, while fending off the pyros.

He is 10. He plays mostly Minecraft and Halo Reach/4, but he has my genes and can get busy with the hardcore stuff when he wants. Dark Souls has been a lengthy quest for him where he picks it up and puts it down consistently but he wants to see it through after watching me play so much of it.

What's with the
dude in the wheelchair
? I've seen him twice now and I assume I need to see him once more to activate some kind of event? How do I get to him in
Shaded Woods
?

There's a
hole to drop down to his area hidden in the grass above. It's in the same area with the larger hole that you use to drop down into the basilik/Ornifex room.

I was reading and apparently those spells can be brought in ng+

I'm working on the miracle trophy and they do not phuk around in ng+ :(

They cannot be bought in ng+, not even with an ascetic. Has to be ng++.

Nice to know someone else has done this. Sweet.

Me too. Completed 2.5 playthroughs and 1000 GS with a 100% melee tank character.

I feel like I'm missing something in the Gutter. It looks like I can see items off in the distance but can't see how to get to them. Found 2 bonfires and no boss
not including Black Gulch
I have used the key on the door with
Havel's armour!

I googled about it and got talk of a zipline. I haven't come across a zipline in the Gutter yet, so either there's a ladder up somewhere I haven't got to yet or I've missed an entrance or something?

You are my hero. Raise him right, man. Grit.

Mastodon halberd is what I traded my mace for. Great all around weapon and has great reach. The sprint attack makes you a helicopter of death.

Think I might consider following this route myself. Been looking for a decent halberd forever.

Pursuer -> Lost Bastille
That's what I did too. When I hit the Sentinels in the Bastille I figured I should probably come back later and ran through Heide's first.

I still keep the mace around ~just in case~, but the halberd really is the new BKGA.

Also playing this tank build is making me worse at the game. Don't need to dodge shit when I have an upgraded Havel's greatshield.

Few ways to progress.

#1
Forest - kill Last Giant, kill Pursuer then The Lost Bastille - there is a 'nest' after the Puruser and a bird will fly you over.

#2
Heide Tower of Flame - kill the Dragon Rider. Can then either proceed to No Mans Warf then The Lost Bastille, or get the Miracle girl to move (exhaust her dialog), and get her to open up the path to Huntmans Copse

There is also the option of
Jumping down the pit in Majula and doing Grave of Saints - Gutter - The Black Gulch

On my first play through I jumped all over.
Last Giant, Pursuer, Dragon Rider, Flexile Sentry, moved over to Huntmans Copse, opened up Harvest Valley, then went back to The Lost Bastille, Gargoyls, The Last Sinner, then Shaded Ruins area, Doors of the Pharos, then going back for Earthen Peak, Iron Keep
.... really can jump all over in an odd order if you want.

Ok, I lit a Primal Bonfire last night at the place with all of the poison-spitting statues with green shit on them. Can't remember the boss' name, but it was the one
that looked like it was made up of a bunch of writhing corpses and had a cleaver-like weapon/ There are fire-pits all over the battle area
.

I think something bad happened, though, and I need confirmation.

I summoned Lucatiel (sp) and, naturally, she got vanquished because all she did was stand right next to the asshole whacking away. Does this mean I can't complete her story arch?

That would bum me out, as I was really fascinated by that character and I can't think of a way to beat that boss without
her being pummeled to death
.

Is it true that you can (Earthen Peak boss spoiler/question)
drain the poison from the arena of the poison princess boss (forget her name)?
My friend hinted that it was possible but I've been scouring the area and have yet to find any kind of switch or anything.

Any hints would be appreciated.

So is there any good swords or anything for Dexterity? I typically build a high strength character, but after Dark Souls 1, and having to basically be tied to big, giant weapons for the most part, I decided to change it up this time. I wanted some faster weapons and so far I'm still just using the fire sword you find.
