Ok that explains a lot. Goodbye ten effigies wasted this afternoon! You need to go through the other two areas, which can be entered at the oher two portal locations. The level will only deepen after you cleared all three.

I want to respec my DEX/Faith build because it isn't as fun for me as in DS1. Which stats do I have to level to get a quality build? Or should I go for STR/Faith (Int)?
So what's up with the? I see a ton of bloodstains on the ground but there's nothing in there butthrone room at Drangelic Castle.two thrones
NG+ or a bonfire ascetic. It's a hell of a fight.
Who drops them?was enough for me. Just charge at them with my Greatsword, don't need no stinky bows. I didn't mind the area at all, and it's a great place to farm forHavel's Shield. The music was haunting and the boss was cool, I don't get the hate for the area.Twinkling Titanite

Who drops them?
I think it had a limited moveset and was extremely easy to beat. A lot of bosses in the game look impressive but once you figure out their attack patterns they go down easily.(Shrine of Amana spoiler)
That was hardly just anyfrog. Thing had a creepy giant skeleton-demon living inside of it and would swat at you with arms protruding out of its mouth.
It's just the sort of unsettling and evocative enemy design I love from the series. Wish there had been a lot more of that. Also, great boss name.
Why - after 55 treacherous, death-laden hours - did I just now discover that guard-breaks can be followed up with a critical attack!?
So goddamn awesome.
Where can you even do that?Welp, I spent 158000 souls to absolve my sins before ng. What happens? It's done nothing. Still a "sinner"....
Now I'm curious

Is it specific animation?
Just to be clear regarding Bonfire Aestic and NPCs, if isummoned Bernhart for the Magus boss, then i summon him for the Mirror Knight boss and beat him, can i then go back to Brightstone Cove, use a Bonfire Aestic and fight Magus again?
So I've done (early area spoilers)The Forest of Giants (avoided the Lost Bastille for now), finished Heide's, tried No-Man's Wharf (no, man) and I'm just whacking the boss in The Cathedral of Blue.
Are there any good light armours I may have missed? I'm still in my Wanderer's gear.
After you fightWhere can you even do that?
Similar to previous games. You hear the sound when you're successful then you go in and you do a special animation like with a backstab.
The Varangian chest the dudes inwas a decent upgrade from the Wanderer coat for me. It's not too heavy, lighter than Alva chest, iirc.Wharf
I think you can summon him there. From what i know, you can summon him forFuck, we can summon him for Mirror? Did I just screw myself outta a trophy?
Where can you even do that?
I think you can summon him there. From what i know, you can summon him for. I dont think that you screwed yourself out of a trophy just yet. It should be possible to use a Bonfire Aestic, which should allow you to fight the same boss over again. You dont have to do this forMagus, Mirror Knight, The Giant Lord and the last bossMirror Knight, it can be done for any boss where Bernhart is summonable, and the easiest one is the Magus boss.
Ahhh, thanks.
I'll take a look see. I looked up Alva Set and it looks pretty sweet. If I can get my equip load to about 65-70, I should still be able to roll about like a nutter with it. May have to ditch the helmet, though.

Once you can get Black Leather (from, you'll be good to go. At +9 the chest has 120 something physical defense and under 5 units of weight. You can pair that with heavy legs and gloves and still be pretty light.the ladder merchant in Earthen Peak
Black leather, eh? Is that basically? If so, that'd be amazing.Thief's Set from DS1
I don't even know where that is! I'm only really on my second area after Majula. Hunting Katanas, innit?
Yup, same as in DS1. I replace the gloves with gloves from the Leather set, or Drangleic gauntlets. Upgraded Black Leather boots are decent, sometimes I switch to Drangleic leggings or the Alonne Knight ones.
And you can get a katana in the area directly after the one where you get Black Leather.
Talk to the miracle trainer in Heide's Tower til she exhausts her dialogue. She relocates to Majula, on the path towards Heide's. Pay her 2000 souls and she unlocks a path that will get you moving towards the Black Leather set area. It'll take a while though.
No problemOk thanks. Mirror was pretty easy so I didn't summon.
Damn, i just disconnected when i got invaded, and when i went back online again, i was greeted with this:

I had no idea that you would be punished for disconnecting while being invaded. I suck at PvP and i kinda hate being invaded since i pretty much always lose, so so far i have mostly been disconnected when getting invaded. I have probably done it at least 5 times though, so its not just because of one disconnect. It seems that you only get one Bone Of Order too, so if you mess up twice with one character, then you cant summon or be summoned with that character ever again :
In one way, it is a good thing i think, because it keeps the online community regarding invaders more active. But if you hate getting invaded though, then there isnt much you can do about it.
No problemYeah, if i remember correctly,
is the only boss in the game that i beat on my first try. Well, i also beatMirror Knightthe Dragonrider boss in Heide's Tower, but that was just pure luck because the boss walked off the platform and died after just one swing at me. I didnt even attempt to do this, it just happened.
I'm not sure if I'm happy with my build after co-oping with other players. Str-based with greatswords were doing back stabs for 1000 damage while I barely get 450 for one with my Dex weapons.
SL120, current stats:
Vit: 7
End: 16
Vig: 7
Atn: 20
Str: 23
Dex: 40
Adp: 12
Int: 40
Fai: 8
Using Sun Sword +10, Blacksteel Katana +10. Also have a bow and staff at +7 and +5 respectively (but the staff is a twinkly upgrade).
Should I respec? Or I think maybe go to 150 and get Dex and Int to 50 and put the rest in End/Adp. I dunno. My build feels underpowered to me but maybe I'm mistaken.
I can't be the only one who wore their starting armour for the entire game, right? Didn't upgrade it neither.
Going to shift my dex int build to a quality build. Any good bows I should work towards getting so I have a viable long range option?
I'm just using a Short Bow I found that happened to be infused with Lightning. I upgraded it and it already does pretty good damage.
Yeah I have a short bow as well, I want something real big though.
Hehe, i actually agree
Yeah, invasion seems to happen rarely indeed. I might be mistaken, but i feel that everytime i get invaded, it is when i have a higher soul count. When i was invaded now, i had about 80k souls, and a few days ago when i was invaded, i had about 120k souls.Oh, so that's what happens. I heard about a penalty but didn't know the details. That's pretty good. Sometimes I just sit and wait for the invader or keep moving to another area. I don't mind dying to invaders anymore. Always keep Ring of Life Protection around. Although invasions are so rare they don't bother me like they did with the older games.
leggings are so bad ass lookingSmelter demon
I like the dragon bow you can get for trading a boss soul. I'm a str guy and its doing the job quite nicely.Going to shift my dex int build to a quality build. Any good bows I should work towards getting so I have a viable long range option?
