I get where he's going with it, I think, and I agree. Even though both games were developed by Game Freak, the same people who made Gen 2 originally were likely not all still around to remake them. Within Game Freak, there were individuals who sought to improve on what their predecessors had done.

I appreciate all the heart and dedication Sakurai puts into these games but imo Project M plays better than Brawl. Why? Because its gameplay is based off another Sakurai masterpiece: Melee. PM is like the ultimate fan homage to the series so I see no disrespect. It's all derivative of the foundation that Sakurai created and that will never be in question imo. Iirc, they even designed the game as mod so people would still have to own a copy of the game to play it.
