Easier to land flame swathe in Luna though!

that's my point, the luna version gets you as you are spawning so even if you bring it with you you are toast before you use it back on them. I have yet to be ganked at sol, there are multiple spawn points more so than luna......but there have been a few cocky campers who clear the area and then use the massive pyro's etc. just fewer.

I have only been a covenant member a couple days and got to level two:

you get the
hidden weapon sorcery
on top of all the chunks and the
slab
for level 1 its a darn good covenant.

Don't listen to this man. There's a questline that can only be done if you don't pull the switch.
Said questline gives you a fireball greater than chaos fireball, and a sorcery that requires 52 intelligence. Then he becomes a shopkeeper. Next spoiler is giving details on what the quest is.

Talk to him in his cell. He wants you to murder people and bring back proof(You keep the proof, you just have to show it to him). You can get all the proof without murdering anyone.

zzz

pull the switch and suffer the consequences like a true bro.

Actually doing what you're supposed to do is for ng+.

You have to
kill an enemy right next to the golem. The golem will absorb its souls and ignite the torch. The same concept is used to open the front doors of the castle. I'm not sure if any enemy will do in this room of if it has to be a Ruin Sentinel

Ohhh okay.

Well, as a Pyro/Cleric I didn't have too much trouble clearing this room. I'll light them both and let you guys know what happens.

EDIT: Nothing
apparent
happened. >:-/

Not mentioning the hollow/human part and make it sound like you can only use him as a shopkeeper after the questline

Nothing I said was untrue, I just wasn't as detailed as I otherwise could have been. It's still more advantageous to not hit the switch.

Hey, that was the only thing I did properly in side quests in playthrough 1 =(

And spells stack so doing it in multiple playthroughs help.

Welp, just beat N
ashandra
. Pretty damn easy to be honest. being close enough, even when directly infront was enough to dodge the melee attacks. I did get cursed a couple times but I eventually figured out how to avoid it.

Now, since I couldn't go back through the fog gate and ended up activating the cutscene, am I forced into NG+ or can I go back in and chose to go to NG+?

Choose it when you want at the bonfire.

I am so clooooooooooooooose to get platinum but I don't think I can make it into NG++ in decent time with so many backlog.
And now with Reaper of Souls my time for DS2 will lessen even more.
Does anyone know at what point does each covenant(name too would be helpful) will give out their unique spell: Magic, Pyro, Miracle?

So looking at the list, I missed three bosses.

Ancient Dragon - NPC, didn't want to tackle until I'd at least beat the game.
King Vendrick - Not a chance, until I hunt down all those giant souls.
Darklurker - Covenant quest line. Meh.

Would like to do them, but I think I'll save them until my PC run. Done with the PS3 build for now.

any tips for last boss?

Destroy the dark orbs by "hitting" them. There's no visual feedback, but they'll dissipate if you strike them. Otherwise just learn the attacks. Scythe swings are heavy and hugely telegraphed, should be fairly ease to roll out of. Use attack windows for 1 - 2 shots, weapon depending. Avoid the laser.

Waiting to get summoned in the
throne of want
and decided to check out the 20 or so bloodstains in the arena. well, out of all of them, about 5 are players actually dying to damage :P

Hrm, might not be too bad.

Where do you get Lightning Spears at?

You get them from speaking to the female Cleric/Priestess right next to the bonfire after killing
Dragonrider
.

Also, I have no idea how you're only doing 83 damage. Even with the default Soul Arrow, you should be doing almost 200. You need to upgrade your staff (or chime) if you haven't been.

Sorry if asked a lot: how long do NPCs stay aggro?

Details:
Miracle lady from Heide's Tower required (?) to access Huntsman's Copse has a fuckton of health and heals herself (obv) on top of it. Like fighting Havel as SL1 with your fists. Fuck me. Must've backstabbed her ten times doing 450+ damage each time, downed six estuses in the process, she heals and, bang, half her health back. Fuuuuck.

Seems like it's taking forever. Something else I can do besides wait/avoid her?

Well then there are a TON of highly rated troll illusionary wall messages. :P

Here is a list of all (?) the illusory walls:

Why'd you attack her lol?

Made it through
Harvest Valley
and just want to know if I missed out on any useful items in the green fog and all that crap. How in the hell are you supposed to stay alive down there?

Ok first of all she gets all snippy and snotty at me
when I don't buy any miracles, so I already don't like her, then I get down there and realize I don't have the cash to pay her for her sudden delusions of grandeur gatekeeper bullshit, then I remembered from a past playthrough that she drops the key to the thing, so I take my hammer to her.
Woops.

Ha. That made my day. I almost straight up assassinated her too. So snooty. Do I look like I need your damn miracles!?

Just lost 1.9 million souls thanks to being distracted and forgetting I needed to go back and grab them. Didn't need them as I'm more or less done with the character and earned them all today by helping people in co-op, but that sinking feeling still happens anyway.

1.9 million?

I'm pretty sure I would never play Dark Souls 2 again

Are you supposed to go to the
Last Bastille
after you beat the second boss in the Forest of Fallen Giants?

The only other place I think I have access to is the
Tower of Flame
.
